Bought my tickets this morning hihi! :D

Anyone knows about parking at the Color Line Arena? Is there enough space? Perhaps any multi-storey car park in the area? I'm toying with the idea to drive to Hamburg by car, because the arena is situated in the suburb of Hamburg.

winnie
28-05-2008, 09:04 PM
Parking should be okay there, there's plenty of space as long as there's nothing goin' on in the HSH-Nordbank-Arena.

Using Park-and-Ride-service is recommended, though - there's always a shuttle-service between the nearest S-Bahn-station and the arena and using public transport should be for free with THAT ticket prices ;)

by the way: you get there by public transport this way (if anybody is interested)
Hamburg Central Station -> take the http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0e/Hamburg_S21.svg/33px-Hamburg_S21.svg.png [direction Elbgaustraße] OR http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a0/Hamburg_S3.svg/33px-Hamburg_S3.svg.png (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Hamburg_S3.svg) [direction Pinneberg] until the station called Stellingen.
go downstairs, follow the ARENA-Signs
pass the tunnel -> there's the shuttle bus-station [attention: shuttle-service starts approx 1-2 hours before the concert begins!]
If you're there earlier or just want to go afoot keep on following the ARENA-Signs, you should be there in 1/2 to 3/4 hours

Larry
28-05-2008, 09:18 PM
Wow thanks Felix!

I remember that I once visited a football game in the AOL-Arena (now HSH-Nordbank-Arena) which is next to the Color Line Arena and it took me at least 30 minutes to reach the S-Bahn station Stellingen afoot, because the shuttle-buses were overcrowded. Do you know if there are better conditions after a concert than after a football game?

winnie
28-05-2008, 09:26 PM
Well, Sarah and me got a bus after James Blunt quite quickly, yeah, but it was pretty darn stuffed with people... It was the same after the Roger Waters concert.
If you can't cope such masses of people, you better wait a few minutes until the heat dies down ;)

[lars, hast du 'n steh- oder sitzplatz?]

Larry
28-05-2008, 09:39 PM
Thanks for your experience Felix! Luckily I don't have claustrophobia, but after a concert I will probably be too lazy to walk at least 30 minutes to the next S-Bahn station. :D

The Bundesliga scheduled the following games and thankfully Hamburger SV will already play one day earlier, on Saturday (September 13th) against Bayer Leverkusen so it's easier to find a car park at the concert. :)

Oh and by the way, some tickets are available again on...

soooooooooooo excited and about to go to the venue!!!
the weather is brilliant in hamburg, just a bit cold, but the sun is shining.

oh, and for anyone who might be waiting for my review tonight: i'm sorry, but i probably won't be at the computer anymore. after stalking around a bit we expect to be back home at maybe 2 am and then we'll have to get up at 6 am to go to berlin (seeing them again tomorrooooow!!!)

so yeah, we really have to try getting some sleep.
will be back on tuesday night, at the latest ;) or maybe i'll pop in tomorrow morning.

Larry
14-09-2008, 09:43 AM
I'm going to drive to Hamburg in about less than an hour I think.

I agree weather is fantastic, but sooooo cold! Don't forget a cap Sarah lol! Why do I always think I will forget something?

Oh and I'll be back at around 2am or 3am and my train to Berlin will start tomorrow early in the morning so I probably don't have time to write a review either. Sorry! :( But I will definitely do it later on I promise.

So here we are in Hamburg. The Color Line Arena. The rigging is going up. The morning is growing old. The Coldplay tour has rolled into town. ‘Oxfam’ (as some of the crew call me), is here too.

The show in Cologne, was another triumph for both the band, and Oxfam. 1472 was the number of Coldplay fans who gave their voice to our petition. Showing the German government that they care about unfair agricultural policies, which further marginalise small-scale farmers. Those people all pushing in the same direction, for a fairer world without poverty. That was a great effort by the team, and set a new record for the tour im Deutschland.

