Hey Julia, - as Sarah said - If I were you I would try to go to the Köln Arena on September 12th to see if you might get any tickets on the black market. Recently MTV was outside the Olympic stadium in Berlin where Madonna performed. The original ticket price was 130€ and the channel showed people who still got tickets on the black market for 30€. So perhaps you'll be successful as well. :) Don't give up!

I`m quite sure that they´ll play Clocks, it`s one of their most popular songs (especially in Germany, even people that don`t know the band know Clocks) and it`s great live :)

Okay, I have to ask one more time: is anyone going to record the concert (audio)? Someone did that at the concert in Oberhausen in 2005 and it´s amazing to listen to it again and again! I don`t know if I should record it OR take photos and videos... I can`t do both things :(

hehe the best thing is that I didn't have to wait for so long.Know what I mean?That's the good thing about knowing just 3 days before the cocnert that you'll actually go there...

don't know why but I'm also excited for the way back home from Cologne....there is one hour to go by car and it will be dark and we'll be listening to Coldplay in the car and think of the concert...awww...:blush:

Zunächst wirkt die Band so introvertiert wie Sänger Chris Martin selbst: Nur Schattenrisse sind hinter einer transparenten Leinwand von Coldplay erkennbar, die mit „Life in Technicolor“ einstimmen. Passend zum Album-Cover mit dem Eugene-Delacroix-Revolutionsgemälde „Die Freiheit führt das Volk“ präsentieren sich die Briten energischer und druckvoller als bislang erlebt.

So werden Hits wie „42“ oder „God Put a Smile on Your Face“ mit elektronischen Spielereien und Spezialeffekten angereichert, so dass es nur noch fiept und flirrt. Stimmungsvoll werden auch die ruhigen Stücke bedacht, so dass bei der Ballade „Yellow“ die ausverkaufte Lanxess-Arena in gelbes Licht getaucht wird und Coldplay sich für „The Scientist“ für ein kleines Akustik-Set mit Gitarren, Mandolinen und Mundharmonika niederlassen. Okay guys, I just skip the three hundred pages of "OMFG OH MA GOAWD HOLY SHITCAKES!" and start with a little review.

first of all,GAH!!!!
So I'm sitting at Julia's (Dark_Sofie) home infront of her PC, and we both went to THE MOST FUCKING AWESOME CONCERT in our life:D
We arrived at the Köln Arena at about 3:30pm, and the entry was really empty. I mean, there were only about 6 people or so. AND IT WAS COLD MAN! I only had a thin coldplay tshirt on xD Well, we more or less cuddled together and waited for the security guys to let us in. We quickly became kinda 'friends' with other people standing around there, they were really nice :)
So, the doors opened at 6pm, and still, there weren't that much people at our gate. We showed our tickets and were pushed into the building. BUT I have to mention, BEFORE that happened, a few of these security people walked around with weird yellow bracelets. We asked them "What are they for?" and they were like:"Aw, nothing important" So we went in and suddenly, everything went really fast:
There was a huge crowd infront of the main entry to the hall, and everybody was pushing and trying to get in at first. Then a few of the tour people said to us, we had to move the other way :dizzy2:
Confusing, I tell you! Then we were again squished together, and SUDDENLY, those people who got a yellow wristlet went past us really fast, and one of these people who we met at first and were friends with asked them "Hey, where are you going?!" and one of these guys said:"Well, we're going to the first block of the concert hall, because we have these yellow things here"... in other words, the security people just handed them out RANDOMLY, no matter if you were waiting infront of the arena for 12 hours or 12 minutes!!!:angry::veryangry2:
I mean, seriously, WTF!? That was so F***** unfair! Fortunately, one nicely woman we met before, said to us, that there was still a woman outside with a few bracelets left, and we put everything on one cart, LEFT the whole building, went out of our save place (we already stood at the entry) and went outside, got nearly pushed out because it wasn't allowed to go outside, but THANK GOD we arrived at the woman, she gave us the bracelets (they were only 1000 for random people, who had the luck to get them, WE TOO YEAHHRR) and we went back inside.

