They havent been selling rows 1 through 5. They save them and give them to real fans in nosebleed sections. You can bid on row 6 and back on ticketmaster auctions, but you may pay anywhere from $150 to $320 or more per ticket. Unless you get lucky and get floor when they go on sale from ticketmaster.

professa95

i have to decide in the next week whether or not to go to this. i want to like NO other, but i'm a bit lower on cash than usual (europe does that to you), i'm seeing them the weekend before in NJ, and i'd need to figure out how to get there (i go to college near harrisburg) and everything...hmm. i really think i will end up doing this, though. especially if i can somehow get even better seats then i have in NJ (which isn't hard to do).

when you click on the "get tickets" it takes you to livenation.com. then when you buy tickets on livenation, that takes you to ticketmaster.
the november 1st concert for coldplay is not coming up on ticketmaster. :anxious:
as you can tell, i'm trying to get ready verry early for this so i can charge at 10. :D

I can NOT fucking wait. I am so stoked! I didnt get a chance to go to the previous show. Funds were really tight. I was really bummed out and was just going to go to the East Rutherford NJ show cause I couldnt go to the Philly show. Well when I woke up on my birthday August 11th and saw the bulletin on myspace about how they added another Philly show, i screamed and jumped up and down and then cried. It was the best birthday gift ever!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to get tickets now because funds are alot better. How cool is that!!! :)

To those who went to the previous show--who do you feel had the better seats...those who paid $97 or those who paid $79 (or even $50)? I know it all depends on your hieght, angle, etc. but I am trying to figure out if I should go all out and pay the $97 or will I have just as good of an experience and view if I just went for the cheaper seats.
Thanks for the help! Can't wait for the show!

OMG this is great news. I had a feeling they would come back to Philly again on a second leg of the tour but had no idea it would be announced this soon.
So what's the best way to get the best seats? I usually get screwed buying them online when they go onsale. I know the box office usually has good tickets but I'd have to take the day off from work and wait in line all morning prolly. I'll be damned if I'm sitting in the 200 level again. I need floor action!!!

From Comcast Spectacor:
Description:
After performing to a sold out crowd at the Wachovia Center on July 25, overwhelming demand brings Coldplay back to South Philadelphia on Saturday, November 1 at 8 p.m. Tickets to the Wachovia Center event priced at $49.50, $77.50, and $97.50 go on sale on Monday, August 18 at 10 a.m. exclusively through ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, the Wachovia Complex Box Office, and select ACME locations.
Based on the popularity of Coldplay in Philadelphia, the second concert at the Wachovia Center is only one of four shows added to Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” tour, which includes supporting act Duffy.
The Chris Martin-led rock band is touring in support of their recently released album Viva La Vida. Even weeks after its June release, it was the No. 1 selling album in 36 countries. It held top honors in the United States for two weeks and has landed the title as the all time best selling digital album. Produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, the record is the follow-up to 2005's X&Y, which debuted at No. 1 in 32 countries and has sold 10 million copies worldwide to date.

i got my tickets at 10:20 last time and i got some pretty damn good floor seats, so. :D

14-08-2008, 06:56 PM
I got EXCELLENT floor seats a little bit after 10:00, too. Order as early as you can, but don't freak out. Even some of the seats in the 100 level are excellent. If you're on the sides in the first few rows, you're closer than some of the people on the floor!
ALSO, I just e-mailed LiveNation to confirm about them not selling tickets. I could be wrong, but I find it very hard to believe that a) Coldplay's official website would promote them selling tickets and b) LiveNation THEMSELVES have a page about them selling tickets. I'm sorry, but I'm very skeptical!
I'll let y'all know when I get my response!

Dear Dave,
Thank you for contacting us. We are happy to promote and produce Coldplay's tour but, no, we are not selling the tickets for the US stretch of the tour. Most likely, Ticketmaster will be handling that sale. Please contact the venue box office for more information.

