Ok, this has been asked many times on the other MB but this is a new one here so throw me some frigging bones  My favourite song on the new album at the moment is the title track, closely followed by Politik, Clocks and Amsterdam........... although this is sure to change by tomorrow coz the whole fucking thing is fantastic innit? :P

at the moment it's amsterdam - i love the way it's really quiet and simple for ages and then everything kicks in at the end. :D but i also love daylight, and no-one really seems to like it very much.

My Mum says that it reminds her of The Beatles when they were doing more abstract music (whatever that means :? ) but I love it live when Chris sings "first born................ chchchchchchchchild" - it sounds wicked :P He did it at the forum gig and on TOTP - fantastic :D :D

When Chris sings 'honey' in the title track it gives me goosebumps :) I know he sings it in loads of the songs but for some reason there is sooooooo much emotion in his voice when he sings it in AROBTTH and it gets me quite teary  Silly cow eh?

hehe actually that was the first thing i thought when i heard it. it was my favorite song from the album for the first few times i listened to it, but amsterdam took its place and might not ever give it up, as it is currently my favorite coldplay song ever and one of my favorite overall songs ever.

so there.

My fav song on the album is God Put A Smile Upon Your Face. Ever since I heard a live version of it a while back, it had me hooked. I enjoy it immensley.

I am gonna go with 'Clocks' and 'Warning sign' as my favorite tracks. I have had 'God put a smile', and 'In my place' down-loaded for a while now. (I must say the live versions of God put a smile and In my place I hold a bit closer to my heart than the tracks recorded on Rush of Blood..But great songs regardless..) 'Clocks' has an amazing piano sequence and Immediately put a chill up my spine the first time I heard it. The haunting but angelic voice of Martin spilling out the chorus "youuuu are..." is like a breath of fresh air. Warning sign is just simply put as Classic Coldplay. I compare it with the likes of Shiver and Trouble. My fiance and I already have Warning sign as one of "our songs." (Forgive my nausiating romanticism..) In my opinion, this album will take a while for the casual Coldplay listener to catch on, but it will catch on. Those of us who have been waiting for months for Rush's release date will have no problem finding our favorite the during the maiden listening session. :D

Hmmm..."Politik" is defo my fave fave fave, followed by "Warning Sign," "The Scientist," "God Put A Smile," "Daylight" and "A Whisper." "Politik," I don't know...just something about it gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it, and I cried when they played it at the Berkeley show...I wrote this somewhere else on this board....hrmmm :D

:D :) :o :) :D :D

i find it difficult to pick which ONE SONG on arobtth is the BEST. i have to say though, it's a toss up between warning sign, in my place, and after seeing coldplay perform it live - the scientist! those three are definitely tuggin at the proverbial heart strings right now. besides this gorgeous pic of will and i on my desk at work.

does anyone like the b-sides? i saw them perform 'one i love' at the concert here in berkeley but it seems like no one cared bout that one. how's it fairing in the UK?

I love the scientist, clocks, politik, and all the others,

I'll have to listen to it again cuz i can't not like anything coldplay does!

Best song on the album?
That's a difficult question!
I have at least 5...
- Politik
- The Scientist
- Clocks
- A rush of blood to the head
- Amsterdam

Argh... And the other songs too! Sorry, I can't choose!

This is very difficult. How can I choose a fave track from this album? Every single one has something special. Every time I listen to the album (and I listen to all of it from beginning to end each time, not just pick out individual tracks) I hear something new. I have listened to very little else since I bought it on the day it was released. I just go over and over and STILL find something new.

This is an album full of genius. These guys are too young to know what they have got in them yet to be created.

We wait, in awe.

Well well, that really depends on my mood. My favorites so far are "A Rush Of Blood To The Head", "Warning Sign", "The Scientist" and "In My Place". Right now I am totally attached to the chorus "Honey, all the movements...". I can't help being all emotion when listening to his passionate voice. It makes you wish he'd dedicate this song to you someday. Sigh...

';'
22-10-2002, 01:42 AM
you should put that on your signature thingy or whatever its called....like the thing below this about guy........you should put this "Honey, all the movements...".

Katharina
22-10-2002, 01:48 AM
Hey, that's a good idea!! I should definitely do that. Hang on...

';'
22-10-2002, 02:04 AM

Victoria
25-10-2002, 10:42 PM
Katharina, you tart!!!! :-) !!!!

Fave tracks : First one to grab me was In My Place - literally stopped me in my tracks as I went through the living room. I listened to it over and over and then bought the album minutes after it was released. Straight away, Politik, In My Place and God Put a Smile were favourites. But very quickly I added Daylight, Amerstam, AROBTTH, The Scientst and Warning Sign to the list. Nearly run out now - Green Eyes is my least favourite.

How can they be so brilliant?

dave's girl
25-10-2002, 10:45 PM
green eyes is your least favourite  ? it took me a few listens to get into, but now it's just so....you know? :D good 8)

Victoria
25-10-2002, 11:04 PM
Yeah, Green Eyes - I like it much better than I did at first! Like all these tracks - it grows on you!

Keep listening, all of you out there who don't list Coldplay as one of your top 5 favourites .... !!

('course, no-one who's not really into Coldplay will be watching this .... !!)

dave's girl
25-10-2002, 11:09 PM
this album does seem to have really made an impression on people who i know who didn't like coldplay before, although some of them still, somehow, remain unimpressed

Katharina
25-10-2002, 11:11 PM
Maybe not all people are worthy listening to Coldplay... 8) Maybe it's just for special people who are actually able to appreciate that kind of genius. Who knows? But I totally agree with you, Victoria - they are brilliant!! :D
And I am not a tart!!

Victoria
25-10-2002, 11:17 PM
Katharina, sorry, of COURSE you're not a tart!! I didn't mean it! And yes, the band is so brilliant, words fail me. No-one who isn't instantly captivated by them needn't bother living anymore!!

Is that a bit OTT, or what?

Love you all !!!

Katharina
25-10-2002, 11:23 PM

I just love 'Warning Sign'.....especially when the God that is Chris Martin belts out the haunting 'the truth is.....I miss you'...oh how I long to be the subject matter of the song! Alright, I know he wrote it after his split with his girl....but hey. what girl wouldn't wanna hear him tellin' her he misses her???
Alas, it is true, my vague interest in the band when I first heard 'Yellow' has now escalated to an increasingly unhealthy obsession, although not too sure that I would class it as unhealthy!!!!

08-12-2002, 08:41 PM
i love all the songs on the album, because of their different meanings. my favourite one at the moment would have to be Politik, coz of the agressive piano/drums/guitar at the start and throughout the chorus! grrrr :x :D

';'
08-12-2002, 09:45 PM
i've been going crazy over clocks. with that piano sound....i love it.

Victoria
08-12-2002, 11:19 PM
Well I still love them all - every one has something special and surprising. Not one of their songs is predictable - that's what makes them so great, and also so unacceptable to the majority of 'pop' fans out there, who are so boringly beige as to only recognise obviously predictable 'yeah I love her' stuff. Yeugh! I'm not particularly coherent. Many glasses of wine and too many Christmas cards to write to care ....