I took my chance to take in most of the show on Friday night too. Albert Hammond Jnr is still doing a great job of warming up the crowd, surely building their fan base in every city they pick up guitars. Coldplay live is a real spectacle. It would be easy to either close your eyes, or block out the sound, and still enjoy the show. Lights, confetti, screens, spheres and lasers, all add to the action on stage. Andy, the video director, knows the music so well, that the screens make the most of the sounds coming off-stage. Each song has it’s own twist, and builds on a great show. I am impressed. The band and crew have hit their stride in Europe. Leaping from city to city and absorbing huge audiences every step of the way.

I had a run on my day off yesterday, to take in Hamburg. It’s a very interesting place. I never imagined it to be anything like what I saw. The centre had a real carnival atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. The port area was bustling with tourists. Run out of the city though, and there were people lining the river to take in evening sun. I hope to get a glimpse of Berlin too, before we head North later in the week..

Perhaps the boys will still be there maybe. hmmmmm

Yeah, I wouldn't trust them. Security people do lie very often. I met them after a security person said they weren't there.

I asked my security Guy and he was like: maybe they are maybe they aren't

and I was like oh come on man be honest is it worth staying or not
and then he said: I suggest you wait a little longer... (or something like that)

LOST!

No not me.. i’m in Hamburg, just like Coldplay. They are about 30 meters away from me, just finishing the end of ‘Lost!’, from their new album ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’.

Now I can hear the crowd screaming.. which might mean they are about to play a special acoustic section, somewhere in the arena.

The show is sold out again. These guys seem pretty popular you know.. Oxfam has again played it’s part in the evening. People stopping to ask who we are, ask about the shops, ask about ‘Unwrapped (http://www.oxfam.org/en/getninvolved/unwrapped)‘, ask about OXJAM (http://www.oxfam.org.uk/get_involved/fundraise/oxjam/index.php?ito=2415&itc=0), ask how they can raise money in the marathon they are doing next week… ask why we are at a Coldplay concert in Hamburg? Because they invited us, of course.

The message is simple. It’s written on my wrist.

“Deine Stimme Gegen Armut”. (Give your voice against poverty). Oxfam.

Time for the encore. . . (once the band have run past this little office, back to the stage!)

It was so sad at the end, but then I realized, Berlin's coming today!

Damn I came back home at 2.30am and now I don't have much time as I have to pack my bag for Berlin and my train is leaving soon. I'm exhausted!

Thanks to Sarah, Felix, Nele and Dennis (Felix's flat mate) for this wonderful and very very cold day. We had so much fun thw whole time!!!. :nice:

Sadly we had no chance to meet the band afterwards. The security told us they already left the arena to catch a flight back to London. We didn't trust them and waited for a long time, but without success. At the end I was quite happy to reach my car, because some gates have already been closed lol. But that's a different story haha.

Uhh I can't remember that!

But Chris tried to speak German sometimes. :D He had to admit that his German is "scheiße" though haha.

Ohhh and the most funny thing... When he starts with "Death And All Of His Friends" he first sang...

"All summer we got carried"

Then he stops and said, "shit it's winter"...

so he tried it again...

"All winter we got carried"

Then he stops again, because he wasn't sure and said it was very cold on stage. At the end he asked Will which version is correct. :D :D Sooo funny!

What is that interesting-looking "B" there? I thought he said the German word for "shit." But it sounds like shysta or something. You spell it with that "B"?

Whoa, what a great night. My first Coldplay concert ever and I absolutely loved it. At first I thought I had to go alone, but then my little cousin said she'd go with me, which is kinda crazy, because she's not really into Coldplay and such music ... She likes US5, a crappy boygroup.

Our seats weren't that good and our block and especially our row was lame ... there were some elderly couples who just sat there. I was lucky that they at least clapped their hands from time to time ...

It was so cold in the hall. The support act already said that it was freezing in there. My cousin never took off her coat and I never really stopped clapping my hands in order to stay warm.

