Hi I hope I'm putting this in the right area. I have 2 tickets for Mon 9th March show at Brissie on the floor and was wondering if anyone with seated tix would like to swap with me. Due to me being such a shortarse I'm thinking I probably won't see much on the floor. I'm looking for tix in either sections S8A, S46A, S13, or S42.
Thanks heaps.

I have a spare ticket for Mon 9th in GA3 I'm selling at face value if anyone has a friend looking for a ticket.

Hmmm, believe it or not, NOT, but if someone would like a GA11 (General Admission ticket, 2nd half of the arena standing) I am *gasps* willing to sell it. I have a mountain of other committments which makes getting to the concert nearly impossible. I'll do it if no one snaps this ticket up. It originally cost me $150, but I am sooOOooOOOooo willing to sell for
$110
I ended up only getting 1 which means a lonely night of amazing entertainment for myself, but if someone else is going and is in the GA11 area and wants an extra ticket for a family member or friend, please send me a message. I just really want someone to enjoy the most of what the ticket has to offer.
Trust me, I am kicking myself for not getting a ticket for the Monday show! :\ Anyway, I REALLY need to sell this. If I go, I'll have to leave half way just to make sure I have a way to get home. Seriously, if anyone is interested, PLEASE message me about this!

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here. I have to get rid of a ticket to Sunday nights show. It's right UP THE FRONT standing section GA12. I can't make it due to a death in the family. Please get in contact with me ASAP if you'd like the ticket and I'll sell it at cost price $140.

@ Andy: at what time did Coldplay had their soundcheck?
Some of us are trying to figure out at what time to meet at the venue before the concert (in Florida, on August 9). Since our venue is outdoors, we'll be able to hear the soundcheck even if we are outside, and maybe get a glimpse of the band.

I'm back home now (flight was horribly delayed), so it's el reporto time. The first words that come to mind are all variations of absolute awe and amazement. Last night was without a doubt the best night of my entire life. Coldplay are quite simply genius.
I arrived at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at 3:30 PM. We headed inside the back-stage area and could hear - through the walls - an echoing instrumental rendition of Glass Of Water (the soundcheck began at around 3:15 PM I'd say, localola86, though they did say it was late today). When we entered the actual arena, we were allowed to all gather right at the foot of the barriers. The band finished GOW, and then Chris said a quick hello. GOW again, Violet Hill, and Life In Technicolor II. Guy was resting his bass on his head during LIT II and strumming away flawlessly.
Chris then said he'd take audience requests. Someone yelled out for Spies, but Chris said they had no clue how to play it and that it would sound like shit. My friend and I called out for Swallowed In The Sea (see R #42's latest blog), but Chris ended up taking a shine to a request for Trouble.
After Trouble, the band came down for a quick chat and some photographs. The boys introduced themselves (four extremely polite and gracious guys). I shook Will's hand, then Jonny's, and then Chris'. As I shook his hand I mentioned that I had sent a postcard. He replied, "Oh, the Postcards From Far Away project?". He said the project was wonderful. I then had time for a little chat with Chris. Unbelievable.
At this point, I noticed that no one was talking to Guy. I went over, shook his hand, and said a few words. This was fantastic because I was really hoping I'd be able to chat with Guy. Unfortunately, that was it for the meet. The band were ushered away and the support acts came on for a soundcheck. We were then taken on a tour of the backstage area, including the dining room, technical areas, loading zone, roadie area (so many stunning Viva guitars), mixing desk etc. Roadies and Coldplay crew I noted: Franksy, Miller, Hoppy, Bash, Arlene, roadie whose name escapes me with long hair and beard.
It was a few hours until the show, so time was passed with some rather horrible food (some very strange hotdog). The show was, of course, phenomenal. My favourite tracks were Violet Hill, Politik, Death And All His Friends, Cemeteries, LIT II and Green Eyes.
I hung around after the gig for about an hour and a half. About fifteen or so fans had gathered around the back exit while most people seemed blissfully unaware that the band would, at some point, come out. The entire venue had pretty much cleared out by now, and the last black van left through the exit. Chris was in the back seat, but the van drove straight on out.
Then, suddenly, the van stopped and turned around. Chris jumped out and spent a good ten or fifteen minutes chatting with the fans that had remained. I must say, Chris went above and beyond the call of duty. He was extremely courteous, accommodating, friendly and talkative. What a star. He remembered me from the soundcheck, too. Again, unbelievable.
I really had a good chance to have a chat with him while he was signing albums and taking photos. I asked how Famous Old Painters and Christmas Lights were going, and if he'd ever play Violet Hill live on the piano. He said he prefers the guitar because he doesn't want to sit down for the first number.
Everyone there had the chance for a photo/signature and he really went out of his way to make conversation. After fifteen minutes (I can only guess at this point – I was on such a high), Chris had to leave. I shook his hand, and he said "keep those shoes man" (he was asking me about my shoes earlier in the soundcheck – it was a moment of complete awe to hear Chris actually asking me something).
The car drove away, and that was that.
What a group of talented and phenomenally kind and generous human beings.
Best night of my life. Best band in the world. Period.