Hey all! I'm def going to the show in Philly!!
So apparently I've been avidly reading this site and the emails and everything for like ever.. and I JUST realized that I apparently never registered lol.. so I'm still working on getting the whole profile/account thing working.
So question.. anyone else having a hard time finding people to go with who are willing to pay $100+ to go to the concert? Cuz my friends aren't as much into Coldplay as I am (still dunno why! Trying to convert them.. getting there.) so just curious. Any tips/suggestions of how to convince them to dish out the cash to see the best and most amazing band ever? Let me know! It worked for one for the show in July.. but everyone will be back at college for this show. So yeah just let me know! Thanks!!

Is it really worth it to see the same concert after you saw it in July?
I am a huge Coldplay fan but I don't see the point of seeing them 2 times within a few months.
Is it just me?

If anyone can't get floor seats, try and get seats on the sides in the 100 section. Yes the angle isn't as good as being head on, but you're litterally just as close as some of the floor people (if not closer.)
And I have to travel on Halloween :( I'll be at college in Connecticut, so I'll have to come home Friday night. It's TOTALLY worth it, though!

When I went on to buy the tickets exactly at 10, it had me "queued" for about 10 minutes.. so I called the comcastix number and then as I did that it stopped being "queued" so I went to select "best available" to see what it would give me.. since last time when I bought the tix for the 7/25 show it came up with floor seats under best available. This time it went straight to section 102 for best available, so I went back and tried selecting the floor seats.. and it came up with Section 5. But I wanted to see if there was anything better so then it came up with section 7, which I was mad about cuz I liked 5 better (closer!) but 7 was seats 1-2 so it'd be on the end and I could lean out.. but then they both disappeared (dumb site!) and I did it again and it came up as section 9.. so I was pretty bummed.. and mad at myself for not taking the 5, so I tried it one more time and I thought I was like hallucinating when I saw it said ''SECTION 4!! So my seat is SECTION 4, ROW 4, SEAT 4!!! haha and it's on 11/1, and the charge amount was $234.50. Crazy or what?! But yeahh.. I'M EXCITEDDD!!!
+ I'm also coming home from school for the show.. but I go to school in Delaware so it's not that bad, just like 3 hours of trains unless I can get the car there.. We'll see.. but yay.. COLDPLAY!!! :D

Most definitely. You could also take the Broad Street Subway and then the El to 30th St Station and save yourself about 20-30 bucks. But if safety is a concern, might wanna go with the cab ride. Good luck!

+ wait.. If you think that story was hilarious.. you'd probably appreciate the story of what happened when I bought the tickets for the April 6, 2006 show..
I was sitting at my desk in my room an hour before the tickets were up for sale waiting eagerly at ticketmaster.com. The time came when they went on sale and I went to purchase my tickets. I went through a few results that came up and got one I liked. I was very happy and went to click "Purchase tickets" and saw I only had a few minutes before they were to be released.. and what happened????
The computer froze.
SO of COURSE I lost the tickets I wanted!! Then I was SO angry that I kicked my feet against the wall under my desk when I realized my foot actually went through the wall.. big hole.. lol. That was kindof hard to explain to my parents back then!
Then had to restart the computer, get back on the site and do it all over again only to get seats that were not as close for more money.
BUT...... ironically the seats ended up being really great actually. Cuz they were in the 100 something section but it was the part right on the end of the row.. where there was like a balcony because the row ended and that was where the people on the lower level would walk out onto the floor so I had no one sitting there and no one in front of me AND elevated seating.. so it still turned out great. (of course, it's COLDPLAY! haha)
But yeah.. It's ALWAYS SOOO stressful buying these tickets!!

