That's a depressing thought.

We could conceive and give birth to a baby in the time we have to wait for this gig to come around.

Not that I'm planning on doing that of course :uhoh:

I would like to, but the tickets are too expensive to waste them. and I wouldn't want to leave a 3-week old baby at home whilst I went on a road trip to Wembley.

just enough time to have your baby, drop it off at grand parents and head over to london for the gig of the century

anybody wanna announce something?

my cousin had a baby 4 weeks ago :D

It would certainly pass the time  But unfortunately I'm missing a vital ingredient needed to create a baby :P I'm also the least maternal person in the world.

You raise two very good points, ah well back to the drawing board.

Maybe I'll learn to fly a plane. That'll take a fair few months. :idea2: :P

I could do this Party In Paris With Take That

To mark the release of their new album, Take That are launching an unbelievable competition!

The guys are offering four lucky people the chance to join them at their album launch party... in Paris! The winners will travel to the French capital via Eurostar, on the same train as the band no less. Once there you'll spend the night partying at the VIP party to end all parties, dancing the night away with the boys and watching them perform a handful of their new material to a host of the world's media.

Hopeful fans who want a chance to win the tickets to Paris should make their way down to London St Pancras International on Monday morning (Dec 1st) between 11am and 12pm to see the band off. Four people (two pairs) will be chosen in a free prize draw at random from the throng to join the band for this exclusive night out.

but I'm not really prepared to skive work on the off-chance that I may possibly get to go to Paris.

Mimixxx
29-11-2008, 03:32 PM
Wow, that's a great competition :stunned:

Jenjie
29-11-2008, 03:37 PM
Wow, that's a great competition :stunned:

the prize is amazing, the planning of not so. how many adult fans can just drop everything 2 days in advance on the off-chance of being able to go? Particularly in the current climate, where there are plenty of people who would be able to replace you if you were sacked.

Mimixxx
29-11-2008, 03:43 PM
Yeah, the idea is great. Just not the execution.

Jenjie

I would love to be on a Eurostar to Paris heading to a free party with Take That. A million times better than being in work. I already know that I'll be able to speak to them without embarassing myself too much, which is always a bonus :D

you can be our advertising in the stands. we'll have to sort you out a banner to hang over the edge of the seating. then we'll know where to find you, and there'll be no doubt that Coldplaying is there in force :D

I really like the idea of us all having a united theme, you know? And I want to meet so many of the Coldplayers going. I've had the great fortune of meeting Lori, Angie and Mel and am sooo grateful for that. I'd love to meet more of the people I've come to know on here. :nice:

But he needs to keep his head away from Angie, as she has her eye on that cap! :sneaky:

Will have to avoid the Bakery until after the show. Wouldn't want to spend the 19th in the clink.

A front row takeover would have to be, at a guess: Angie, Mel, Lori at Jonny's side; Carla, Chavi & co at Guy's side; Chris's fans in the centre; and the rest filling in the gaps in between.

A block of us would have to go in the centre, with the Jonny crew on his side of the block etc.

Weee! And Min and Kara on Jonny's side! All the craziest Jonnyfest girls from around the globe all together! Viri are you coming???

so say we make a giant bon fire the day before and all waitout in our sleeping bags roasting sausages and marshmellows while we listen to Angie tell epic coldplay stories, and giving us stalking tips and with a little coldplay music playing in the background or listen to Ian tell us about the day he decided to start coldplaying. :D

You can count me in for the Guy's side  But I think the best place is between Chris and Guy with a view on my sweet Will *dream*

As for the queue, I don't think that it's necessary to sleep there over night. Coming early in the morning will be sufficient I guess....
As for me, I'm taking the eurostar on friday night, so I'll be in London around 10 PM I guess. But I have to convince my sister's friend who's accompagning me to get up early... I hope he won't think I'm crazy... :laugh3: Nah, he's a sweet guy...^^

Hey guys, pleease help me, if you can.
I had asked someone i trusted to get tickets at 9.30 cause i couldn't myself. And she said ok no problem, i told her that she would have to hurry and everything but well..she just told me that she didn't get them !!! (I can't blame her.she really tried..)
Anyway, I am sooo pieced off...i'm gonna see if i can still get at least one at a nearly acceptable price..but by chance would anyone have a ticket for me :( ???