I just had to get up for the opening, although many people around me didn't. And suddenly I was the only one standing, I felt so stupid, so I sat during "Clocks" and "In my place". However, that couldn't keep me from screaming "Yeeeaaaah!" and singing along ... desperatly trying to motivate the people around me. :laugh3:

"Chinese Sleep Chant" was amazing. I really felt like banging my head. Jonny did the best job ever! I was blown away. :D

My favourite part of the show was definitely "Viva la Vida" and then "Lost!". The floor was vibrating under my feet. I stood there and danced and sang. And an elderly guy behind me looked at me like I was some kind of lunatic. Anyway, I just had to dance! I was so happy and overwhelmed by the atmosphere and the rythm. I really loved the "oooooohhhhh ooooohhhh ooooohhhh ohhhh" during Viva la Vida. AMAZING.

Chris was really funny. At some point he apoligised for his German skills saying "My German is scheiße (shit)". :laugh3: Although I must admit that the few words he said weren't that bad after all. :wink3:
He also said that they had some kind of "special connection" to Germany and the German fans and it just keeps on getting "better and better and better and greater and greater".

There was a medley of "God put a smile upon my face" and "Talk". I must admit that I didn't really like this version of GPASUMF, what Jonny did whith his guitar sounded kinda weird.

Chris also rambled something about their concert philosophy and that it had to get worse to get better again. Then he played "The hardest part" on the piano. I really melted away. That was so beautiful. I really don't get why he doesn't like that song. :inquisitive:

On the second stage somewhere at the back of the hall (of course not on my side) they played "The Scientist" and "Death will never conquer me". Will looked so cute while he sang. :D
Chris said something like "We thought we'd give the people here at the back a chance to see how lovely-looking we are". :wink3:

I think after the break they played "Politik", which is great, because that's the one song I desperately wanted to see live. At that point I didn't really care about the people around me anymore. I just screamed "Open up your eyes!" as loud as I could. :laugh3: (Of course weird guy behind me was looking at me again ...)

The beginning of "Death and all his friends" was quite funny as well. "Chis started "All winter we ...." and then again "All summer ..." and then asked someone for the lyrics commenting the whole thing with "It's so freaking cold in this room I can't even remember which season it is" ... I absolutely agreed. :laugh3:

"Lovers in Japan" was sooo beautiful and I already started to feel sad, because I knew that this is usually their last song. I was literally living that song, so I forgot to take pics of the beautiful confetti effects.
And at the end I was trying to remember what song they haven't played. I knew something was missing. But then the band came back to stage and "Yellow" started and I just screamed "For you I bleed myself dry!!!". I sang along the complete song. It was overwhelming ...

My cousin really enjoyed the concert. She even bought a poster of the band. :laugh3: And then she asked me who the guitarist whithout the cap was, because he looked really cute. :laugh3: She meant Guy of course. :D
But according to her the singer was kinda "yucky" and the drummer looked "strange" ... oh well, she's a pubescent teenie after all. :laugh3: She just doesn't know what's good! :wink3:
It took us about 15 minutes to get out of the arena. The exit doors were completely blocked. :laugh3:

Despite the lame people around me, I really enjoyed my first Coldplay concert. Next time I'll be part of the huge crowd in front of the stage. :laugh3:
And they played a lot of songs, I can't remember missing one. And Chris' voice was just fine, not shaky anymore, absolutely amazing! :)
The songs they played, in no particular order:
Life in Technicolour, Violet Hill, Chinese Sleep Chant, Clocks, In my place, Speed of Sound, Viva la Vida, Lost!, God put a smile upon my face, Talk, The Scientist, Death will never conquer me, Politik, Lovers in Japan, Death and all his friends, Yellow, Cemetries of London, 42, Strawberry swing, Fix you, The hardest part
(Hope I didn't forget one)

I only took a few pics. I couldn't zoom in any closer.

