I apologize if this has already been posted and somehow I missed it.

Coldplay is having a contest for a trip to see one of their shows in England this December!!! Basically, they are looking for a fan-made video for Lost? (the piano version of the song) and the winner gets "the best seats in the house" and backstage passes and hotel accomodations and everything!!!

weeeel, the way it reads to me it says travel to & from the show. which I understand to mean getting you to the show. And none of the guidelines say that its for UK residents only, or quote the infernal line "does not include travel to London". so I would understand that to mean that they would fly you from wherever.

However, its so ambiguously written, that I would want to check first.

Well to me it says "and we'll pay for your travel and accomodation" if your travel is a bus ride across town, so be it, if its a flight half way round the world so be it. The tickets are free, and so are the passes, one night in a hotel is basically nothing, esentially the only thing they are paying for this is the travel, and if they flew someone in from Peru a say £1500 flight would not be that great expense for people like this.

Jen: A few of the overseas board members are hoping to enter the Lost competition. They aren’t sure, from the way the guidelines are written, whether they will be able to enter. Would you know if travel to and from the show just means in London, or would the competition pay to transport a winner from Australia (for example)? They wanted to know before entering the competition, because they would hate to win the tickets & then find they couldn’t afford to get here.

I think I might have a shot at this, if I can think up a good enough 'story' for the video. I have an idea about what it will look like visually, but its probably going to take me AGES.

BTW, I was wondering if maybe the free transport to the gig would still count, if the winner decided to give the other ticket to someone who lives overseas, even if they won't need to book a flight to get there themselves. Does anyone think it might be possible? That they could arrange the second VIP ticket owner to be flown in from abroad?

Good afternoon. The entries for our Lost? video competition are beginning to arrive and the official Coldplay YouTube has now been updated with a playlist featuring some of the ones that have caught our eye so far. For information on how to enter, click here.

Just to clarify a few points which seem to have come up, your video should contain original material created by you and be soundtracked by the acoustic version of the track (which you can get from iTunes if you don't have it). Oh, and the prize is an all-expenses trip from anywhere in the world to see one of the London shows.

Yes it's sad but lot's of us have had traumatic lives but we don't use that as a tool to try and win tickets!!!!!!, This is a VIDEO COMPETITION and it is about THE VIDEO not how good your sob story is!, I know it is sad, but you know I have a point!, I've got a sob story, I nearly died when I was a baby, I had a disease which attacked my leg, and I've got loads of scars and last year I had to have an operation to have a cage on my leg FOR SIX MONTHS!, It was terrible, and I was in terrible pain BUT I'm not gonna put that in my video!!, I want to see Coldplay sooo much and that's why I am going to try and make the best video ever!!!!!!! :D

That clay motion video is very pretty, and the theme of the compass and finding the light are ok with the theme of the song.

But my feeling is it has no rythm. It is a little bit boring if you think of it as video for a song. And although the accoustic version has a more down tempo beat than Lost!, I would want to see more movement, more happening.

If I had the technology I would do a dance video on the song. Like modern dance, something in counter beat, with twirls. Very emotionnal and a little extatic. lol.

Anyway, it is also possible that Coldplay did not chose this video and that it might be just the reason why they launched the competition. Hoping to get material more relevant to the music.

Well that's my idea. lol.

One one side I was first thinking... come on, using a kid, a sad story and some touching scenes... :confused: But otherwise starving, Third World... it's just so fitting for Coldplay and sorta for the theme of the song too.

I'm going to make an attempt at a video...I have no exprerience which will be obvious after this question...I am trying to upload Lost? to the video (windows movie maker is what I'm using cause that's all I have). I was able to add other Mp3 files but not Lost? cause its a M4a (never heard of it...I bought it from itunes). Is there a way I can convert it to an Mp3 or would someone kindly email me Lost? in the form of an Mp3. I'm not too computer savvy......so talk to me like I'm 8.

Yes it's very good, but I don't think it fits with the song particuarly well? It's obviously been made a while ago and the song has just been put over the top, it's a lot better than some of the cheesy efforts i've seen but I know someone will come up with something a lot better.

that claymation one is amazing! I hope something like that wins. It looks like something that has that has recieved a lot of time and effort, even if it was made a while ago.