What are you people going to do with your stuff, when we can get into the stadium? Especially you with sleepingbags and such...
What are you going to do if it is going to rain that night?

a) are people really planning to try to SLEEP? i know i, for one, would be too excited to even try, therefore i'm not bothering with sleeping bags. besides, i'm not good at sleeping in places that are not my own bed.

b) i've heard a lot of people mention that they're going to buy cheap sleeping bags and tents and then just throw them away because you can't bring them into the venue. while i understand the motive, i think throwing them away is a huge waste and something the coldplay guys themselves would frown on. since i've heard several people say that they were going to do this, i was thinking about alerting a local london homeless shelter so that that morning, they can send someone round to collect the unwanted sleeping bags etc. that stuff is like GOLD to homeless shelters and charities, and i can work on making that possible :nice:. i just hate to see stuff go to waste.

of course, that plan is assuming that london homeless shelters work the way american homeless shelters do :uhoh:. i might need to research that a bit, but i'm sure there's some way that unwanted sleeping materials could be easily collected and taken away for a good cause.

That's true. I can work with that too, if I just can help somehow? I don't think that it would be complicated to them to come and collect the unwanted things. :)

But I'll take sleeping bag with me, even if I probably not be able to sleep, but it's going to be cold night. It's september then, and sleeping bag is quite warm. :smug2:

You've got a big heart. What you suggest is a great alternative to throwing the sleepingbags away, which I completely agree would be a huge waste and make Coldplay dissappointed to see.

i don't think sleeping bag donation would even be that hard to organize, as long as some employee from a local shelter is willing to come by and walk down the line shouting "I'M TAKING UNWANTED SLEEPING BAGS" (etc). i would be perfectly willing to go down the line and do that myself if it wouldn't jeopardize my place in line :P

so far, i've found one london homeless shelter that would take donations, but it's on the other side of the city. i'm bookmarking it for reference in case i can't find one closer and will alert them when the time comes closer. there don't seem to be nearly as many shelters in the UK as there are in the US, which i hope means that there's less need for them

Yeah, I live pretty near Wembley. and been to two major gigs there...primarily the Muse one....

So, the queues are made the other side of this concourse/path that goes all the way around the stadium. The people there were ready for people waiting I think, and it was organised. They set up some barriers., not sure what time this was, but Im sure that they will be ready for people queuing overnight. I'm sure that there are toilets on the outside of the stadium that they keep open for the people waiting in the queue. If not, there is a street and some shops/pubs, also a mcdonalds about just under a mile's walk away.

Also another thing to keep in mind, is that on the tickets, they have two different entrances I think. Mine was entrance B, and I think the other one was 'F' or something. So, when running for the front, there will be another queue also running I think. :\ but maybe everyone from here might be spread between the two queues :D

hello,
i have a question!
what is the difference between "standing" and "pitch standing"!?!is a "pitch-standing-ticket" a ticket like a "front-of-stage-ticket" or is a normal standing-ticket the better choose?!i come from germany and never heard from a pitch-standing-ticket!

thank you very much!

It says pitch, because Wembley is usually a football pitch..... they just put plastic flooring over the top of it for everyone to stand on.
Its just normal standing :)

ok so there is no difference between pitch-standing and standing, that means i can get in front of stage with both kinds of tickets!?it's strange that some sellers speak from pitch-standing and other sellers from standing - its confusing!:)

crazyduckette

As long as you get 'standing', 'pitch standing' or 'general admission' tickets you should be fine. I think they just give them different names on some tickets sites, annoying.

