ovvio, due date dei Coldplay in due giorni tolgono il medico di torno e fanno bene alla salute
voglio sentire Chris che dice di nuovo "you're the best crowd we ever had in our whole life, and this is gonna be the best closing of a concert you've ever seen in your whole life" (o giù di lì :P)

It seems there will only be seats, no standing tickets, not even for the GA...which is rather strange, it's the first time ever that this is going to happen in this venue for a concert
yay :dozey:
I wonder what time I need to be in queue to get average seats then

This (http://img479.imageshack.us/img479/9509/datchforumwx3.jpg) is the map, the gold circle (tribuna gold) is the one fronting the stage behind the parterre (floor) where myself will be squashed against the rail, I hope :laugh3:

Thanks for the map, iriden. I'm actually a bit disappointed - since they were the most expensive tickets I thought they would be in the best place. I didn't think I'd be right at the back... :(

07-06-2008, 11:03 AM
Yeah I know, I didn't know what kind of tickets they were at the beginning, but then someone explained it to me and I sticked with the GA ones, just because I want to be in the mosh

18-06-2008, 03:19 PM
Do you know if there are still tickets left for Standing GA ? I'm dying to buy 2 cause i'll be in Milano in that period so i MUSTN'T miss this opportunity to see Colplay Live.
iriden
19-06-2008, 01:42 PM
Uhm, not sure, I mean not online, they say they're waiting for more tickets to be available, so keep checking here (http://www.ticketone.it/newsComplete.jsp?idCat=51&cdNews=191799&idCatPT=529&cdProductCity=MIC22008CO0930&cdProductSelected=MIC22008CO0930) (standing tickets are called parterre). If you're in Milan you could come to the venue in any case, I'm sure you'll find someone who will sell you a ticket, but try to avoid scalpers

Well if you got part in the latest competition from coldplay.com maybe you can win the two front row tickets
even though I don't know how they can grant you to be, or better say, to remain front row since is a standing gig and people are gonna fight for it :laugh3::laugh3:

Woot I really hope too, if they're doing Festivals next year then there is only one they can do in Italy, the Heineken Jammin Festival, and it's in Venice :D
I actually thought about going to Budapest since it's two years in a row I'm going there for the Sziget Festival and I know the city, but I had problems with taking other days off work.
I'm sure you will enjoy the show and let's hope they will do like last year's South American tour and sing some old songs :nice:

Milan.
I’m writing this one from the Oxfam and Ucodep stall on the concourse. The crowd are singing along to a special acoustic version of ‘The Scientist’..
The hallway just got cleared.. I know what that means! Here they come..
The band just ran past the Oxfam stall. Chris Martin waved at some of the volunteers who were standing here. That was a good moment for us to remember. They are now back on stage, playing ‘Politik’. The stobe lights are flashing, and Will Champion is beating the life out of those drums! “Open up your eyes!”.
Maybe that’s what our volunteers helped some of the crowd do tonight before they went in. Open up their eyes, on the issue of Health and Education For All (Salute Acqua Istruzione Per Tutti), in Italiano.
Elisa Bacciotti, the star of popular mobilisation for Oxfam International and Ucodep in Italy, is standing next to me, waiting for the volunteers to come back after the show for one last bit of campaigning, before hopefully, they all head home into the Milan night, with a big smile on their faces!
She very kindly translated my briefing earlier to the volunteers. My Italian is terrible. Here’s a few words from her..
“Come on Pete! My English is terrible too! We really worked well together. It’s really something exciting to be here! If I think back in 2003 when I saw Coldplay in Rome, I already worked for Ucodep and I was wondering what could these two horizontal lines on Chris Martin’s hand mean? (Oxfam Make Trade Fair symbol)…Oxfam was not in Italy at the time, Ucodep was a tiny NGO, and here we are, 5 years later, Ucodep and Oxfam at the Coldplay concerts, saying to everybody IL POTERE E NELLE TUE MANI / E ORA DI UN MONDO PIU GIUSTO (YOU‘VE GOT POWER. IT’S TIME FOR JUSTICE)…. Thanks to our 40 volunteers, they were fantastic, really. It was an incredible start up for our PER TUTTI (FOR ALL) campaign!”
I think that’s amazing. I totally agree that the volunteers have been great. However, there is one part I disagree with. Elisa’s English is great!
The volunteers are coming back now with more signed action cards for PER TUTTI. Which just launched here last weekend. These Coldplay fans tonight (cheering for the encore right now)..have the power together to help give us all a fairer world. I am sure that they can be the start of something big for this campaign here in Italy.
The curtain is coming down on the shows in Italy. Coldplay are rounding off another great night with those ‘Yellow’ lights.. It’s been amazing here. I am sad to be leaving so soon. But next up.. We have Oxfam Novib and Rotterdam…
The Oxfam sphere of being shown above the crowd as ‘The Escapist’ plays over the stereo, and the fans leave the venue. Great show. Great group of volunteers. Great night. Job done. Well.. almost.. it’s load-out time again.