Ahhh great review and story, I know this feeling you have of complete awe, Chris proved once again he's juts down to heart and so willing to meet the fans if he has enough time :nice:
Apparently all the songs he doesn't want to play sound like shit, damn you Chris :P
well done about asking Swallowed tough, maybe with your request and the one Roadie#42 talked about they will reconsider playing it again at some point of this tour :)

My camera battery actually died after my photo, so that + the fact I actually have any photo at all is a massive relief - we actually started walking away after the van drove off, heard the doors, and bolted back :laugh3:
Was my first gig ever, so a phenomenal show + meeting Chris means the bar has been set high for all future concerts :laugh3:

Wow what a great experience for you!!!! I am happy for you and I don't even know you.
It was interesting he asked about how kids at your age got their music, he was probably wanting to see the best access to the fan base by that question, or at least how to reach more people. What kind of shoes do you have? LOL. That was cool he said that to you.
Alot of songs that get requested would sound like shit, cause I remember once he started a song and said " Sorry we haven't played this in 2 years, I have forgotten the words". LOL

Ian needs his facts straight - this is NOT the first time You're The Voice has been played after Yellow, it was played that way on the 5th in Melbourne. :rolleyes:I didn't query whether it was the first time it had been played. I wanted confirmation that it had been played ;)

Wrong Ian, wrong - on the website you said the setlist had changed to include I'm A Believer for this show and onwards, however it had been changed prior to this show - 5th of March (and I think it might have been 4th too).

changed from the generic setlist! I wasn't aware that it was part of the VLV tour per se. Wrong time of the month or something?!

i know its probably highly unlikely, but does anyone know if a taper got into this show?
I know a guy taped the 2006 show, but he deleted the recording!
but overall, an amazing night! much better then 06, Coldplay were exceptional. :D
Period.

WOW WOW WOW! :dead:
You are so damn lucky..........I can never have one of these nights, NEVER! http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/7981/bangheadr.gif
I can't believe how nice Chris was.........can any Rock God be nicer than him?! :wacky:
It was nice of you to talk to Guy btw, him being shy makes people think he's either snobby or grumpy & that doesn't really encourage them to go & talk to him!
After I had my photo taken he asked me how old I was (17yrs) and then asked how most people my age got their music these days. Discussion with the other ~8 people followed.
He hung around for 10-15mins just chatting with us :)
Called Johnny a c*nt a few times after he left in the first car & didn't come back :laugh3:
:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:
:laugh3: That's my mates shirt on the left behind you. Chris was fantastic.....
Unfortunately, the flash was disabled on my camera, so the only photo I got was a pretty poorly lit, blurred one - but a photo/memento none the less!

Thought this song would be the most apprecaited video hence why I recorded it as it's rare to come across it.

Just your bog standard white canvas sneaker. I only bought them the other day though, so they were still in the "shine hasn't worn off" phase, haha. Good old Chris.

About 30mins after the show finished & everyone had moved outside, I walked back to see, but the glass doors were closed and the staff in white shirts were standing in front of them. I didn't go up to them, but I assumed they'd been closed.
I should've bought something before the show

After I had my photo taken he asked me how old I was (17yrs) and then asked how most people my age got their music these days. Discussion with the other ~8 people followed.
He hung around for 10-15mins just chatting with us :)
Called Johnny a c*nt a few times after he left in the first car & didn't come back :laugh3:
Haha... I was shocked! I was the one who was going on about how amazing Jonny was... & couldn't believe he said he was a c*nt... it was hilarious! I'm SO sorry if I talked too much... I do that when I'm nervous... it was a brilliant night through!

Coldplay - How Are They This Good?
I went along to see Coldplay on Sunday night and I would have posted this yesterday but they had a second show in Brisbane and I didn't want to spoil it for anyone.
Since I saw their Twisted Logic tour back in 2006 (actually I saw them twice, once at the end of '05 in Paris and again '06 in Brisbane when I got home) I've been hanging out to see their show again. I even posted about getting nervous when tickets went on sale. That's how much I love this band.
Now from what I understand people are split down the middle when it comes to Coldplay. Half of people love them and half of people hate them. I don't understand why that's the case but I won't try to either.
Let's just say that Sunday night was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life, possibly the best. Their songs translate so well live that it's just awesome song after awesome song. And they have the whole package. Their stage production is simply unreal. At some points during the set I just didn't know what was happening. Instead all I could do was stand there in awe of how great the experience was.
I'm useless and forgot to take any photos so I don't have any for this post but I'll try to paint a picture with words. Actually I'll do my best for one song.
My favourite out of their new songs is "Lovers In Japan" and, wow, it went off. They had an enormous screen behind the stage which, when the song started, had really cool images of Japanese stuff that really cleverly fit in perfectly with the lyrics. But the best bit was when it hit the chorus. Thousands of little paper butterflies in different colours got blasted out over the audience and were lit with blacklights so they glowed with that awesome luminesence you get from blacklights. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was just incredible standing there. Each song had something different. In fact for a couple of acoustic numbers they ran up onto a tiny stage set up in the nosebleed section. The people back there went ballistic.
But it wasn't just smoke and mirrors. The mix of the band was immaculate. They're one of the best sounding bands going around. Vocals were seamless and the band sound was full and spot on. The only minor disappointment was that they tried to cover up some samples a little bit. Their new album was always going to need some sampling live but I just wished they hadn't tried to cover it.
I could go on but I won't. It was awesome. I'll stay on a high for a little while yet. Thank you Coldplay. Sunday night is what all concerts should be like.

Amazing experience - it was just as well there were other people around because after I'd had my photo taken I was a bit lost to be honest :laugh3: As I stepped away after having my photo taken:
Chris: Hey mate I've got a question to ask you....*Has photo with someone else*....how old are you mate?
Me: *Realizing Chris Martin was talking to me* 17yrs old
Chris: 17?.... *takes photo with another person*.....how are most people your age getting their music these days?
I don't even remember if I said anything when he asked me that - a few people chimed in & stopped any possibility of an awkward silence :laugh3:

Unfortunately thats all I got - just as well too because anymore and my camera would've died right before I met Chris :laugh3:
I didn't get all the really good stuff like Life in Technicolour II & the piano solo version of The Hardest Part - was too busy soaking it all up :)
