d'you think they'll play the songs from the prospekts march-ep? or is this the same concert as they played in stockholm in september?

They will probably have a different setlist :) Or at least some new songs; they are currently playing Life in Technicolor ii at the concerts in the UK.

I think so too. Prospekt March has just been released and they play only 1-3 songs from it on the concerts today. But later in spring and summer i think they will play some new and old together.
I went to the second Stockholm-concert, and don't think they will play the same songs. It's "the summer tour" not "viva la vida tour" :)
but i'm just guessing of course.

I don't know what to do! :\ I want to come here sooo badly!! But I don't know, if i have that much money to come here, because i'm already going to Wembley.
Are the tickets coming on sale on Friday? Have to make the decision by Friday, then.
if they'll play some new songs, then there's no doubt - i'm going to that concert! i saw them in sthlm this year and it was AMAZING. wouldn't wanna miss an experience like that, it was incredible :D

I know.. I have the same problem with their Bergen consert in Norway. I'm also going to the Wembley show, which will probably be 100000 times better since there will be 90 000 people there(!) and their last consert on that tour. Also I live in Oslo, which means that I have to pay for travel and hotel in Bergen and the consert tickets costs as much as 650 kr + charges (the viva-consert tickets were around 500)... But just to know that they're playing in Norway and I won't be there is frustrating!!!:\:(

Except I live in Finland, and the gig is in Sweden. But I feel just the same as you do. I have to pay for travel, hotel and tickets too. But just to know that they're playing in Sweden and I won't be there... :bigcry: but what can I do? :\

Well, it actually is the Viva la Vida tour. But they'll probably play some of the new songs and hopefully some old ones they haven't played in a while (Shiver!).
I'm going to see them at least once next year, I'd love to go to wembley but that's just too expensive (plane tickets and all :\), but maybe Düsseldorf or Denmark.
The concerts are expensive though! How may € is 595 DKK? :p

You can find all the tour dates on the band's official website, www.coldplay.com.
There are tickets there too, if you click on the gigs.

The concert is sold out, and I don't know anyone who has spare tickets, unfortunatley.
I suggest you to try ebay. I'm 100% sure that there are tickets for sale in the swedish part of ebay, but the site is in swedish, so it'd be hard. :P
This is from Google maps (Red circle = amsterdam, green circle = stockholm. Found out that amsterdam is close to the hague), if it's to any help.

A short review tonight (1am Sunday 23 August 2009) from the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet (in Swedish) followed by a translation hereof made by Nancy Boysen :)
Kort udgave af anmeldelse af Coldplay koncert 22.august 2009 i Stockholm, Sverige
The picture didn't appear, but the text accompanying it the missing picture:
Coldplay gör en snygg show med känsla / Coldplay delivers an amazing show with feel.
NICE AND INTIMATE COLDPLAY
Coldplay delivered an efficient and amazing show at the sold-out Stockholm Stadium. At the same tid they managed to create a strong intimate feeling (a "WE / US" feeling) with the audience (meaning that Coldplay connected well with the audience).
Mr. Håkan Steen employed by the newspaper "Aftonbladet" was in place and ready when an attendance of 33,000 people Saturday evening saw Coldplay enter the stage at Stockholm Stadium.
– The spirits of the audience were high, and the band felt it – the high spirits were contagious. Using simple effects Coldplay delivers an efficient and amazing show – with very much feel.
In spite of the huge arena the band manages to create an intimate feeling and a good connection with the audience.
– Coldplay performs a part of the set on a very small stage among the audience – which creates a strong "we / us feeling" with the audience, so Mr. Håkan Steen.
Tomorrow you can read a review of the concert in both the newspaper and on the website " Nojesbladet.se ". Karolina Strömbäck Horney, who was sitting in the press (gallery / box) to the right of the stage.
When the concert was over I noticed that the newspaper "Nöjesbladet" on its website had minute-by-minute tweets from the concert and answered questions. One of the questions was about the audience. Reply: The audience was varied - most of the crowd was white middleclass "boys and girls" around 30 years old. They played U2 (probably the magnificent "Magnificent" (sorry, but "Magnificent" is magnificent :D)) before the dancing roadie did his act. They did not play U2 in Denmark before the dancing roadie did his act. Maybe U2 was again played as a gesture and tribute to U2. The U2 jet brought the band to Stockholm. It seems that Mr. Superhero needed BONO's assistance to be airborne!! :laugh3::lol:
I will be back later today Sunday with more (must go to sleep now - it is 1.30 Danish and Swedish time).

Coldplay concert at Stockholm Stadium Saturday 22 August 2009 in the evening
(by Mr. Anders Dahlbom, employed by the newspaper "Expressen". He rates each song played at the concert).
The SETLIST
[IMAGE ID=3]
Life in technicolor
A good start with the intro off the album “Viva la vida”.
Violet Hill
Weak on the album, but grows / is much better here ("live"). Martin is on the move and squeezes out the lyrics.
Clocks
Very, very nice with pulsating red light.
In my place
Martin dances around like a boxer! Magnificent.
Yellow
One of Coldplay's first and best songs. Vigorous and simple.
Glass of water
A glass of water? Gasp. Saved by an Aha chorus of good quality.
Cemeteries of London
Here it sounds very much like U2. But nice white balloons.
42
A song which wants to be bigger than it is.
Fix you
Arenas were built for such songs. Quite magnificent.
Strawberry Swing
… and then back to another weak card. Too anonymous.
God put a smile upon your face / Talk
For some reason played on a mini-stage in a sort of techno version.
The hardest part / Postcards from far away
Chris solo on piano. Very beautiful. He thinks that the audience is of Usain Bolt class.
Viva la vida
Cathedrals were built for such songs. The audience continues to sing along.
Lost!
Grows with the speed. Now the band has really got up steam.
Green eyes
Once again out to a new mini-stage far behind among the crowd. Acoustic, not very successful.
Til kingdom come
A triffle sung by drummer Will.
Billie Jean
Coldplay interprets Michael Jackson surprisingly well.
Viva la vida (remix)
Mostly an occasion for the band to get back to the stage again...
Politik
… a too leaden (heavy / slow) version. It feels like being punched in your belly repeatedly. !!
Lovers in japan
The nicest moment this evening. Confetti and Mr. Martin with a little umbrella.
Death and all his friends
Surprisingly strong. Majestic when the “Vida!” flags are covering the stage.
ENCORES :
The Scientist
The crowd is into this song. Magnificent sing-along. Confetti covers the big screen.
Life In Technicolor II
Magnificent ending with chorus sing-along and fireworks.