What is that interesting-looking "B" there? I thought he said the German word for "shit." But it sounds like shysta or something. You spell it with that "B"?

What would it mean if you spelled it like scheibe?

Thanks!

Well this “ß” is an additional letter in the German alphabet besides ä,ö and ü. It’s pronounced as a sharp “S” so you have to say “scheisse”. :D

Well now I’ll try to write some lines about my concert in Hamburg, before I’m going to forget the details. ;) Sorry for some mistakes. My English’s crap, but I hope it’s comprehensible.

My journey started at 11.30am and I decided to use the car. The whole time I didn’t realise that it’s THE day until I spotted the first cranes of Hamburg’s harbour and the traffic-jam around the Elbtunnel. Suddenly I became very nervous and exciting. I left the motorway at Volkspark and thought the electronic parking system would show me the way to a car park. Far from it!!! All signs showed “closed” and I spent more than 30 minutes driving around the arena and finding a car park.

Well afterwards I parked in front of the HSH Nordbank Arena, the biggest enemy for a football supporter of Werder Bremen like me haha. I was so glad Coldplay performed in the Colorline Arena next to it. :D So I arrived there and I saw absolutely no one. I was like WTF and couldn’t believe it. So I went around the arena until I’ve found Sarah and Felix. :D There were only a handful of fans in front of the entrance. We sit back and talked a bit. Later on Dennis (Felix’s flat mate) and Nele arrived; my mate from Kiel came at 4pm. We tried to spot Coldplay behind the arena, but weren’t successful. We had so much fun and were joking the whole time though. :D Then at 5pm it began to rain and we decided to queue in front of the entrance. There were a lot of British people and nearly everyone around us was English lol. No wonder for me after the big disappointment as you don’t have a chance to get front row in UK. :( At the car park I also spotted lots of Danish cars. I realized they didn’t stop in Copenhagen this tour. But well that’s another story.

At 6pm they opened the gates and it became a nightmare! Everyone tried to be the first one in so it was really tough, but Sarah and I somehow managed to be one of the first ones and we were running for a good position. Then we had to wait again and I was very glad that some people have sold pretzels as I was very hungry. The security was very nice. I had nightmares when I heard about yellow wristlets in Cologne. At 7.40pm Albert Hammond Jr. entered the stage and his show began. Very early and surprising for all of us.

I only knew his first record (Yours To Keep), I like it and that’s why I was very exciting. But in the end I have to admit that I was disappointed about his performance. Don’t really know why… The sound was very very loud, he played more songs of his second and new album, he wasn’t very communicative, the whole performance seemed to be half-hearted somehow. I was glad when he finished…

Then we were waiting again and after a while we listened to Jay-Z and the Viennese Waltz. I knew we were so closed to the start!!! Shortly before 9pm Coldplay came on stage. Everyone around me went nuts. “Life And Technicolor” began and I liked the idea of only be able to see their silhouettes, because a very thin curtain was between us and the band. “Violet Hill” was following, then “Clocks” which was amazing. I think especially Will was amazing here. During the very short breaks Dennis was always screaming “Fix You” and everyone around us was laughing. It was too funny. :D

“In My Place” and “Speed Of Sound” were following. Personally the last one is probably the most important song, because “SOS” was the reason why I decided to pay attention to Coldplay. I knew them, sure, but I wasn’t really addicted to them beforehand. The next songs were “Cemeteries Of London” and “42”. I was a bit disappointed about the atmosphere. Hamburg’s citizens have the reputation of being very cold and unemotional and I had the same feeling first. Luckily it completely changed with “Fix You”. Then we listened to “Chinese Sleep Chant” and of course “Strawberry Swing”. First I always skipped this song, but after a while it grew on me and now it’s one of my favorites on “VLVODAAHF”.

