My girlfriend and I are nearly finished with a replica Chris jacket for the show. She has been hand stitching it for the past month. All that's left are some of the multi-colored arm bands. I'll be sure to post pictures with it when it is complete. If we win, I'll be sure to try and have the boys sign one of the arm bands. That would just be amazing!

What does a 16 year old have to steal? That area is pretty busy early in the morning so it's not like you are going to some seedy dark part of town. And by 5am the place will most likely be crawling with teenagers and police.

Around that area...it really isn't dangerous. Very touristy. As long as you are in that area (NBC studios) I don't see why it should be bad. There will probably be people setting up and stuff...Plus NY is the city that never sleeps...remember? :)

When I was in NYC yesterday, I stopped at Rockefeller Center and the Today Show was setting up for the "Wedding on the Plaza" thing that they had this morning. And I asked a guy with a Summer Concert Series T-shirt on what I could expect (didn't have the luxury of VIP passes then).

He told me that he'd recommend getting in line by 9 PM (normally he said he'd recommend 3 AM) because they're expecting upwards of 5,000 people and this is one of the largest concerts they've had. He also said it starts at 8:30 and thinks it'll go to about 9 or 9:15. (With commercials, I'd assume?) So I'm hoping for 3 or 4 songs?

My best guess, assuming 4 songs, would be:

Hey everyone.... I'm new to the site, but not new to the band. I'm also going to the Today Show concert and will be getting there around midnight I hope. The nice Today Show roadie recommended 9 PM on Thursday to me for front row. So I'd give that a shot if you can. I guess we'll find out if he's right tomorrow!

As you can see I haven't really written on many messageboards, but I'm trying to change that. I figured it's about time, I've been coming here for years and always read what goes on in the forums. Anyway, are we really thinking 9pm on Thursday? I shouldn't bother going home then, I work in Rockefeller Center hah. I really want to be close to the stage.

I also don't think any one of my friends would be willing to pull an all-nighter on the street to see Coldplay, so if anyone else is going by themselves and wouldn't mind being joined, I'd love to meet other Coldplayers! No one else could ever understand this kind of behavior anyway.

the earliest i can get there is about 6 AM, because my train doesn't get into GCT until 5:50 AM. i'm worried that i wont get a good spot in the pen, but hell, it's still in the pen!! :dance:

I can't help laughing about how we're going to be in the VIP pen. Seriously makes us sound like barnyard animals or something!

Also, if you go to that Today Show site Pallavi posted, find a link to the "Summer Concert Series Slideshow." The first picture that comes up is Kenny Chesney surrounded by a gaggle of screaming, cowboy-hatted women. However, they all have shiny passes around their necks. Possibly VIP passes? Is that how close we could be? I'd post a direct link, but it's a Flash slideshow, so you'll have to find it yourself unfortunately!