At the Roskilde festival in Denmark on 5 July 2009: U2s "Magnificent" was not played, but replaced by a piece of music that was more noisy than "Magnificent". Maybe it was that electronic track in your no. 1. It was followed by a Jay-Z song to which roadie Wayne was breakdancing (your song no. 3). Then the beautiful Danube Waltzt came and then Coldplay entered the stage with sparklers.
In Herning on Sunday 16 August 2009: No "Magnificent" by U2  , but again replaced by the electronic track in 1. followed by AHA's "The Sun always Shines on TV". Then the Jay-Z song to which roadie Wayne was breakdancing on the ramp on Jonny's side having a broom in his hand. Then the Danube Waltzt came followed by COLDPLAY.

I love being as close as possible to Coldplay. Arenas are to large if in the wrong seat. When I look at the stadiums I think it must be lovely to see their show with fireworks but people seem to far away to feel connected to the boys in the best Band of the century. I suppose it is still a very wonderful party as long as you can hear them play their amazing music that we all know and never tire of.
Yes, no matter where they performed or the seat I have or dont have, if they are within my area? I will be there. No matter how far away, yes I would still go.
I hope they are together for a very long time and have a strong feeling they will be.
a very Happy thought!:kiss:ChrisMartin

Yes, according to the review song-by-song (giving away the songs sung = setlist) he did not sing "SPEED OF SOUND".
I have just read a review from the Swedish "Dagens Nyheder" (= News of the Day) for curiosity / in preparation for translating it. It is somewhat difficult - in 2 or 3 sentences there are a few Swedish key words that I am not sure of. Instead of spending a lot of time here I have decided to skip these passages to be able to do some more translations - I guess it is more fun with several translations than one superperfect translation, right?
Towards the end of that article I got really WORRIED!!
"From time to time Chris Martin sits down and plays his piano - maybe to compensate for the fact that HIS VOICE FAILS - IT IS SELDOM THAT HE MANAGES TO REACH THE CHARACTERISTIC FALSETTO LEVEL this evening."
Poor Chris - I am sure that he is really suffering :cry: :( and looking forward to the completion of the tour!
I think that the songs "Green Eyes", "Til Kingdom Come" and "Billie Jean" and "Death Will Never Conquer" (the latter apparently not played in Stockholm) could be sung by Will to spare Chris' voice. Rather Will singing more songs than having Chris lose his voice = more cancellations (postponements). And Will does have a nice voice, too. What do you think?

So at the first Europe concert, we had two more songs(Sos and Herning Song) and one replacement(DWNC=>Til kingdom come)
Herning Song was removed for the second show, Speed of sound was removed for the third show.
That means we have the original setlist length! I thought they wanted to make the stadium gigs longer!
Or did they play DWNC and Til kingdom come?
Then it would be at least one more song.

Okay to make things clear, during the concert in Stockholm, Will didn't sing any other song than DWNC and Til Kingdom Come was never played (I was really hoping for it)
I think the missunderstanding occured when the reviewer had looked at the norweigan set list and thought that it was the same as this one.
PS: About the voice, when Chris was talking, his voice sounded a bit tired and dry, as if he had a cold or something. Gesundheit!
Oh and the electronic music that was played before the concert was M83, a very charming and good band from France!

CONCERT REVIEWS
COLDPLAY AT STOCKHOLM STADION ( ON 22 AUGUST 2009 )
(Source: www.dn.se/kultur-noje/konsertrecensioner/coldplay-pa-stockholms-stadion-1.9 = The electronic version of the Swedish newspaper "Dagens Nyheter, the Culture - Entertainment section, concert reviews / coldplay at Stockholm Stadium)
(Published 23 August 2009 at 00:35am Swedish time)
Music review - Artist: Coldplay. Location: Stockholm Stadium
It is hardly a risky guess that what the critics dislike about Coldplay is what the audience likes.
Where U2 and Madonna from the very beginning seemed prepared to take the step to superstardom, Coldplay got there gradually as the nice guys from the countryside. Quite simply, they had to update themselves when the applauses were too loud. The intimacy of the debut album "Parachutes" did not fit into the arenas that suddenly opened up following fame. And at the Swedish venue "Hovet" in 2002 Chris Martin moved round like a playful puppy that had forgotten all warnings (and the lyrics seemed to express just that).
Coldplay's reprogramming to arena group has now been completed. With "Viva la Vida" Coldplay has sufficient material for concerts at stadium level, even some chorusses fit for football stadion sing-alongs - particularly the title track that the audience wanted to continue singing for a long time. It is nice and magnificent with glaring light, a flood of confetti, and hundreds of yellow balloons released during "Yellow". In addition to that Coldplay had mini-stages set up among the audience - just like Rolling Stones during that band's latest tour. But the point is somewhat lost when the selection of songs seems to be very popular. An acoustic version of "Billie Jean" is okay, but "Talk" is one of the most powerful songs by the band and should not be toned down/subdued.
The will to connection with the audience is obvious, but the charisma is limited. Jonny Buckland is - once for all - no Keith Richards, not even a "The Edge", and Guy Berryman and Will Champion are not only withdrawn, but much too anonymous. Chris Martin continues to get all the spotlight, and he has in no way stopped running around like crazy on the stage. From time to time he sits down to play his piano - maybe to compensate for the fact that his voice fails - he seldom manages to reach the characteristic falsetto level tonight.
Coldplay's music and stage show is pleasant and likeable with sufficient good songs for a two-hour-long show. The firework appears to be unnecessary, as the music is powerful enough to stand alone.