After a short break Coldplay appeared on the right side stage to perform the techno versions of “God Put A Smile Upon Your Face” and “Talk” which is extremely famous here due to the riff from Kraftwerk’s “Computerliebe”. Chris came up with “The Hardest Part” and “Postcards From Far Away” solo. From one moment to another “Viva La Vida” began and the atmosphere changed in between seconds. Will’s bell looked a lot bigger than I expected. The chorus was just classic. “Lost!” followed before they disappeared again and came back at the end of the arena.

It was so strange in that moment. We tried to get front row the whole time and now we were so far away from them haha. Chris did “The Scientist” before Will was singing “Death Will Never Conquer”. His voice is so beautiful and I hope more songs of him will follow someday. I watched his performance on one of these big magic balls. A few minutes later a “Viva La Vida Remix” has been played and we waited for them to come back on stage.

Then the guys did “Politik” and I was so glad!!! It’s one of my favorites from “AROBTTH”. :) I had no clue that the climax will be reached with the next song. It’s “Lovers Of Japan”. Damn… how amazing was it?! First all these incredible pictures in regard to Japan on the screen behind them. That was completely astonishing! And of course… the butterflies!!! It was so wonderful and I nearly had tears on my eyes. Very emotional! Well done Coldplay!

“Death And All Of His Friends” followed before they said “goodbye” and left the stage. Chris wasn’t sure about the first line of the song. He sang “"All winter we got carried" before he stopped. Now he began with "All summer we got carried" but wasn’t satisfied either haha. So he asked Will and continued with “winter” a few seconds later.

I thought the concert was over then, but Felix reminded me that “Yellow” is still coming. I totally forgot that haha. So Chris, Will, Guy and Jonny came back on stage to perform their very last song. The concert ended with “The Escapist”. Now it was the moment when you became very sad, because it’s over, but I knew Berlin will follow tomorrow yeah.

It took ages to leave the Colorline Arena and outside we decided to spot the guys behind the arena. I went to my car to get my jacket, because it was sooo cold outside like it was December. There has also been a car accident. :( So back behind the arena we tried to take some pictures with the band. The security men told us that they already left to get their plane to London. We didn’t believe them… I mean Berlin followed the next day. What a waste of kerosene… Then some members of Albert’s band left the arena so I asked one of them about Coldplay. He was very friendly and said he doesn’t know but heard they already left for London. :( We waited for a very long time and it was extremely cold, until we decided to go home. Sarah, Felix and Dennis had to catch their S-Bahn to Central Hamburg. Perhaps the band was already sitting in their tour bus as the movie channel was on there.

Back on the car park I was shocked. The gate has already been closed! AAAAARGH! Then this asshole kind of parking attendant appeared and was very mean. He asked if I know how late it was and said he will tow away my car soon. I tried to stay calm, until I realized that my car was standing on the other car park which wasn’t closed lol. Fucking asshole though!!! :( I came home at 2.30am.

Thanks again to Coldplay, Felix, Sarah, Nele, Dennis and my mate from Kiel. What a wonderful day! :nice:

Pictures and videos will follow. I'm going to have a lunch with my grandma now. See you later! :)

Coldplay conquers Hamburg.

