So I'm sitting here and listening to the new album, and I have to say that The Escapist just blew me away. I had downloaded the leaked version, but for some reason, this song never hit me properly until I had the actual album in my ipod.

Chris's vocals are just amazing on this track. It's a great finish to a great album.

It's probably my least favorite tied with "Reign of Love". Maybe it'll grow.

i think it tops off the album perfectly, but as far as its own song i wouldnt think so much of it...they did well by sticking it onto DAAHF

I think it's great, and I may be the only one who relates to it as well:)

this is ludicrous, it's like saying the synth intro of violet hill is the best part of the album.

that's all it is.
it's not even a composed piece by coldplay.

it's a john hopkins piece.

I couldn't place it above or below any other songs on the album, but being that I enjoy every song, then yes it is one of the best. The cello part is difficult to hear unless you are attentive and not distracted by anything, but once I heard it, my life was changed.

BTW 2732, I like the cynical definition of America. The sad thing is that I agree hahaha!

I love it. I love both Life in Technicolor and this. Death And All His Friends/The Escapist makes for one of Coldplay's most epic moments, ever. Period.

I don't really think you can call it a song. it's just an outro really with two lines of words. nice way to finish the album

Yeah, I think it's a pretty genius way to end the album--even though it's totally ripped off from Abbey Road and probably many other things
I love it. The melody is beautiful, and the lyrics are amazing.

It's awesome, it brings you back tot the real world after listening to VLVODEAHF.
It's Brilliant, making the Intro en Outro with the same background tune, it makes the album end perfectly.

It's not even written by Coldplay, it's by Jon Hopkins(try listening to Lights Through The Veins by him, beautiful song), plus one line repeated twice by Coldplay.