yea i definately understand why youre mad. i still have another concert ahead so i can still be hopefuly that i will get a setlist like this one but i can understand how after getting the standard setlist you feel a bit cheated. it boggles my mind that they still get away with playing ths same exact setlist for an entire tour. thats one of the reasons why i still respect radiohead's live shows a ton more than coldplays. theyll light show is actually BETTER than coldplay's yet they can still completely switch up the order of their songs every night. plus rather than play their mainstream hits (high and dry, creep etc) they instead play the song that they know the true fans actually like. coldplay on the other hand pretty much only play their big hits and ignore such songs such as warning sign, see you soon and amsterdam which are CLEARLY the TRUE fan favorites.
sorry to completely go off on coldplay (especially on a night where they actually decided the change it up a bit) but i understand why strawberry swinger is mad because that makes me mad too!

But the concert was great even if there were some voices before the show reporting that Chris had influence!

I'm at work and I don't have time to write anything meaningful right now..but this concert kicked ass seriously, I'm still over the moon..front row, Don't Panic and a tiny little bit of Shiver, everyone singing every single note of every single song, their huge smiles from beginning to end
it was epic..I still can't believe they actually changed the setlist from the night before :nice:

Coldplay, le scalette (e le differenze) delle due date italiane: Bologna 29/9 e Milano 30/9
http://static.blogo.it/soundsblog/ColdplayLive2008.JPG

^ Maybe being on the front with everyone around you singing covered Chris' voice a bit..I don't know, I think he sounded great too :D
Coldplay, le scalette (e le differenze) delle due date italiane: Bologna 29/9 e Milano 30/9
Translation:
The two concerts of Coldplay in Italy confirmed how much our country loves the English band. Not just for the soldout: it could be seen by the reactions on networking sites, blogs and various communities (including Soundsblog!) these days. By the way: the balloons that have invaded the parterre were there thanks to the Italian site ColdplayZone.
It really doesn't matter that Chris Martin's voice was not the best (especially in Bologna): the acclamation was total. So much so that in Assago, overwhelmed by the warmth of the fans, the band leader said (and we want to believe him): "you are the best audience we've ever had," referring to Italy.
After showing you our gallery of pictures from Milan, here's the setlist for both nights. They're mostly the same, showing some small changes: while in Bologna they played "The Hardest Part", the audience in Milan was able to hear also "Don't Panic" and "Reign Of Love" and part of "Shiver". Here's the two detailed setlist.
Don't Panic, ci sono i Coldplay!
Translation:
Don't Panic..Coldplay are here!
I arrive at the Forum and I'm surprised that Coldplay audience is very heterogeneous, I would have expected mostly people in their 20s and 30s but the age range to 50. My "neighbour" on the rail called the babysitter telling her to put the son in bed no later than 9:30, she is an example of the most die-hard fans of Chris Martin!
The music of Coldplay has managed to conquer everyone over the years and the concert makes you understand why!
Chris Martin is a real enchanter: he runs, jumps, trying to involve the public even at the expense of his singing. The concert is full of surprises, at the end of a catwalk there's a mini stage where they perform four songs and after a break they appear in the second ring to do the acoustic version of "The Scientist".
The show is full of emotions, songs already very enthralling on CD are even better thanks to a fervent audience singing from beginning to end, "Fix You" is a real gem, a duet with the public.
Chris Martin is a true stage animal, playful in his attitudes with the public and extremely enthralling while performing, which is something not everyone can do!
The only flaw is perhaps how they played some beautiful songs, Talk above all, in a "techno" style, which I would have gladly done without.
However definitely a concert that leaves you satisfied, happy to shout "Viva la Vida"!
PS: Advise for the male audience: If your girlfriend asks you to accompany her to see Coldplay and you don't like them, don't do that, you would prevent your girlfriend from looking dreamly at Chris Martin before turning disconsolate towards you. I like Coldplay, but I didn't avoid this scene.