British superstar the Coldplay Sunday in the Color LINE arena: Which for an incomprehensibly good concert! The volume outstanding like never. The singer Chris Martin a stage tiger in high form. The show with the best, which resounds it ever in this to see gave. The public at being jubilant and raving. Which for one evening! There is the hottest tickets of the concert autumn. Since months is their show sells off. 13,000 fans urge itself, in order to see Chris Martin (exact, the type of Hollywood Beauty Gwyneth Paltrow). Chris Martin jealous on the ex of its Gwyneth short before nine goes it loosely. The volume only schemenhaft behind a curtain, then on their superstage: two gangways in the public. Six giant balloons at the resounding corner, which as monitors emerge. In the background a canvas with the revolution picture (Eugène Delacroix has painted) of their new album „Viva la Vida “. Coldplay play from the outset their Mitsing hymns: „Clocks “, „in My Place “, „speed OF sound “. Hardly someone still sits on ranks. The new „Viva la Vida “with its „Oho ho ho hooooh ho! “comes from thousands throats. Martin rolls in addition on the stage. The volume: Times here, times there, but always completely near to at the jubilant fans. They change on a small stage in the middle in the public. To plays „talc “, Martin sings there alone at the Piano „The Hardest part “. Then all four of the stage jump, run to to the end resound, there the grandstand stairs highly. Stand now on the circulation between under and upper rank. The spectators in the block „U3 “(actually completely right at the back) cannot seize it. They have now its star Chris, Jonny, want and Guy directly before itself. Here `s gives the calm „The Scientist “. Back on their main stage: Chris Martin (with short crop, the Lockenmähne is off), which still shyly behind its piano verkroch itself some years ago, gives the grinsende ramp sow. Runs and hops and crawls and jumps back and forth. Last addition after well one and a half hours: The classical author „Yellow “. Thousands of paper butterflies rain from the resounding corner. Then are those young away. „Oho ho ho hooooh ho! “the 13,000 fans sing still, when already Rowdys at diminishing are. More does not go.

Coldplay Hamburg

Coldplay Hamburg
I had already announced it here to Coldplay Hamburg. This year do not miss I Coldplay. Coldplay attracts in the meantime ever more people. The Color LINE arena was probably sells off, even if before resounded still some maps to be gotten were. While we drank our beer in the entrance hall still in peace, quarter before eight already began the Vorband, whose name I had not received. Albert Hammond jr. Those played nearly in the style of Coldplay, fit. Unfortunately the sound was very badly however loud. I have nearly the assumption that intentionally in such a way made, so that there is a contrast for then hopefully the better sound of the Hauptacts. No matter, after a longer change break in that at least two people over the whole time were busy with large broom over the stage to sweep went it then finally loosely with Coldplay. With the first piece I have still meant „well, those am probably rather a Studioband… “. This opinion evaporated then however increasingly. Young, those for me rather inconspicuously act - on the road I would not recognize those - put correctly loosely. It made fun. The sound was ok, before all was correctly pressure there. Songs of the new plate „Viva laVida “had priority, in addition, the well-known pieces of the other three albums (so far I grasp). The tendency in resounds was good. There was hardly someone, which it held starting from the second Song still in the seat. Goose skin with tendency pagings from Ballade to the steam hammer. In addition there was not a Lichtshow which can be overloaded. As characteristic 5 large globes hung also to video projection were used in variable height. I found the wavy and occasionally also wavy swinging construction with rows of Movings Heads very elegant. Impressively also the paper rain with UV light support. A few pieces with the whole volume in the spectator's stand were sung surprising (… somewhere have I that already times seen) Altogether a mad evening and the music of Coldplay, which runs with me in continuous rotation, have now a face for me. The photos are made this time only with the IXUS. There are more beautiful pictures on the Coldplay side. Among other things there Roadie #42 blogt. On that Hamburg concerts also again Marco Maas photographed and that is usually closer to.

From: http://tokiohotelnetwork.com/sighting-at-coldplay-concert/

The stalkers are back! Now that the boys are back in Germany, it seems as though fans are stalking them again. Bill, Tom and Andreas attended a Coldplay concert together on September 14th in Hamburg, Germany and stalkers recorded them leaving the concert. It seemsa s though the boys know they’re being filmed in the video. To watch, go here or look below the break.

Thanks for all the reviews and nice pictures!!
I would share mine too but I cannot upload them here.. and I dont have an account at flickr or something..but there are enough pics round here ;)

It was a lovely concert (my first Coldplay gig) and I will never forget that day. It was a sad day because a friend of mine didnt come with me to the concert.. She left the city without telling me though we had an appointment.. When I asked her in the afternoon when we will meet to go to the concert she told me that she is not in hamburg anymore. I started to cry (and I still cant get trough). We know each other since april I think. And we loved the same song as the album leaked on 4 of june.. it was Strawberry Swing.. It all seemed to be perfect but now its all gone. I stood there thinking of my two lucky seats in the first row.. Will I go there alone now? It was a very sad situation. Hopefully another friend was so spontaneous to come with me. But I still cant believe what happened.