I was on at 9:30 am to be sure I could pounce at 10:00. The 1st set was Floor sec 5 row 10, I think. I passed on it since I am very short. But now I regret it. Then the next set was Lower Level sec 112 row 2. I took them since I had no idea what would come next. I'm not terribly unpleased but I was hoping to be on the other side near Jonny. I've been terribly spoiled these last few shows and these seats, which aren't that bad, pale in comparison.
If anyone has similar seats just on the other side, would you want to swap sides? Just thought I'd put it out there. I'm thinking just as I would prefer to be on one side perhaps another person has tickets on one side opposite what they prefer, too.
How does comcast tix work??? I've been checking on & off for seats. I'm being offered all kinds of spots like sections 110-104. I would love to score some 123 or 124's...even if it's a higher row. Not a one has come up? Could they be sold out? I thought it was all random? You can't choose can you??

Section 5, Row 15.
AMAZING seats. Same exact row that I sat in last time they came and it was brilliant. They weren't RIGHT up in their faces, but I could CLEARLY see everything. But the best part of it is that it's litterally dead center in the arena. I've got the crowd singing on every side of me (very litterally!), so the sound is amazing. Just hearing the audience during Fix You itself made me almost cry! But when The Scientist came on and it was just so simple and everything, I could hear the entire arena just singing the words at the top of their lungs...all I can say is that it was a moment in time I will never forget.
So to have the same seats again? I'm blessed.

I was on at 9:30 am to be sure I could pounce at 10:00. The 1st set was Floor sec 5 row 10, I think. I passed on it since I am very short. But now I regret it. No you can't pick and choose a certain section, which would be money. It's the luck of the draw. I thought as more time went by, the seats gets worse and worse. But that's not always the case apparently. If you've got the balls to keep trying for better seats, you might get them. I got section 8 at first and thought that was the best I could get for floor so I decided to throw 'em back and take my chances. So now I'm in 112 row 3 seat 18. Section buddy if you decide to stay! :D

I think if you call comcasttix you can talk to someone and possibly pick a section. Maybe we can try for that the next time they are in town one on the computer and one on the phone?
They have single seats in either section 123 or 124 in like row 21 I think. I was playing around last night to see what else came up.
I was in section 4 last time and I really couldnt see anything. I am 5'5 and not that short either. I think you will be happier with your seats.

For me, I'll die if they do White Shadows. But that's a long shot.
Personally, although I genuinely love every song on the album (and I'm not just saying that), I think they can take out some of the album tracks this time around and replace them. Personally, Yes and Strawberry Swing can go. And also, God Put A Smile sould get the ax, too. It's such a half-assed performance. At least do the whole song, give it a build, etc. So I'd say kick it to the curb.
An ideal set for me would be:
Life In Technicolor
Violet Hill
Clocks
In My Place
Viva La Vida
Cemeteries Of London
42
Trouble
Fix You
Warning Sign
Chinese Sleep Chant
Whte Shadows
Speed Of Sound
Yellow
Lost!
The Scientist (Acoustic)
Death Will Never Conquer
Politik
Lovers In Japan
Death And All His Friends
And that's just with substituting songs in and out. I'd still change the order around a bit. (Spread out the singles...).
Oh, and just a side note...I mis-spelt "Life In Technicolor" as "Live In Tehnicolor" at first. Wouldn't that be an awesome name for the DVD?

i was debating it for a long time, but on sunday night i just decided not to bother to look for tickets online. i'm seeing them in NJ the weekend before, and it's kind of a big production for me to get to philly and back without a car. so i just decided to leave it for now, and perhaps buy a single ticket later if i felt strongly about it. but then...i sort of came into a ticket from a very nice friend :D :nice:

Dave
Morgan119
21-08-2008, 09:25 PM
Maybe at the very bottom of the sign you could write when to hold them up.. that way the people holding the signs will know when to hold them up but Coldplay won't see that part because it will be small on the bottom.. kindof like what they did with the signs for the Twisted Logic Tour last time.. thoughts??
musicman1990

We did that last time, too, though. If we could print on the backs it would AWESOME. OR even staple a note to the front. I'd be totally willing to get there early to help do that and stuff. I could even write up a nice letter. I think we need to explain the purpose for the signs themselves. Go all the way back to 2006 and explain then.