Italians are hiding here, wtf I don't want to be alone writing reviews for the shows in Bologna and Milan :disappointed:
well anyway..still hyper excited from the night before I managed to sleep only 2hours in order to take the 5:30 am train from Bologna to Milan. Once arrived we met with another friend and went to leave backpacks at the hotel we were going to stay after the concert.
We arrived at the Datchforum at about 10, and already more than 30 people were waiting, some were there as early as 7, if not before.
The weather was not as good as the day before but luckily it didn't rain. Time passed til at 5pm they started to control the tickets and one hour later the doors opened. I swear running to catch the rail is something exausting, I tried to follow some friends of mine (coldpatrix being one of them), they were on the right were the catwalk begins, but I realised there was still a spot on the rail more to the center, and yes second night on the front, I still can't believe it :nice:
Had with me my banner for Guy once again (which he saw and sported again a huge smile seeing it :wacky:), you never know they could play just a tiny bit of CoW, but there were so many other banners requesting songs that I knew it was more easy for them to play Shiver like three years ago.
I don't want to go through every song, but the concert was even better than Bologna, Chris played Don't Panic and Reign of Love as you already know, and everyone there in front went crazy, fans from both the Italian fansites so you get how the atmosphere was. Chris even recognised my banner while introducing Cemeteries of London and told me "Ok see you in Dublin" at the end of Yellow after reading another banner I made..I know, stupid things but hey, since I never met him in person that's the closest I got :P
Well words can't describe how fantastic this concert was..just read Millers's blog and you get what I mean, we are LOUDEST audience and we love them
I'm already counting down the days to Dublin, I would be utterly depressed if I didn't have other gigs to look forward to, and insanity is telling me to take the opportunity and add Belfast as well now that it has been rescheduled, we'll see
and now I'm gonna upload my two videos on youtube, Don't Panic+Reign of Love+Postcards and Chinese Sleep Chant (even thought for the second the audio is not the best). I'll post the link when they're done :)

Yes front row between Chris and Guy..I didn't touch him but got two mentions, he recognised my banner from Bologna and said "ok, see you in Dublin" at the end cause I was holding up another banner with that sentence, so I can't really complain :nice:

Chris is always so nice and thoughtful with the fans....and you've been so lucky ;)
I was not so close, but I had the temptation to jump on the stage when they came just under my seat! :D
So you were also in Bologna....I would have liked too, but I'm from Sardinia so it was a bit difficult for me to go in both places....
Can't wait for the next concert!