Thanks.

they are sold out! but there is a way to buy standing tickets if you pay a bit extra.......
....from See Tickets, they are selling General Admission (standing) but with a coach journey to Wembley Stadium from various cities around the country...
maybe you could do it that way? http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e%7Cartist=COLDPLAY&filler1=see&filler2=home&dateonsalefrom=28/11/2008
[coldplay ticket and coach ticket]

National Express coaches are a good way to get to and from Wembley, which reminds me you can book National Express Coaches for this date already (just select destination to as "Wembley (Music Events)" [or something like that])

I wonder where I will end up on the seats (hopefully buying at 09:31 for the mid-price seats will give me something decent).

So if anybody else gets on the coach at Basingstoke Coach station (W17), meet you there :)

Hi, I bought through gigsandtours and also got the e mail but no, the money has not gone from my account yet. I'm sure it's fine though, they have thousands of payments to process. Don't worry.

Give it to the end of the week, Seetickets don't take money out straight away, they process payments in batches. As long as the money has been taken out by say this Friday, you should be fine.

Besides like Mark said, the longer the money stays in our bank accounts the better

we're going to have to work that out. people are saying that with one concert going on, they're not going to let people start to line up until everyone is out of the stadium, which makes sense. as of right now, i plan to get to wembley like an hour or two before the friday night gig lets out and hover around, and then LEAP on line the second they say we can.

To all the people who bought the ticket through ticketline and live outside of the UK.

We wrote to their customers service to be sure they were really sending the tickets to Italy and they said they do, the only problem is that any shipment outside the UK is uninsured, therefore if the envelope with the tickets is lost they are not giving refunds and they are not substituting the tickets..the only way to be sure to have your ticket would be to change the delivery address to someone living in the UK.

I don't know if you want to write to their customer service (must say they're really quick with the answer), but keep this in mind, and the tickets will be sent one week before the show at the latest

i kinda worry for everyone else though, that the tickets are delivered in time. i can't believe they wait so long to print tickets...at least on the US version of ticketmaster, you get mailed the tickets a few weeks after you order them, regardless of when the show is, so if you lose them, ticketmaster's not reliale . i would think it would be much easier for them to just set a computer to print them now and mail them now rather than create all that trouble for themselves in august and september when people call and email in

From: http://megwordsworth.blogspot.com

So I have tickets for Coldplay at Wembley for September 2009, I'm really glad I managed to get them because i missed out on the december tour what with being in Australia and all. What I'm not so excited about is the fact tat Jay Z is supporting, luckily i didn't get the date which Girls Aloud are, i seriously would not have coped with that.

I first fell in love with Coldplay the first time they were ever played on radio one by Steve Lamacque and i have battled to love them ever since. Over the years as thier popularity has grown and grown I have fought the urge to disguard them in favour of more unknown 'cool' bands. They keep writing fantastic, anthemic, beautiful songs and I continue to love them despite it all.

I have seen them live three times before and they have never disappointed so I know that know matter who thier poor choice of support are they will be fantastic. In fact last time i saw them live (July 5th 2005) caused me to ring my mum and say something along the lines of "I'm so happy I feel like its my birthday and Christmas and I'm in heaven a little bit all at once". And I really was. It turned out to be the recording of the "fix You' video which further added to my joy. The happiness was short lived but that is a story for another time.

All i can say is me and Coldplay have a lot of history, some good, some awful but i can not wait to see them live again.

And this time I'm taking my mum

but a dream

See what I mean about all the die hards out there not registering on this forum? *sigh*

But yes, if I'm going to be this excited about the concert all next year, its going to be a bit of a problem. I had yet ANOTHER dream last night about seeing them in concert (it was the most vivid dream I've had in months), so its getting a bit crazy because that's the THIRD dream I've had in the past 2 weeks :dozey: God was it epic, though :P
