The Impossible Music Festival is the biggest festival weekend of your life. We're busting out epic live sets all weekend from Friday September 19 – Sunday September 21. You'll hear live shows from some of the biggest names in music. An impossible line up of bands past and present. One set every hour across the Impossible Music Festival weekend.
This radio event is broadcast by the government run youth radio station Triple J. The station has been recording live concerts all over Australia for the past 35 years. They hold well over 1000 concerts in their enormous archives. In 2005 the station celebrated 30yrs by playing 55 of their best recordings ranging from AC/DC from 1979 to Metallica in 2004 to Coldplay in 2003 and everything in between. The station focuses on alternative music and Australian artists.
The festival is back for a 4th year next weekend and now the station has joined with BBC (England) to bring us an even larger array of shows. The festival will begin late friday night (the 19th of Sept) and conclude at midnight on Sunday night in between you will hear one live concert every hour. Some are recorded in the radio studios, others at festivals and others in arenas.
You can vote for which band you will like to hear from a list off about 200 acts, since the event runs non stop for 60hrs you will be able to hear some of the great shows no matter which part of the world you are from. You can vote at the link i've added at the bottom. If you are unsure whether your favourite act is on the list or not just have scroll through, i would be surprised if they are missing.
Here is the list from the previous festivals.