My review:
Two pure and absolute live masterpieces. There are no other words to describe the excellence, emotional thrill and above all the uniqueness of these two concerts, that Coldplay held at Palamalaguti in Bologna and Datchforum in Milan, on 29 September and 30 September respectively.
The two gigs were really eagerly-awaited and tickets had already run out during the days just after they were put up for sale; and actually both venues were really packed, as expected. But that sold out is understandable given the only fact that the passion of Italian people for the four Brit guys has always been growing. After all, 'we're a country of passionate singers’, Chris Martin said in 2005.
We slept only few hours and (after some good jokes) the staff of Coldplayzone moves to Milan, at the Datchforum, ready to live hard another magic night.
The queue to enter the parterre is one and as the staff arrives at the building, there's already some guys and girls mainly, also coming from Sardinia to live the show. All the Coldplayzoners that were missing in Bologna but equally longing to see the show, plus the Milan 'survivors', arrive little by little: some come from Milan, some from Rome, Naples, Reggio Calabria. It's sure as hell: nobody would ever miss this emotion.
In the morning, as happened at Palamalaguti, the banner of Coldplayzone was strung up on the fence of Dutchforum. And suddenly our minds remember last night. And to those that did not have those memories, some thoughts are now good hopes.
In the afternoon the distribution of the balloons begins. We do not have many balloons and we get a little discouraged. We were ready to repeat the choreography also here in Milan, but balloons are actually lacking. So the seeking starts: the balloons are bought in the neighbourhood or brought by friends, and then distributed.
We try to make up for it. We really want Miller to shoot a video of that colours' rain that surprised Bologna, to be put later on Coldplay.com, since no one was expecting nothing like this, and therefore, it was not shot a video of that amazing choreography.
The doors open and as we turn around it was clear that everyone was supported by other people: a real Italian 'music army', united and ready to scream ‘Viva La Vida’.
All were running to the stage, and finally we all get in. We're more than yesterday: 17.000. The gallery becomes full very quickly and everybody can't wait to (re)-see the band performance.
The atmosphere is different tonight. We're even more playful. We've the inkling that this atmosphere would multiply. We are waiting the end of the supporting act performed by Albert Hammon Jr. (definitely more lively than yesterday).
And then...here they are. There's a camera, that is shooting everything. On the screen, the live images of the camera are showed, producing a 'domino effect' of the shaking balloons. And the fear about not showing our choreography, like we did in Bologna, is suddenly swept away by hundreds of coloured balloons. A huge amount, so huge that Coldplay are again astonished.
‘Life In Technicolor’ is played with more energy, and then 'Violet Hill’ embodies all the enthusiasm the audience has been waiting for: the strength of their sound. At the end of the performance of the first release of 'Viva La Vida Or Death And Al His Friends’, Chris makes the lights on and thanks the audience of Milan and all the Italian people. They weren't expecting so much warmth. But we have to say that: we've been waiting for three years to give them this warmth!
‘Clocks’ is obviously a masterpiece, with those lasers and those piano keys, waiting for Chris' hands to played them by memory. We dance. ‘In My Place’ involves everyone. We sing. ‘Speed Of Sound’ resounds, like a powerful and precise sound. We sing and dance.
‘Cemeteries Of London’ is perfect, the setlist is the same of yesterday, and the band plays ‘Chinese Sleep Chant’ with more energy. Also ‘42’ is sung by everyone and, thanks to a middle part perfectly performed by Jon Buckland and his guitar, it enters our souls.
Then the organ of ‘Fix You’ and it's pure passion. No one can possibly be silent and retain his voice, we join Chris singing. The last part of the song, as usual, is sung by everybody and makes Chris to repeat the 'names' ‘Bravissimi!’ and ‘Perfetto!’ as soon as he can. The atmosphere is getting really excited and the intimacy between Coldplay and the audience enhances its strength.
Then ‘Strawberry Swing’, and like yesterday, its the refrain perfectly describes how we feel: today is such a ‘perfect day’. Jonny Buckland is great, plucking the strings so purely and genuinely that, closing the eyes, some people can see Ireland.