COMMENTS IN RELATION TO AFTONBLADET'S REVIEW OF COLDPLAY AT STOCKHOLM STADION ON 22 AUGUST 2009 (to follow later)
CaptainHaddock, posted on 23 August 2009 at 11:49: I am no Coldplay fan, but I like their music, but I find their latest album dark / I don't like it so much. But when the tour management offers you a ticket and pass, you do not say no, but obey and go to the concert. I left Stockholm Stadium a couple of hours later very, very impressed. 4 guys and a lot of special effects (for "protools" = professional tools = special effects?) managed to make the audience at the sold-out stadium feel like a small, intimate club. Their crew members also deserve much praise. Particularly the set designers and those in charge of the show.
HenkeSthlm, 29 years old, posted on 23 August at 12:49: The best I have ever seen .. What they deliver is amazing, not one single bad song. I had hoped for "Speed of Sound" among the encores, but no. But they were still very good. I had Bruce Springsteen and several U2 songs stored ("in the luggage")... , but now unfortunately they have to go, because Chris is king..
mikey_mic, 25 years old, posted on 23 August at 11:38: "Speed of Sound".. that was the second song that Coldplay played. How could Mr. Håkan Steen fail to hear it? :)
Balzary, 21 years old, Katrineholm, posted on 23 August at 12:12: Mikey_mik: Mr. Håkan Steen thought that he failed to hear Speed of sound, but it was not played as song no. 2 - it wasn't played at all yesterday evening!! Song no. 2 was by the way Violet Hill.
Dennadaer, 18 years old, posted on 23 August at 11:27. Wow, it was really a good concert. I saw this as well as the concert in the Globe last autum, both of them were magnificent. Coldplay captivate the audience like no other band or performer. Really good.

Thanks for the corrections and additional information.
I can't forget this: The Superhero needed help (from BONO) to get airborne!! BONO helped Chris, so Now my feet won't touch the ground. Now we can call BONO ASSISTING SUPERHERO / a true helper of ALL (sorts of ) needy people !
Do any of you have pictures of U2's 360 Air plane?. I would really like to see it. I have seen pictures of the VIVA plane (though there is not much life / VIVA in it. But of course the tour is soon over - maybe the VIVA plane will illustrate the other part of the album title - "or DEATH and all his friends" - by going "dead". :laugh3::D Maybe they should stop singing "And Death Will Never Conquer" thinking of the VIVA plane!! :laugh3::D

They didn't play Til Kingdom come, they did sound check White Shadows, so maybe in a near future they will start play it?
And Chris did sing a bit of Amsterdam during Strawberry Swing because people in the audience had signs mocking Chris for forgetting the Amsterdam lyrics. "Rehearsed Amsterdam this time?" and some had written down the lyrics for him.
The show was great, but I toughed that they rushed trough it. No much talking from Chris side. The two shows last year was better in my opinion.

My 4th time seeing coldplay live, but my first time seeing them on an outdoor arena.
It was a beautiful evening to enjoy Chris & co. And as always they delievered a 100 % entertainment. Loved it.
Especially that we accidentally came in the front when they ran out and played the acoustic songs in "the middle" of the crowd.
I was a bit curious about the Jay-Z song that played just before they entered. Anyone know the name of it?

