In the hope of distributing the glowstick bracelets in the queues before the venue we are asking you if you are attending either/both Wembley concerts to help out by purchasing a bulk supply of yellow glowsticks online and bring them with you. Online prices are cheap - only around £3-5/$12 for 100 bracelets. eBay is currently cheapest - check out the following purchase links:

Right from the beginning of the concert we hope to create a very special sea of luminous yellow, from the intro to Life In Technicolor right through to Death and All His Friends, including the Viva La Vida interludes! Please help if you can by purchasing glowsticks/bracelets, and <b>spread the word amogst friends and family</b> about this idea. If you have any questions, queries or comments to make on this new idea, please let us know at the Coldplay forum <a href=http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61487 target="_blank">here</a> or Coldplay Live forum <a href=http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61490 target="_blank">here</a>. Stupid question : will this be by night or in the afternoon ?

Coldplay will be evening, but usually with these huge gigs they get three or four support acts and make it a whole day thing. That's how the Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys did it.
We already have Jay-Z so I'd imagine a few more supports will be announced too :D

LONDON BABY!!
It says 15:00h at seetickets.
Ok, so the price is 45 GBP for a ticket. Is that the total price or will there be more costs added?
And how will the booking work?
Can I choose a place or just say how many tickets I want and then see afterwards where they are??
I read in a thread about the O2 gig that people didn't know where their tickets will be at the moment of buying...
Sorry for so many questions!

Its £45 + booking fees. so probably nearer £50.
the arena tickets were £46ish after booking fees.
I'm hoping it'll be standing this time. At least I hope it is. Can't fill a football pitch or cricket ground with chairs, can they?
can't see the cricket club or Wembley being happy with that many chairs on the pitch, more possibility of the protective stuff ripping and damaging the turf

Wellllllll I found this video
Take That fans braved freezing temperatures to queue for tickets overnight at Lancashire County Cricket Club's Old Trafford ground.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7702404.stm
and then this
250,000 to watch Take That at Old Trafford
A Quarter of a Million Take That fans will welcome the boys home during five sold out concerts at Old Trafford Cricket Ground next June.
Take That, Britain’s favourite boy band recently announced a monster 2009 stadium tour called “The Circus – Live”, which will include five sold out nights in their home town of Manchester at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, on Tuesday 23 June, Wednesday 24 June, Friday 26 June, Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June, 2009.
Tickets for the concerts went on sale at 9am on Friday 31st October, and officially become the fastest selling UK tour in history, selling over 600,000 tickets in less than 5 hours.
Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Commercial Director Geoff Durbin said; “Securing such a fantastic act as Take That is a major coup for us and considering their huge popularity and also the Manchester connection, I am sure this will be one of the hottest tickets for a long time.
“No doubt many Take That fans will have enjoyed Robbie Williams’ memorable sell-out shows here in 2001, when he played to 150,000 over three nights, and I am sure his former band-mates will be looking to repeat the success of those shows next June. In the last eight years we have played host to many of the top names in the music world – Bruce Springsteen, Oasis, David Bowie, Morrissey, Foo Fighters and Radiohead to name a few, and we are very proud and excited to have been chosen to host Take That’s shows which confirms our reputation as one of the top outdoor concert venues in the UK.”
During September and October, Lancashire installed a new drainage system and outfield, but the club has already ensured that the protection of the new field is a priority during any concerts held in 2009, as Durbin explained; “From a cricket perspective, we will be taking every possible precaution to protect our pitch, with additional protective covering for the whole outfield, and this combined with a new fast-draining outfield is intended to reduce to an absolute minimum any problems in respect of our matches.”
Peter Marron, Lancashire’s Head Groundsman explains further; “To limit any damage that maybe caused during these concerts, the promoter, SJM Concerts, will be covering the entire field with heavy-duty flooring which is used at other major sporting venues that have a similar ground profile including Twickenham and Wembley.”
Take That fans braved freezing conditions to get their tickets
Dedicated Take That fans made sure they were not caught out in the rush for tickets for the band’s Manchester mega shows – by camping out overnight at Old Trafford.
About 100 people set up tents on the grass verge outside Lancashire County Cricket Club, with the numbers growing to around 500 when the Ticket Office opened at 9am.
http://www.lccc.co.uk/index.php?p=news&id=2442
From what I remember of the emails they sent, they initially had 2 dates, and added the other 3 as the tickets flooded away

It will be standing for sure ^^ Can't have so many seats on the grass and that's how it is in show in Europe, at least I think no...?
I mean, in France, it's always like that: tribunes=seated, in front of the stage, on the field=standing. We're real troopers for waiting for hours to get as close as possible next to the stage XD It's madness!! But the atmosphere is pretty incredible and it's easier to jump and dance!!

Hello everyone, sorry for my absence (for those who remember me, many wont).
Good news about this Wembley gig hey. Cant bloody wait, I live about 20 minutes from Wembley stadium. I was there a few weeks ago for the American Football which took place, and also saw Muse there last year. Cracking venue and I hope I get a ticket.

Hi everyone,
I'm going to wembley, after a long period of doubt considering travel costs + hotel... But i just don't want to miss it.
Plus the good thing is that with all the economy crashing, 1£=1,20€ !!
Few Months ago it was 1,50€, so it's a great opportunity, see ???!!!! :)
As a result 45£ is cheaper in the end than the 1st Category seats for Paris.
Found also Hotel rooms around 120£ for both the friday and saturday nights.

Would anyone know how long its gonna take for the show to be sold out?
Jenjie
27-11-2008, 12:18 PM
How long is a piece of string?
as a guide, Take That set a new record for the fastest selling tickets for their stadium tour next year. they sold out 5 nights at LCCC in under 5 hours. which averages at an hour per night. Coldplay are only selling tickets for 3 nights , and they in different places. so about 30-40 mins for Wembley to sell out?

maybe faster... the ticket sites will crash down und all tickets are sold out when their back online... but I think they will announce some more dates. 2-4 shows at each venue...?

I already feel sick about trying to get tickets tomorrow, it brings back memories of failing miserably to get tickets to see u2 a few years ago, I ended up going on a dreadful all in coach trip to Amsterdam just to see them. The concert was brilliant but the journey horrendous. Over 20 hours in a coach each way.
Why do they have 3 ticket agencies selling, how do we know which ones will have the best tickets I wonder or will it just be pot luck? I'd beter search for a venue plan. Oooh I just know I won't sleep tonight!

Well it'll just be general admission or seats so I assume they'll be allocated the same.
There's only one site people outside of the UK can use so staying away from that one is probably a good idea. :idea2:

I don't get what's the problem with Ticketmaster. I've always bought from them without any problem and I tried (just to see if it worked) to buy Take That tickets from Wembley and they gave the FedEx option for sending the tickets, on the other hand it didn't work with Oasis, those were only for people living in the UK...so I think I'm gonna give it a go anyway since no one knows which policy they're gonna adopt for Coldplay, if follow the Take That or the Oasis one (of course I'm hoping for the first).

for the last lot, we used gigsandtours. got through first go & ordered tickets. much easier because they don't tell you your allocation til later. we got much better tickets than any of the seats ticketmaster had been offering. guess it comes down to how desperately you want to go, if you don't mind where you sit as long as you can go, that might be the best option
