My friend from work saw Van Halen last week, he said the concert was amazing!

Seriously?! Was it the pyrotechnics or the actual music that was amazing? :P

Jacob
10-07-2004, 08:38 PM
I don't know about that. haha My friend at work told me he got plastered hours before the concert actually happened. haha. He told me from the best of what he could remember, the music was awesome!

Once I got so drunk and THOUGHT I was going to go see Marillion but apparently I went to Riverdance.

But to this day I still say Marillion ROCKED

yo, whats with the attitude towards Van Halen?

I guess it's nothing personal toward Van Halen, I think they had their moments, but c'mon, who really wants to see hair swishing and sparks flying?!
Maybe they're alright, I'm just pissed cause no one I like has come to town yet, well except for Clapton but I'm not into him enough to pay the expensive ticket price, so I missed that one. :/

I may shell out the cash to see Phil Collins in August,
just maybe.

Jacob

aww. I'm in Toronto, and everybody comes here guaranteed, but by the time tickets come on sale, they all sell out in like ten seconds for the bands I want to see. So yea, I haven't seen a band I liked yet either.

Next year, or whenever Pearl Jam comes, I'm getting good tickets, no matter what the cost!

Ooh I saw Pearl Jam like 10 years ago.. I loved that concert.
They rocked!! We were close to the stage, and I swear Mr. Vedder pointed at me whilst I was on my husband's shoulders. :o
(At least I'll always believe he did!)

Starla Stargazer :D
10-07-2004, 11:53 PM
Yes, I was married at the age of 17! :o

I think him and I were still just b/f- g/f at the time of the concert, but we got married shortly after!

I actually think I wanna marry my current girlfriend (Pretty soon), but I assume shes sick of me or will be sick of me once we get married

Aw, thanks. :)

Everyone was like "you guys are just in lust, not love", or "you're pregnant aren't you!??" we were insulted, because we KNEW we loved each other and it wasn't either one of the things people were assuming!! :)

I wish you the best with your girlfriend, I'm sure if you both love each other you'll learn to live with each other just fine!! :)

HAHA  There's this neighbor kid who runs around pleading with his cousin to "Be Van Helsing, James! Be Van Helsing!" The tone he uses is classic, I can't even describe it.

Just thought I'd mention that even though it's one of those "you gotta be there" type of a thing.

I've been a fan since I was a wee lil kid since my parents are such big fans. I'm definitely a fan of the David Lee Roth era. what's your fav song?

I came across this iVan Halen tribute cd the other day called Strummin' with the Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halen. It seems pretty interesting, it's Van Halen covers in the style of bluegrass, and David Lee Roth is singing on two of the songs.. I've never known an artist to do something like that.

There's some clips and more info on the official site

I used to be a VH fan in highschool and I just heard the bluegrass version of Jump today on CBC Radio. I oculd have sworn it was DLR singing but my friend insisted I was full of it and asked why I thought Diamond Dave would bother with something like that. THank you for clearing that up.

heh, no problem. the two songs he does are Jump and Jamie's Cryin' - the latter is online right now, and sounds great. I can't wait to get the CD when it comes out.

I love Van Halen (well Classic DLR Van Halen anyways)! I love Hot for Teacher, such a classic song. But my fav song would have to be I'm the One from their first album. Eddie is probably the best guitarist that ever walked this earth.

I like Early Van Halen, their albums with David Lee Roth were fantastic. Sammy Hagar annoys me, though.

Their last album, VH3, wasn't too bad. I never could understand why so many people hate it.

Eddie was taught on classical organ and piano?? Seems to me - the intro to one of their songs he did a most excellent job on the keyboard!;)

I used to be obsessed with this band in HS. Now I rarely listen to them. My Favorite album would have to be their first though