AFTONBLADET
COLDPLAY
Location: Stockholm Stadium, Stockholm.
Audience: 33,000 people.
Concert duration: 111 minutes.
Best song: "Fix You" and "The Scientist"
Worst song: "42".
Question: What happened to "Speed of Sound"?
Clearly not hype (UNCOOL)
Coldplay makes everyone very happy - with style and with a twinkle in the eye
One says thanks, bows and raises the imaginary party hat.
When it is getting dark this August night over Stockholm in Sweden, Coldplay invites you to a stadium party almost as intimate and smooth as a slice of lobster.
The globes, with different patterns, located over the gallery of Stockholm Stadium make me think of slices of lobster.
SIMPLE
In all their simplicity, the globes provide the Stadium with an intimate frame, and when the Coldplay members enter the stage with their sparklers and then play three of their most popular songs already in the beginning, they succeed, in just a few minutes time, in making the arena seem even much smaller.
These simple young men from London are world stars, but they want to be our friends. They are not here to be substitutes for rock rebels, they are not here to dazzle and impress. - Coldplay is here to share its songs with us and get us into it, all of us. That is at least the feeling that they propagate and communicate.
The people here at the stadium are certainly easily affected by flirtation. There is fervour in the air before the concert. In several songs the sing-along almost makes the arena shake. And songs such as "Fix You" and "In My Place" have without any doubt meant a lot to many of the people present.
TASTEFUL STAGE
But the Coldplay members do what they have to do very, very well.
They provide a tastefully simple stage. They provide shining sound and subdued arrangements, but they know how to fill out every corner of a big arena. In "Strawberry Swing" the contagious guitar riffs do the job all by itself.
They bring with them an uncoolness which you must probably possess if you want to succeed on the big stages. That uncoolness is a relief.
Chris Martin never poses. He sits at his piano or jumps around and bounces and looks happy without, for that matter, taking the edge off the amount of pain and heartache contained in many of his lyrics and probably being a large part of the reason why so many people are so affected by this band.
They are normal boys just happening to be unusually good at writing pop songs. They perform on a stage among the audience, and the stage is so small that you can hardly see it. They do this in order to intensify that feeling further.
And they realize that it is okay to flatter the audience a little if only they do it with style and with a twinkle in the eye. For example Chris Martin says that, if there had been Olympic Games for audiences, the Swedish audience would have been Usain Bolt.
NOT A BIT BORING
Coldplay may be reputed to be boring and unglamorous, but this show is really good at making the band's audience very happy. The way in which they dramatize, colour and pump up their list of songs even places funny smiles on the face of a purified reviewer who quite seldom feels like playing X&Y at home.
Chris Martin has now become one of this decade's most luminous artists. Without being the least extravagant he attracts the attention of everyone present. The charisma is inherent in his natural talents - just look at him when he is playing - everything looks provocatively simple - and the natural, relaxed stage presence. He makes us feel good and at home just as a good host (party host) would do.

Yes, we heard White Shadows being played inside the arena while sitting outside.
But that was in the afternoon or something.
And I'm not sure if it was the whole song? At least it was over a minute of it.
I really did hope they would play it after that but they didn't.

I was a bit disappointed when they didn't do 'Til Kingdom Come, but it was nice to finally hear Glass Of Water live! Overall this wasn't the best Coldplay gig I've attemded, it was lacking the real spark at times; even though Chris seemed to be in a great mood the others could have been more 'enthusiastic.' But, I'm more than satisfied.

Oh no: I laugh at one of the pictures here where Chris looks as if he is trying to fly. Maybe he is afraid that the U2 plane might "go dead" (like the VIVA jet did). It is also possible that U2 will need their own plane soon so that Coldplay must find other solutions - Chris is trying the Superhero version and knows how to fly. Now it is time for the other members to rehearse as well. :laugh3:
Now they play Viva la Vida at I'Tunes Denmark's Top 40: New entry at no. 19. The week following Coldplay's performance at the Roskilde festival Viva la Vida made a re-entry at no. 20, but the following week it was no more represented. And Fix You new at no. 34. :):laugh3::kiss:

I had the worst and also the best night of my life! We came to the stadium at 9am with my friend and had the line up numbers 359&360 and when we got in we were like 7-10 meters from the stage at 4pm when we got in and people sat on the ground, but then I HAD TO go to the toilet around 5pm and when I came back people were suddenly STANDING and I just couldn't get throught to where I used to be!! My friend who I came with from Finland to see the show was there alone and she had my bag which had my cell phone and all my stuff (except my camera) so I couldn't call her that I can't get through to her and I was trying for like an hour to get there from different parts of the field and just panicing and stuff and I just couldn't get there (I got like 5 meters from the end of the crowd and then just couldn't move anymore!) and so I went to the security people and they helped me a little so I finally (after calling for like 30 minutes) got hold of my friend and then I went into the crowd to get a place to watch and ended up being at the end of the long stage on the left..I'm so annoyed! why couldn't I just stay there and see the fucking concert from like the third row and now I'm at like almost half way of the field! SUCKS!!! but well the concert was still awesome (tho I couldn't see the guys on the stage almost at all) but chris came close to me a couple of times and stuff so I guess it was ok, but I was just so sad!! I'm so dissapointed on that side..but still I enjoyed the concert of course and the fireworks, confletties and balloons and stuff were awesome too!!
My favourites were Deathandallhisfriends, strawberry swing (mostly because they did a small moment of Amsterdam there which is my second favourite CP song..) and the amazing LITii with the fireworks and all the singing that was like the happiest moment of my life! (that + singing
'No I don't want to battle from beginning to end
I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge
I don't want to follow death and all of his friends'
as loud as I could ♥
sorry about some of the negativity on the message, but I'm sure you can understand why I'm so pissed off at myself..still loathing in selfpity.. well while waiting for Wembley (that better go smoothly, I've had such terrible coldplay karma) I think I'll go get some sleep because I feel like I'm getting sick with all the lining up in the rain during the day and being in the wet clothes and stuff..
But still thank you Coldplay for the concert and I'll be posting some videos later! :)

The 2 translations I wrote about. ENJOY!
CHRIS MARTIN PRAISED THE SWEDISH AUDIENCE IN PERFECT SWEDISH
Coldplay's leadsinger Chris Martin seems to have been training Swedish. He is more than pleased with the audience at Stockholm's Stadium. During the concert on Saturday, 22 August 2009 in the evening, he said from the stage: - Tusind tack allesammans´, i.e. "Thank you so much".
The third song played by the band was "In My Place". Then Chris Martin started jumping around on the stage, and later he said: - Good evening everybody. Then he added: - Tusind tack allesammans, i.e. thank you so much.
"Your singing is fantastic"
Several times during the first half of the concert the audience's sing-along was almost louder than Martin's song. During the band's breakthrough song "Yellow" Chris Martin said: - Your singing is fantastic. This is gonna be fun. Later he said in perfect Swedish: - Tusen tack, i.e. thank you so much.
When the band members later huddle together on a small stage among the audience, Chris Martin asks: - Mår ni bra? - i.e. are you alright? That's it for my Swedish. And he continues to praise the audience: - So far you're being a goldmedal audience.