We arrived at our old spot, moved slowly to the entry and RAN inside, and the tour people screamed after us :" HEY LADIES, DON'T RUN!" :lol: Well we were shocked, then we moved reeeaaallly slow... AND RAN AGAIN AHAH! So, we arrived, and now the most epic thing comes, AT THE VERY NEAREST PLACE at the stage. Only 2 people before us standing, we had a perfect sight! We were on the left side on the stage, right infront of Jonny, WOHO :dance::dance::dance:

1) It was the best night of my life (everybody says that, but it's true!)

okay, back to the concert! We stood there at the very front, and we had really much space around us! Nobody was pushing or angry, everything was nice, quiet and relaxed. We sat down there for an hour, looking at the roadies who were everywhere. Then the first band came on, it was okay, well, we stood right infront of the bass box, so we only listened to a loud *BOOM BADABOOMBOM* the whole time :lol::laugh3:
They played a few rock songs, nice for the warm up, and THEEENNNN....

...the arena darkened! We listened to a Waltz (I think?) and I was like:"Oooh yeah, now it begins!" and THEN I saw Roadie #42 walking over the stage!:lol: He played a little bit on Chris' keyboard and laughed, then he went over AT OUR PLACE to the corner of the stage and placed there a little camera or something like that! I think, well I HOPE, that he will post a little video of the beginning of the show, maybe Julia and me will be on the vid then, yay :P

Roadies dissappeard, the giant curtain moved down, magicballs over our heads, roadies in the light machines hanging above our heads (it looked just crazy) and then LIT went out of the big sound boxes. The arena went bonkers, and we too of course!

Chris, Jonny, Guy and Will started the show really awesome, Chris was jumping around (as always ^^) and well, IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! Because it was our first Coldplay concert, we can't really concentrate on everythig now! I will just write down the most important things which I kept in my mind, okay?

Those songs here are NOT in order, because my brain is pudding right now :dead:
So they played LIT, Violet Hill, Clocks, SOS, Strawberry swing, VLV, GPASUYF (techno version), Hardest Part (piano), Talk (again this remix on the funky light stage), Postcards from far away, cemetries of london, 42, reign of love, then up in the arena, they played The scientist, Death will never conquer me, Lost! LIJ, Death and all his friends, and they played an Encore, YELLOW!

Yes RoL was full played! Chris also spoke a little bit german, and said, that his german is.. well.. VERY bad :D He sounded so cute! And he said "Unglaublich!" (unbelievable!) when everybody was singing this "Lalalalalalaleyyyy" of CoL, his face went -> :o Awesome! :D
Ah yeah, I forgot to mention in my place, Chris again introduced Jonny as his best friend, and when Chris walked down the long catwalk, he was rolling around there, HAHA so funny (I think he layed/sit/rolled over there at the end of Viva la Vida, and he animated us all to keep the OOOH OOHO OOOH and he was enjoying it, while laying on the ground :D)

Some review now :)

Well, first of all the T-shirts were sooo expansive, but anyway I bought one. :P (30 € each). So we went to our seats, when 10 minutes later Albert Hammond Jr startet to play, and imo they were great! They played for like 40-45 minutes. After them the guitars and drums got tuned by some people, which took like 30 minutes.

There was a Jay-Z song in the background and some classical famous song. A pitty that I dont know the name of the title. :inquisitive:
But it was just sooooo funny when suddenly a guy stood up from his seat in the front of us and acted like he was conducting the hole KolnArena and all people in the upper seats were clapping and cheering for him, UNBELIEVEABLE really. :D

After that Life in Technicolor startet and the guys ran up the stage and the obligatory curtains liftet up. Chris later spoke some german sentences, which he did really great actually. :)

After song like Clocks, In My Place and Speed of Sound, they played Reign of Love, which was wonderful.

Chris also said that our background singing after Fix You was, "so fucking incredible today"

He played The Hardest Part and Letters from far Away on piano on the b-stage and right after they startet Viva La Vida, when Chris ran back to the a-stage.

After DAAHF, their officially "last song", they came for an encore to play finally Yellow.

Oh dear, THE BANNER! Totally forgot to tell you about it!

YES we got the banner into the arena, YES we held it up, and YES, FUCKIN YES Jonny saw it and gave us his *dies of cuteness*-smile :dead: :wacky:

We held it up in the beginning of in my place, and wanted to keep it up, but then somebody patted me on the shoulder and we put the banner back down, because people couldn't see a crap xD Well I wanted Chris to see it too, but well, you can't get everything!

About videos/fotos: Our camera wasn't the best, I only took fotos on at the beginning of the show, because the lights made everything worse. I only have a few photos for you, sorry about that :\ But I think, people with better cameras will show you great quality photos soon!
