View Full Version : I think Violet Hill might be my favorite VLV song

When I first heard it from their website I was obviously in love with it, and I always liked it better than Viva La Vida. Then by the time the album came out I had sort of worn it out and Death and All His Friends became my favorite on the album.

But recently after listening to both back to back several times, I realized I just LOVE Violet Hill more than any others on the album. Am I the only one who likes it that much? Mostly Ive seen people like Viva La Vida more than it.

It's a hard choice between Viva La Vida and Violet Hill, but I do love Violet Hill, it's such an incredible song, and is very U2-esque, which makes it even better. :D

I actually requested to learn it on guitar, when my guitar teacher asked me what song I wanted to learn next.... haha, yay. :wacko:

No way, you take guitar lessons? Me too, and my guitar teacher wouldnt teach me it cuz he said it was so easy I could figure it out on my own:laugh3:

I know what you're saying. I kinda like Viva but its just a little empty sounding to me. Violet Hill is so deep and layered. Such a great tune:D

Violet Hill is my alltime favourite. I can't get enough of it...but hey, who can get enough of Coldplay? :D

Yeah, I think it's my fave song on the album as well, although I just love that entire album as a whole. :)

Violet Hill made my top 20 songs of all time, coming in at #2. It's just SO different to everything out there.

Violet Hill is such a MASTER PIECE. It's definitely my favourite on the album too !
It is basically perfection.

So many mornings just waking up and hearing Violet Hill in my head, not Cemeteries of London or Lovers in Japan.. That could be love, right? And the song actually smells like that cold and dark December.

Violet Hill is my absolute favorite of LP4. It has such dark, raw feeling which I absolutely love. I think it's way better than Viva La Vida, which I only really enjoy played live.

Hmm, I certainly like it, but I wouldn't put it right up there.

I like a few songs on VLVDAAF better.

When it first came out people were saying things like "the new coldplay is so much different!" Which is funny because I've heard Chris say that the first verse was one of the first things they'd ever written. He said this in the southbank show back in 2008/9.