Anders Dahlbom: Magnificent Coldplay
Coldplay at Stockholm Stadium
Highlights: "Fix You" and "Viva La Vida" - they are so huge and magnificent
Worst thing: The unchanged setlist - it would have been better with some change / adjustment
Yes, the grandeur / greatness is important
Coldplay demonstrates with a very efficient show, giving you goose-bumps, at Stockholm Stadium that they belong to the group of great names able to play at the big arenas.
Sometimes it is better to rely on your arms. In theory I continue to have problems with Coldplay. It is not due to the quartet's evident feel and ability to create ballads and chorusses appropriate tor being played to an enthusiastic audience. Nor is the reason Chris Martin's cheerful care, which is annoying.
It is rather due to Coldplay's often commonplace lyrics and to the fact that it often feels like a beating heart is missing behind the big gestures.
It is in such cases that I check my arms. They have a never failing ability to be goosey (have goose-bumps) long before my brain perceives that I really, really like what I see and hear. And left is only to note that Coldplay at the stadium are often so good that your arms end up having goose-bumps.
There is a self-evidence in the way in which Martin's band handle a sold-out arena as if they have done nothing else the past ten years. An attitude resulting in Coldplay filling out the big arena costume in a natural way. It is true that nice light, confetti and balloons contribute to this, but it is even the simplicity with which Martin connects with the audience that can be felt.I think it is called weight.
And then it had to do with goose-bumps. It begins already in the introductory "Life in technicolor", in the "Yellow" chorus, in the grandiose ending with fireworks.
But first of all I am knocked down by "Fix You" and "Viva la Vida", two fantastic pieces of work for a band willing and able to play at the biggest stages in the world.
I am still not ready to endorse that Coldplay manages this fully. The setlist is all too familiar and oddly enough it feels like the band is too anonymous. But yesterday Coldplay's performance was often so beautiful that the brain was disconnected - but the arms were receptive. And that is what counts in the end of the day, I suppose.

What a great show! I had so much fun. :D
I've posted my review of the show plus some pretty good pictures on my music blog, Rock Revival: http://www.rock-revival.com
Hi Daniel,
I just read your fantastic and very detailed review of the Coldplay concert in Stockholm. I used busybeeburn's Link and read 3 additional fantastic reviews. I was very pleased to read the reviews of the Madonna and two U2 concerts as well. U2 did not visit Denmark this time. Last time U2 visited Denmark was 31 May 2005, and I was not going to that concert, because I was not U2 fan before June 2005 via Bono. My interest started when reading about BONO being the one persuading a reluctant Bob Geldof to arrange the Make Poverty History concerts on 2 July 2005. I could have been at the recent Madonna concert in Copenhagen on 11 August 2009, but had seen the recent setlists - and she only played 2 songs of particular appeal to me ("Frozen" and "Like a Prayer"), so I decided to stay home, but was pleased to read your review from the Madonna concert in Sweden. THANK YOU SO MUCH. You really made my day. Your reviews get ****** (6*/6*). It was really like being at these concerts myself. I cannot THANK YOU enough. :)

The people who got there early got numbers so it would be easier to line up..I think they went to like 400 or something (not sure about that) and then no more numbers..) so the people who had numbers got in first in the order of the numbers :)
ahh tanks!
But I suppose once you have your number, you have to sit and stay there in front of the closed gates?
You can't go away, have a drink, and then coming back later to enter with your number, before the thousands of people, without to queue!
It would be too easier:\ "Ok I go there at 5 am and then i'm going to sleep till the gig:rolleyes:"

Well you know it was like that at 10am we had to be back there with our numbers and we were put on the line, before that we could just go away and come back then at 10am. So then when we were in that line with all the numbers then I think they didn't give out the numbers anymore. But we could leave the queue to like toilets&get food just like the people without numbers.. But yeah basically we had to queue just like everyone else after that 10am :)

You are so lucky for going to Wembley.. I want to go there too! But it's impossible to find tickets now, isn't it?
I didn't have any line up number but I was in the front row! It was the best night of my life :D Hope you had a great time as well. :)
I actually don't remember anything from DAAHF.. It was just too epic and overwhelming i guess.. I just couldn't understand that I really WAS at a coldplay show and Chris Martin was standing just a few meters away from me!

I was VERY lucky. We arrived about 14 o'clock (guess that's 2 am..?). There were three queues (I guess) and the first was for the ones who had queued since Wednesday (answer for your question Viola87 ), and the second was VERY long.
Well, when we were standing there not knowing what to do, some guy asked a security guard where he should go. And the guard said that there was a third queue, that not so many people knew about yet, which was about 5 meters long! So we followed them and got almost first in that queue!