Anyway the concert was brilliant and lifted me up!
When the four.. left the stage to play the scientist and death will never conquer they past the place where I was ´sitting´ directly in front of me! I could have touched them but I didnt know that they love to be touched (like they tell in an interview..) :laugh3: and I just stood there amazed with eyes wide open :stunned:
I had to wait for this for 5 years and I really loved the atmosphere!
It was one of the best days in my life. To see Coldplay live is more than a dream I think!

I hope Coldplay come to Australia in february/march and annouce it soon!
I will be there cause maybe I make a round the world trip.. Maybe then I see them in New Yersey too! But I dont know if I m still there at this date if i start my trip.. But in Australia I would be there!! :)

Okay :)

Here I am, I am new to this forum but I love Coldplay's music for some time now, but as many people, didn't pay too much attention on the band, who they are, what they do aso.
You probably get what I mean, as it happened to some of you as well - maybe?!

I have to confess that I bite my behind, that I didn't buy more tickets for different shows such as Berlin or Munich :(
I have only been to the Hamburg show and ... holy cow ... what a concert it was!!
It was also the first time I saw the band playing live and I was a bit unsure before 'cause I have seen a footage of the BBC concert in London, and honestly saying I thought the sound and Chris voice wasn't in best form :(
So my fear was that it could be the same but I was proven wrong (and I am more than happy about that!!).

The show was absolutely amazing and now I am sitting here with extreme withdrawal symptoms and I am suffering terribly because I soooo want to see them again.

I will probably ask for spare tickets in a different topic (spare tickets for the UK leg of the tour, that is) but I came here to share some photos I have taken.

They aren't something special but a least for me an excellent reminder of this unforgetable evening :)

Here we go:

This was the closest my zoom lense could get to Chris Martin ;)

So back behind the arena we tried to take some pictures with the band.

Maybe I can lighten up this incident ...

My friend and I tried to meet the band before the concert, well, we checked some of the hotels celebs usually stay in while being in Hamburg and we were told at one hotel, that the band cancelled their booking short notice because they left Cologne right for London and would only fly in from London for the show and would leave straight afterwards.

Well, I guess it's more than obvious that spending time with their families is the most precious thing to do when being on tour for 18 months ...

Right now while touring Europe they can still do it (flying back to London, I mean) but I guess they won't when they are in the US or elsewhere because the distances are too big :(

That was probably also another reason why the concert ended quite early (if you ask me, they could have played a bit longer ...).
Hamburg airport has a night flight restriction, landings and departures are only allowed until 11 pm.
So when finishing at 10.25 pm they really had to hurry to reach the airport in time ;)

^they hardly ever play longer than 90 minutes ;) it's their usual set.

Really??! :stunned:
I don't want to be ungrateful or else but I thought that being able to choose songs from four albums would also enable them to play a longer set, especially when you see the ticket prices but I guess that's quite common to have prices like that.

But thanks for clearing that up. :)
Now I feel less sad, 'cause I honestly thought that we would get a shorter performance due to their need to catch their flight ... ;)

Wow and they really flew back to London? Weird that they didn't fly back when they had at least one day off.

I don't know for sure whether they flew to London or not.
All I know is that they were not supposed to stay overnight in Hamburg.

Maybe they also flew directly to Berlin?

Who knows for sure anyway?

But then again ... it wouldn't change anything nor would it help anyone ... ;)

I just concluded it as they only flew into Hamburg on Sunday afternoon and because the concert ended (what I thought was) quite early - just in time to reach the airport before the nightflight restriction sat in :\

Yeah, we never can be sure, the hotel staff could be lying or so.
Thanks for your review, btw.!
