Which version does it for you and why?

I prefer the organ heavy thumping of the album version...I love the direction they took it in and it fit so well in the #3 slot on the album...I know people claiming to be Coldplay purists prefer the simple piano of the solo version but, although a nice track to have, it doesn't convey the dynamic nature of the band at this point and to have a more piano based slimmed down version would have been a step back in terms of the direction of the album...

At first I thought it was really cheesy but after a while I've grown to love it.

It was a really hard decision but I've got to say I do prefer the album version. Has so much soul to it.

^what? i love the title!

^yep, you do and me too... but many people didn't like it at all when they first heard it a few months ago. same goes for yes and strawberry swing, which turned out to be outstanding songs as well, in my opinion.

and that's why you simply can't judge by a title. i said that so many times back then :P

To be honest when i heard the acoustic version of lost i was completely amazed , it was one of those songs that i liked instantly , this gave me high hopes for the album version. But i hate the album version , i was so disappointed with it !! the acoustic should have made the album not just as a bonus track !!

i'm more used to the solo piano one, so i am not liking the album version, but hey usually the song that i dislike at first turns to become my fave song so...

i can't decide yet.

When I first heard the acoustic version I loved it, listened to it many times in a row. The album version isn't bad, I listen to both as both give away a different experience.

Has to be the album version.

It is a classic Coldplay album, it's the new Fix You and the lyrics are superb!!!

Pardon the pun, The beauty of the lyrics get "lost" in the album version. Its good but, the accoustic version is great!

Had I not heard the accoustic version 1st. Id have less appreciation for the album version.

i'm in love with the album version, it's really momentous and epic

the acoustic version loses a bit of the album version's 'oomph' IMHO, it feels kinda watered down and weak whereas that excellent rhythm section on the album is so forceful

I did not expect the album version would beat the acoustic one but it does. The rhythmand mainly the amazing guitar solo make Lost! to one of the best of this album.

when i heard the acoustic version i thought to myself, "shit, coldplay is just great. chris's lyrical prowess is amazing."

i mean, when i first heard, "just because I'm losing, doesn't mean I'm lost" even before chris said it was the heart of the album, the line struck me. the whole song did. i think you lose its heart with the bigger louder album version, and i think i wouldnt enjoy the album version nearly as much if i wasnt thinking back to the acoustic.

that being said I don't dislike it either. its still pretty good on the album.

The piano version is more personal i feel, its has that old fashioned, Chris meets piano - piano has orgasm mood to it. which is always good

However, the album version is great also, the arrangement of the music and the rhythm are perfectly harmonized together, and the drumming is out of this world

The ending of the album version, with the soaring vocals in the background is the highlight of the song for me, its just brilliant.

I prefer the solo version, without any doubt. When I heard it for the first time I already knew that the album one wouldn't top it. For me it's the good old Coldplay style.

The piano version is so simple and soft and beautiful and has such a power, lyrical-wise.

I hated the album version (in comparison) when I first heard it, but it's starting to grow on me. I still feel like the beautiful lines like "just because I'm losing doesn't mean I'm lost" kinda get lost in all that rhythm and sound in the album version..

i like the acoustic one more because it's so pure. Chris' voice is much more present to and that's not a bad thing.
It's the only song of the new songs that can ( still ) grab me by the throat.

when i first listened to the album version it sounded like a remix of the acoustic one :P
but like many of you say : it's a song that grows on you. but it will never top the acoustic version !

Exactly my thoughts!..."sounded like a remix of the acoustic version"

Both efforts to be respected in their own right, but for me, the solo is ...so...so..

I've only just heard the album version for the first time so maybe I just need a few more listens, but at this point I definitely prefer the acoustic version.

both are brilliant in their own way.

Took the words right out of my mouth (which is a little ironic since we share the same name.) I like both equally, just depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

Well im a guitar player in a band, and in the last 6 months ive been picking up piano. I love the way the piano sounds, and I think chris does such a good job on the Lost? acoustic track. So ima have to go with it.

Idioteque.

I like them both but I think that the album version is better. It stuck out as the best song during my first listen through the album.