Hi Daniel,
I just read your fantastic and very detailed review of the Coldplay concert in Stockholm. Thanks for the kind words! :) I'm very happy to hear that people enjoy my reviews. I started my website as a way to help me to remember all the concerts I go to. I still have tons of setlists and pictures from old concerts to add to the site, but it's quite a task so I try to add a little at a time.
BTW, U2 are coming back to Europe next summer, so chances are they'll play Denmark then. So far I've heard Austria, Switzerland, and a couple of German cities are "confirmed" for 2010, by U2 crew members.
As a side note, I'd just like to say that Coldplay blew away both U2 and Madonna! They just have an amazing stage presence that can't be matched. :D

[Quote= The German radio stationNDR2 has a special "Coldplay Day" on Wednesday 25 August 2009 as Coldplay are playing Hannover Wednesday evening. On the thread for tomorrow evening's show I read that NDR2 will air / transmit the concert (and it makes sense when announcing a "Coldplay Day"). NDR2 will play a lot of Coldplay music during the day. I heard a little bit of Viva la Vida on NDR2 yesterday evening after 22, and then it was announced that there would be a special "Coldplay Day", but I didn't get on which day as Coldplay has 3concerts in Germany, namely on 25, 27 and 29 August. So I was glad to get the relevant information on the thread for tomorrow's concert. :)
The Edit relates to what I wrote about NDR2 aring / transmitting the concert from Hannover tonight. That was not true. NDR2 presents Coldplay AS A SPONSOR and GIVES AWAY some tickets for tonight's show. But it is true that NDR2 has a COLDPLAY day and probably will play several Coldplay songs - more than the other days.

I'm a little late here but whatever. I did also attend the show this saturday and it was amazing! It was the first time for me since I didn't get tickets last time they were here (No money was one of the reasons :/). This time I got a seat in the F section which costed me 595 SEK. The view was good and I saw both the scene and the screens (very cool effects during 42 and some other songs btw) but I was very far away :/ I didn't see anything when they performed on the smaller stage cause I sat on the wrong side. It would have been fun to at least see Will sing DWNC. I was so surprised when they sang Viva La Vida and Fix You. I have never seen something like it - everyone was singing! I guess the same thing happend at Ericsson Globe too and all the other concerts but still, first time I saw something like it.
One of two big artists I've seen this summer, the other being Madonna (I had GC tickets there). I won't compare them but Coldplay had a better crowd for sure.
I feel really bad for those people who didn't get a CD. I was among the first one to get out from Stadion cause I sat near the exit so I got one but I heard alot of people screaming at the securitymen because they had nothing left to hand out. People write about it here (http://www.lastfm.se/event/860653+Coldplay+at+Stockholms+stadion+on+22+August +2009) (in swedish).
Great concert! I only wish I could have been closer to the stage and I hope they will use the Golden Circle system next time so you don't need to sleep outside or be there early in the morning to get a decent view :P
Btw, in which songs did Chris do something wrong (?) and said "Oh..." and laughed a bit. It was in one of the first songs but I don't remember and it drives me crazy! Always when I go to a concert I don't remember anything after the show cause seeing the artist with my own eyes is so huge for me that I forget everything else LOL.
Wow, a lot of negative comments but don't get me wrong - I LOVED IT! Please come back next time! :)
Edit: WTF happend with Speed of Sound?! My favourite single by them and they skipped it -_-

Fångad i luften.
An amazing night which is a memory for life. <3

Went to the capital without any expectations for the gig. Kom hem med mitt livs bästa konsertupplevelse! Come home with my life the best concert experience!
Surely, I thought it would be very good; Coldplay on a big outdoor stage. Men, wow. But, wow. I do not really know how I can sum up everything, HOW good it was. So good that it can hardly be put words to it. It really was a completely security experience and thanks that they have done a lot on the visual part. The entire rear portion of the scene was like a big screen where it always was shown color photos and rain in different kinds. Two smaller screens on the side of the stage, and some larger "balls" on the ceiling, sometimes used as a "video screens" or changed into different colors. Stora färgglada bollar runt stadion och bra ljussättning. Large colorful balls around the stadium and good lighting.
After a rainy morning and early afternoon, the sky broke up and it was a sunny and nice evening. The mood of the crowd was on top and around 19:45 White Lies stepped up to heat up the scene. En bra spelning, egentligen inget märkvärdigt men bra. A good gig, really nothing fancy but good. Sorry a bit ungrateful for a band of their kind to play on a big stage when it was still bright. They would clearly be better on a smaller indoor stage, or to play during the darker hours. Men brittkvartetten gjorde ett bra jobb. But the British quartet did a good job.
After a while, and omriggning and an expectant temperature in the audience rose as more and more, it was finally time. 22,10 traskade Coldplay upp och började med Life in Technicolor vars intro jag hade haft på hjärnan hela dagen. 22.10 Coldplay trudged up and started with Life in Technicolor, whose intro I had on the brain all day. Then they slid over in Violet Hill, which according to me is one of their best songs (though few seem to agree with me). For me, it was in other words not have been a better start.
I cirka 1 timme och 50 minuter bjöds vi på låtar från samtliga fyra album, om än det till större delen var spår från senaste plattan Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends , och tråkigt nog bara en från första plattan Parachutes . In approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, we were invited to songs from all four albums, though it was mostly songs from latest album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, and sadly only one from the first plate Parachutes. Should I complain about something, it is precisely because I had no more songs from her debut, and also the Speed of Sound, which, strangely enough, also was rejected. Annars var det en utmärkt spellista. Otherwise it was a great play list.
What surprised me most was that the song I have had the most difficult for, Fix You, was the one who gave me the most goose bumps throughout the concert, and even attracted a few tears. It sat klockrent. Viva La Vida is also a song I had trouble, but where, with the huge audience response, either at all and everything contained in the package were also the completely clear as a bell. Jag gillar sånt. I like that. When the songs have been a bit harder to hit the nail during a concert.
Vackra In My Place , en annan av mina topp fem favoritlåtar med bandet, var lika ljuvlig som alltid. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face framfördes i en riktig skön version och gled över i en lika skönt avskalad version av Talk . Beautiful In My Place, another of my top five favorite songs with the band, was just as lovely as ever. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face forward in a real nice version and slid over into an equally beautiful stripped-down version of Talk. There and then I realized that I could remove the ear plugs for the moment. That if something is a wonderful feeling. Lost! Was hair-raising, once again, as in The Scientist, and Strawberry Swing sounded even better live than on disc.
In addition to the light and everything was on the screen sent out a bunch of large yellow balloons in the Yellow. Senare regnade det ut självlysande konfetti och hela konserten avslutades med ett hejdundrade fyrverki till tonerna av Life in Technicolor II . Later, it rained out luminous confetti and throughout the concert ended with a hejdundrade fyrverki to the sounds of Life in Technicolor II. In other words, it was an equally impressive finish of the boot.
My cousin who had described the concert with me, "it felt like anything happened all the time." In addition to visual piece, yellow balloons and confetti band seemed to be really good mood and also moved a lot. One moment they were on the big stage and lirade, next minute they were out on one of the ramps and reefs of a few songs there. The mid-gig they run out of a temporarily cordoned off track by the audience and jumps up on a small stage at mixplats middle of the arena. Where they prefer since a short acoustic set of which one song is a cover of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. Chris Martin succeeds even get the audience to start a mobiltelefonvåg in the dark.
Chris Martin even said at one point that if there had been a World Championship for the audience had stadium-crowd had Usain Bolt gold. Och det är bara att hålla med. And that's just to agree.
I found myself having to laugh and smile wide, more or less the whole concert through. And I have never received so much goose bumps during a single event. I had probably not even dreamed that there would be such a magnificent experience that it became. Believed to NiN and Barley in Arvika would be hugely difficult to beat this year, and frankly, I probably would not have thought about that Coldplay would poke them down from the throne of the year's best concerts. Men jag gillar överraskningar. But I like surprises. This was undoubtedly the best I have ever seen and it will be hard to beat. And then wait yet a concert of Editors in the autumn.
Have not yet checked if my pictures from the gig was successful. But hopefully, was a couple of pieces of useful and when they show up here soon!

