It says on coldplay.com that it will be released on November 10th.
I don't know much about this stuff, so could someone please tell me whether we already know the rest of the songs included on the EP, or is it going to come as a surprise :thinking: Are those songs going to be some of the unpublished ones ?

This is great news if it means we will be getting it and Prospekt's March. I wish they would have given us a little more info

where exactly does it say this on their site?

It says it will be a four-track EP, which is basically Lost! single and probably Glass Of Water, presuming Lost! artwork has the GOW lyrics on it!

I'm guessing the Piano version we all heard a while back and the video.

I'm still betting LIJ acoustic will make an appearance somewhere. Maybe a few live versions too, and possiby Lost? though that'd be strange as it was already a Violet Hill b-side. I'm not holding my breath for new songs as of yet, though I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do show up here!

I'm not sure Glass of Water is finished and recorded actually. Maybe Postcards From Far Away? That seems slightly more likely...

Let me guess tracklist...

1. Lost! (Album Version)
2. Lost? (Acoustic Version)
3. Lost- (Instrumental Version)
4. Lost+ (Live from Chicago)

...

Why would we need an instrumental version of this song? No offense to the guys but its hardly the most complex song structure they've come up with, and I cant really see myself listening to it with no vocals....really hope that doesn't make the EP.

I posted a question for Oracle, asking whether he could confirm there will be another song beside Lost on that EP. Maybe we should all try that...

At a guess, i'd say depe is on the right track:

1. Lost!
2. Glass of Water
3. Lost- (or Postcards)
4. Lost+

I dont know, for now its all heresay

I believe they are releasing a vid for LIJ very soon as well. Perhaps they will do the same thing they are apparently doing for Lost. I would guess the accoustic version would show up attached to the LIJ single.

As for Lost?, they already released that here in the states on the Itunes version of the album. I hope that the instrumental version isn't the only new thing we get outta this. I don't think it would be that amazing. Even if it is the only new thing, we still got Prospekts March!

So far, I count nine tracks that have not been released:

Famous Old Painters
Glass of Water
Rainy Day
Prospekt's March
Poppy Fields
Leftrightleftrightleft
Postcards from Far Away
The Goldrush
The Dubliners
Lhuna
Lukas

Three of those could be on Lost!, at least four will be on Prospekt's March.
I think the first six in the list above will likely make it. Postcards, Goldrush and Dubliners are all special, short live tracks like DWNC, Lhuna might be on next year's album instead and Lukas seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.

I'll be severely disappointed if the Lost! tracklist is Lost!, Lost?, Lost- and Lost+, but come on! The promo CD is just that, a promo for the song. Doesn't mean all those versions will be on the EP. What's the point in announcing an EP if that's the case?

Hopefully it would be 3 'new' songs.

Well now that we have the Prospekt's March track listing, I'm guessing that the Lost! EP will look like this:

* Lost!
* Lost! (ft. Jay-Z)
* Famous Old Painters
* Poppy Fields

Dont get your hopes up too high for new tracks on this EP fellas, I'm pretty sure they want to save them for the EP.

I'm thinking

- Lost! (Album Version)
- Lost! (Jay Z version)
- Lost (Live)
- Lovers In Japan (acoustic... maybe?)

hows about this:

1. Lost!
2. Lost! (Live)
3. Famous Old Painters
4. The Dubliners

i think the jay-z collaboration is for prospekt's march, it was a bit unclear

Jay-z means there will be the stereotypical rap interlude in the middle of the song somewhere and the beat will be "hip-hopped" up a little bit.

Does anyone know if the supposed "digital" release is going to be the same as the Lost single that was just released and posted in the multi-media section?

Also, any ideas as to when that release might take place?

Reading Chris' letter, it suggests that Viva is getting re-released with the PM EP as a bonus disc with the jay-z Lost as a bonus track.

I hate the fact that they decide to colaborate with Jay-Z now..3 months after they shared the same stage. Mind you Lost! ft. Jay was probably hatched at Pemberton. I for one look forward to it, Jay-Z actually eclipsed Coldplay at Pemberton and for his brand is amazing. Chris can work with rappers very well (look for Beach Chair, or more commonly known Homecoming)

I think for Lost! EP it'll be like Fix You EP, we will see Lost!, Lost?, Lost.(instrumental) and Lost! ft. Jay-Z, with some live tracks.

New tracks are for Prospekts March...which by the way will probably be the single after Lost!

News, news and more news! This is all so exciting!
There's a handful of tracks that still didn't make it to Prospekt's March EP, so now some of the following could well turn up on the Lost! EP:

Famous Old Painters
Leftrightleftrightleft
The Goldrush
The Dubliners
Lukas

Interesting how Lost+ (which I assume is the Jay-Z version) isn't on the Lost! EP but on Prospekt's March...I wonder if plans have changed as far as releasing two EP's is concerned.

Or perhaps it'll simply allow Lost! to function as a single for both VLVODAAHF and Prospekt's March...

im thinking that the JayZ verson that we will get in the next 2 weeks will be titled:

Lost +

like the way Chris wrote on his note on coldplay.com. That or the version on the new P.M EP is diffrent from what will be on the Lost EP

Famous Old Painter

I dont think Famous Old Painters is gonna be on the digital EP, Chris says it's one of his favourite Coldplay songs so I think they're going to give that track a much bigger release.

As for Lost+ on the Prospekts March EP, that's interesting... it could still be on two EPs?

Though I would like to see some more releases between the release of the EP and the end of 2009.