Then, the more astonishing moment of the evening: the band moves to the B-Stage, on the right of the main stage (and of the audience) and they perform the two alternative versions of ‘God Put A Smile Upon Your Face and ‘Talk’, with those waving beams of laser lights that remember us of a bird flying. Then, the band leaves Chris alone with his piano and what was unbelievable happened, obviously in a nice way: for the first time in this tour, a superb ‘Don’t Panic’ is fully performed. Delicate, smooth, light, sinuous and so unexpected that it's really appreciated from the first note. Martin decides to offer to us a grand performance of the song that opens the album ‘Parachutes’ and he really gets the singing of the audience carried away, so whispering and soft. We can't sing out right now: it's the best way to talk to ourselves.
After a never-ending ovation, it's the turn of a song, rarely performed live during this tour: ‘Reign Of Love’, a beautiful ballad, entirely played. There's only few balloons flying, the fans are now quietly listen to those piano notes, played with an enchanting perfection. Then, ‘Postcards From Far Away’. A trilogy of songs played on the eighty-eight ivory keys that the fans will never forget.
Just a second to come down to earth, and the notes of the Violectra of Davide Rossi and the drum of Will Champion carry us back to the main stage, to savour the most awaited song, that makes the entire world dance – like a bad fever – youths, the older ones, girls and family men, those that are not so young anymore and housewives not so desperate at all, all together: ‘Viva La Vida’. The main choir is so powerful, so unbreakable and so wholehearted sung that no one could or should miss it. Before the last choir, Chris says some words of an Albert Hammond Jr.' piece, ‘In Transit’. Then it's the end of the world. Will sings so loudly, as he was the ruined king described in the song. That's living a song…
And then ‘Lost!’ and its peculiar drumline. The dance of Chris in the middle of the stage says it all. It shakes our bodies and minds like a tribal dance from that Africa that he closely knows (his mother has Zimbabwean origins) and he wants to share it with us. It's a song that proves that this album has a multi-ethnic inspiration. Great. All the world is enclosed in it, and this live version is making it clear to everybody.
We can stop running. So many stairs, and stairs again, more steps, and finally here is the band on the gallery for the acoustic set with ‘The Scientist’ (really cheered by the audience, because it's a very well known fact, we Italians like love songs) and the Champion's ‘Death Will Never Conquer’ with a superb mouth organ played part by Chris Martin. Then the four guys talked about a possible song to be played, but the ‘Viva La Vida’ remix is pressing on and splits the show in two parts: back again on the main stage.
As the pair of piano-drums of ‘Politik’ starts, a swirl of strobe lights runs over us. Great vocal interpretation by Chris and brilliant e and the bass notes of Guy Berryman on the final part. ‘Love Over This’…
A rain of coloured paper butterflies enhances the ambience that eternizes this show as we listen to the central part of ‘Lovers In Japan’. What more could we ask? Some paper butterflies are picked up to be later given to friends, relatives, acquaintances, or to be jealously hold for ourselves. After all, they will remind to us about the joy we felt and that endlessly coloured rain.
On ‘Death And All His Friends’ the friendship of Datchforum are now sealed, the hugs are more close, the air fills up with so many emotions. But one of them is the most passionate: the immense exciting power of the music, that distinguishes Coldplay in the music history. And on the final choir, the verse ‘I Don’t Wanna Follow Death And All His Friends’ is like a postcard of this evening. We can admire the best music in the world, because we are here, we're living...
The band is in the backstage now, but they are compelled to come back. The audience is calling them, to hear them performing some other hits, that cannot be missing. As they appear on the stage, an unceasing request: ‘Yellow!’. So, why not? Here we go, a sudden start of the song. Chris already knows he is not going to sing it: 'It's our turn'. Everyone welcome. And the ‘Yeah’s, that belong to that song, resound in the building like a earthquake rumbling.
At the end of the song, Chris plucks his guitar's strings with those notes that the long standing fans carry in their DNA and would recognize even blindfolded or turned upside down. On these notes, there's only a verse you can sing: ‘Don’t You Shiver, Shiver, Shiver…’. And that's enough. Only fifteen seconds are worth almost two hours of this show, that could be defined with tons of adjectives, among which we can possibly pick this one: ‘unforgettable’.
How can we come back home and go to sleep after a show like this? How can we possibly come back to our quiet life after such a hot emotion? How can we think that Coldplay weren't giving us all we need? Sure, ‘We can't'. It's only consent. But it's the fairest and greatest consent that Italian supporters would ever want to be given.
No voice anymore, in a sweat, with shattered legs and numbed arms, we go back home. Still smiling. Coldplay were magic. We can only invite those who missed it to appreciate them and this world: VIVA LA VIDA!