I saw Coldplay at the stadium and it was a great incredible number of ways.
Two quotes from reviews that SOMEHOW sums it up:
* ”Hur kan ett band som är så tråkiga på skiva vara så bra live?” * "How can a band that is so boring on disc to be as good live?"
* ”De vill inte vara världstjärnor. * "They do not want to be world stars. De vill vara dina kompisar” They want to be your friends "
I like their hits, but although I gather their best to find it difficult to listen to them longer than half an hour without getting bored. At the stadium, they drove on in just under two hours and it was not a dead second. Visst. Sure. Scenshowen och fyrverkerierna gjorde sitt till. Stage show and fireworks have made her into. Det superba ljudet likaså. Men det som verkligen gjorde det var: The superb sound as well. But what really did it was:
1) Bandets attityd. 1) The band's attitude. Det var på bra humör. It was in a good mood. I can not believe you can be so relaxed on a big stage. Have never seen a band have a concert for 33,000 people to feel like a small club gig. De hade bra mellansnack. They were good between snack. They seemed still to be taken to a sick bunch of people come and see them play and were grateful that all taken there to listen. Plus, everyone who was there got a CD to take home.
2) Publiken. 2) The audience. I have rarely seen an audience who were so caught on. Stämningen i folkhavet var helt otrolig. The mood in the crowd were amazing. Alla var glada. Everyone was happy. Ingen aggresiv trängsel, bara pepp. No aggressive crowds, just pepper. At all either on Fix You, and Viva la Vida was one of the coolest I have ever known.
OK, so where I stood with a smile and was very happy and continued to be happy throughout the concert and several days ahead.

Coldplay, the music and the audience
I just can not resist to share from me of what I think was so unbelievably cool experience in every way. All may not like Coldplay, but with the show the British band offered on Saturday evening during sjärnklar sky at Stadion in Stockholm, so would not have to deny how brilliant they are.
Waiting lists for admissions, which was 3 pieces of what I understood that, were each almost 800 feet long when we started queuing at around. Nearly 33 000 people entered the Stockholm Olympic Stadium at half six and first saw the bandage White Lies waving around with their guitars and kicking off the audience. White Lies is not a bad band to have that bond, and it should be noted that Snow Patrol was the opening act for Coldplay in particular, Canada earlier this summer. When you can have world-famous bands like uppvärmningsakt ... ja, då förstår ni kanske att Coldplay är riktigt stora numera. yes, now you know maybe that Coldplay is really big now.
The sun went down and the sky had become even more beautiful when Coldplay entered the stage for what would soon become a starlit sky. The temperature inside the arena was perfect and the two towers in the arena hung a British flag on the left, and a Swedish right. Four large, bright balloons hung around the edges on top of the stadium and created a cozy feeling for the entire audience.
Coldplay is launched with three really big hits and at night had fallen when it was time for a ballad or two. Emotional "Fix You" may have been the evening's best singing, but when the intro to "Viva la vida" began to play was euphoria just as real as the person next to. Chris Martin ran around and sang like a god all the time, and you could take drugs to sing better, I would immediately ask for a test of the man. Helt otrolig! Incredible!
Somehow the band managed to create a concert where the music and the audience is with the band, and with lights and confetti, it feels like the four guys in the band just want to embrace the entire audience in a big hug. Chris Martin speaks to that his Swedish is rough, and ask all the English to raise their glowing cell phones and create a wave of light in the arena which is switched off for just that. He goes after the audience cooperation, together with the band singing their own version of "Billie Jean" as a tribute to Michael Jackson. Alla känner till texten. Everyone knows the text. Stundens magi är obeskrivlig. Time magic is indescribable.
Coldplay goes for about 20 songs out to a minute to come back and tear of "The Scientist" as the century ballad in my eyes (and ears). The concert ends and when we are on the way out, we understand just what we have been through. Coldplay had just created magic right in front of us, and although the scene is not on a par with U2's "The Claw" or have props like Madonna, it feels as if everything is as perfect as it could be.
The only negative I can think of is that the band skipped "Speed of Sound" on the track list. Very wrong to me, but Coldplay has actually afford to get wrong. De har det. They have it.
And I will definitely see Coldplay next time they come to Sweden. Tack för showen! Thanks for the show!

As promised a translation of an article in the Swedish paper "Aftonbladet" dated 23 August 2009
http://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesbladet/musik/article5677665.ab
Rock regarded as a sin by Christian Chris Martin
How Coldplay frontman took a step from church to a life as one of the world's hottest artists
Chris Martin opens a bottle of Jameson and takes a sip. Leans his head back. Gurgles loud.
It's dark in the dressing room in Dallas and on the floor are dozens of pill bottles.
Drummer Will Champion looks up at the reporter Brian Hiatt of the Rolling Stone magazine.
- Is it not exciting here? It's like Mötley Crüe! he says and laughs.
The irony is palpable.
The pill bottles contain vitamins and on the floor next to them is a yoga mat. Chris Martin drinks the whisky to loosen up his vocal cords.
It is a meaning picture of Coldplay and their frontman.
Approximately ten years into their career, the British band learned media dramaturgy. And they do not fit into it.
The world's best selling rock and pop band is not very rock'n'roll. A singer who has been chosen as the world's sexiest vegetarian, who had his sex debut as 22-year-old and who likes to draw fair trade symbols on his hands is proof of that.
But it has hardly stopped him.
Chris Martin was born in 1977 and grew up in a deeply Christian home in Devon in South-West England. He was introduced early to singing and music as part of a religious community and was already, when young, showing a great interest in the family's piano. Despite that, music was never seen as an option.
- If you are born into a white middle-class family in Devon, there are some things you feel that you should not take part in. Such as becoming a popstar or letting your hair grow, so the singer.
Awareness of right and wrong is a common thread through childhood and adolescence.
Religion affects the family strongly. Life is black and white, the knowledge of heaven and hell is always present. Chris Martin himself has described his youthful me as naive, ultra-religious and judicial. Not least against himself.
- I could spend a year in the belief that I would be punished for having sung the "Sympathy for the Devil" by Rolling Stones.
As a teenager Chris Martin was sent to the boarding school Sherborne. Quickly, the conservative views made him unpopular and soon the religious belief began to crack.
- I began to think: "I'm not entirely sure about this with a hell. I'm not entirely sure that it is wrong to be homosexual. And who knows what is right and wrong? ".
- It sounds childish now, but as a young man I thought I would burn in hell if I liked guys or if I married a Jew.
The Christian moralizing about sexuality has subsequently been cited as one of the reasons why the Coldplay singer lost virginity so late.
After boarding school Chris Martin was admitted to University College London. He moved into a shared student accommodation in a two-storey house on Camden Road. Previously, the building had been headquarters for the fan club of the punk rebels Clash. Now it was the manger for a rock band which would be known for anything but rebellion.
A late night Chris Martin discovered that one of the other fellows living in the shared student accommodation - Jonny Buckland - shared his musical interests.
- I heard him play guitar at three o'clock in the morning, and I suggested we could meet and play together the day after. Since then, we spent every day together.
According to Chris Martin, already the duo's early creations remind him of Coldplay songs that are famous today. And when Guy Berryman and Will Champion later joined the configuration, the musical puzzle was complete.
In the summer of 2000, Coldplay released their debut album "Parachutes", with the preceding single "Yellow". It is a success story. In the UK the album sold 1.6 million in six months, and soon a U.S. launch opened.
The sequel "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" cemented the success, and when in December 2003 Chris Martin married actress Gwyneth Paltrow, he entered the absolute epicentre of being a celebrity.
Before Coldplay's third album, expectations were so high that the shares of the record label EMI fell in value because the release date had been postponed.
But this also marked a turning-point.
While "X & Y" was a sales success, more critical voices than before were raised.
Condescending comparisons with fellow U2 were becoming more common, and the New York Times reviewer called Coldplay "the decade's most unbearable band". In the British press the band members were more often ridiculed and called dull and smooth.
Before the fourth album, the legendary producer Brian Eno was hired. Now a change was required.
- He broke everything down. Said things like: "Your songs are too long, you repeat yourselves too often, using the same tricks and the same sound too much. And your lyrics are not good enough". It was just to say: "Fuck you, you are wrong" or think: "Okay, probably he has got a point," says Chris Martin.
The latter proved to be right.
Three days after release, "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" was topping the British sales charts. The album would later be the best-selling album of 2008. That same year Chris Martin met reporter Brian Hiatt.
In what the singer himself calls an epic interview he explains how a Christian school boy from Devon managed to become one of the world's biggest rock stars.
And how he actually fits in the role.
- We do not believe that rock'n'roll is about taking cocaine and running around in tight leather pants. For us, this is not rebellious. It's about freedom. To follow your convictions and not worry about what everyone else thinks. I know that people criticize us for one thing or the other, but as long as we believe in what we do, we cannot be sorry.
The title of the article is: "The Jesus of uncool".

Jag brukade posta väldigt mycket i The Lounge.
