OMG!!! Why are the tickets sooooo expensive???
I went to the Madrid concert 3 years ago and the tickets costes me 33 euros and now they cost 179 O.o that's a huge difference!!!!
I hope the prices are wrong or they are kidding us, because I won't pay that amount of money just for one concert :(

179 euros? es imposible.

igual creo yo liamskelter...

Fui a ver a U2 hace unos años a Barcelona y me costaron 50 euros...

Otra cosa, ¿numerada o general?

Saludos

Hello,

I am urgently looking for two tickets to see Coldplay in Spain for our honeymoon. She is Latina in decent and I think planning a mystery trip to Spain & surprising her with Coldplay would be the ultimate surprise. Either Barcelona or Madrid would be incredible!

Please e-mail me at wweaus@hotmail.com if you can help.

España

Palacio de Deportes, Madrid, Spain.

Block 12, Room 8, Seat no. 3.

12:10pm.

The venue is a building site. There are hard hats, reflective jackets and hand signals across the floor. Stage trucks reversing in. Confetti cannons, lasers, fans, speaker stacks, motors, inflatable spheres, more lights and more speakers, all ready to be lifted above the stage when the rigging goes up. When a show gets this big, it’s a long time before you see any instruments!

I can now see one of the catwalks being assembled, which will later see Chris Martin walking into the waiting crowds (who are already sitting patiently outside..)
It was my first time working with Intermon Oxfam last night, in Barcelona. It was a pleasure to work with such a happy bunch. The show was a great prize for all their hard work. The atmosphere in Europe is raising the bar even higher, and the band seem to be savouring the challenge of living up to fever pitch expectation. The crowd were still singing that famous ‘Viva’ chorus long after the show closed in that Yellow lit arena. It once hosted the gymnastics at the 1992 Olympics. It was a very different spectacle last night.

Intermon Oxfam was collecting names in support of a fair trade deal. Those people who gave their voice last night, will join those voices tonight in pressuring the Spanish government. It’s a great feeling watching someone stop and listen to one of our volunteers. Take a moment to think about how they can be part of our work. Grab the pen and start signing. Walk away with a smile on their face, and go to enjoy the show. Coldplay make that possible, by inviting us here. The volunteers put the opportunity into action. And the people that stop, are the ones that make it happen.

Here comes another truck full of equipment..

By the way.. I’m pretty sure the Coldplay show made a lot more noise than the football last night.. One of the truck drivers skipped sleep to go and see the football, and said he should have chosen sleep instead!

BARCELONA/MADRID, 7 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) - The british quartet Coldplay, led by Chris Martin, will perform tonight at the Palacio de Deportes in Madrid to present their lastest album "Viva la Vida" (EMI), after their show yesterday at Barcelona. The opening act in both concerts is Allbert Hammond Jr, Guitarrist of The Strokes, which just published an album called "Como te llama".

The tickets to the Madrid date of Coldplay are sold out since many weeks ago.

The band performed at the Espacio Movistar of Barcelona the past may 17th, the show was free - even if a invitation to enter to the venue was required and the place was quite limited- in a tour that took us to London and New York.

During their visit to the catalan capital, Martin assured in the press conference that the band "is more attractive than it was 3 years ago, and this is reflected in their music" and added that they choose Barcelona as the city to present their last album as a gesture of thanks to the warm welcoming that they always had.

Viva la Vida was produce by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs and recorded in New York, Barcelona and London in special places as churchs and theatres.

About Eno and Dravs, Martin joked, he said that they're so different as the United States and the Sovietic Union, the relationship is difficult but interesting, to which the guitarrist John Buckland added that "Eno was like a teacher" for them, "very inspiring".

Paris, Cologne and Hamburg will be the next cities where Coldplay will perform, the band is having an extense european tour and some dates in the United States to show this last album.

O-le ole ole ole, Coldplay, Coldplay.

The stage goes dark. The crowd starts to sing. The lights go up. The noise really starts. Amazing show tonight. A Spanish-speaking crowd singing every word to songs released less than 2 months ago. When there were no words, they were singing the melodies. The atmosphere in Spain has been something I will remember all my life. The arenas seem to hold in the sound. Either that, or these crowds are just crazy. In a good way.

Chris, Will, Guy and Jonny will probably remember that for a long time too. No matter how many shows they do. Belen, my Intermon Oxfam contact, told me that Chris said (in Spanish), at the end of one song, “thank you, with all my body”. He also said, they will be back until the crowd gets bored of them. I don’t see that happening any time soon.

The set just fits. The band knowing how to tease the best out of the crowd. Knowing when they will sing, and when to make them jump. It’s an amazing sight
to see people united in that way. And of course, to see four people controlling all that.

I want to thank all the Intermon Oxfam volunteers for all their energy and enthusiasm. Special thanks to Patricia, Maria and Belen for all their support from Intermon Oxfam in organising everything. It’s been great to see the crowds reaction to us, and as I said, Spain’s reaction to Coldplay.

I am about to jump on my bus, ready for the long trip to Paris. Oxfam France Agir-ici will be waiting for the two shows at the Bercy. Thank you Spain.. it’s been emotional.

Coldplay in Madrid

http://madriduno.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/chris-martin.jpg?w=180&h=213 (http://madriduno.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/chris-martin.jpg)

Tonight, at the Palacio de Deportes in central Madrid, Chris Martin and the gang came to play. The previous night (Saturday) the band had also played in Barcelona.

Both concerts were in aid of Oxfam and to publicise its campaign “Comercio con Justicia” (Fair Trade). Several lucky volunteers for this organisation got given free tickets.

Before the Madrid leg the band did a TV interview and Chris Martin was cheekily asked which city he preferred. He told the interviewer that this was a forbidden question. “There are two prohibited questions in this interview, yeah? You don’t ask about our relationships and you don’t ask about the Barcelona versus Madrid thing.”

The majority of the concert was taken up with tracks from the Viva la Vida album but of course they bunged in a few of the classics from previous albums as well. It wasn’t the full-on concert and lightshow spectacular but it was as professional as always and everyone had a good sing-a-long and got sent home happy.

Hello there!

I went to the 2 concerts to Barcelona and Madrid and the set-list was the same in both.
A pity for a person who did many kilometres and spent a lot of money.

In 2005 I did as well but they played a slight different concert.... this time Chris made the same falls and almost he spoke the same spanish words.

But, both cocerts have been quite good. C. Martin changed his tone during "Speed of sound" and changed some lyrics too.

I'm tired. I will write a bit more later and add some pics, right?

Greetings from Madrid.

Posteriormente ‘Violet Hill’ dio paso a ‘Clocks’. In my place’, ‘Fix you’, ‘The Hardest Part’, ‘Talk’, etc.

Coldplay in Madrid, tremendous.

That last Sunday 7 September, he took place in Madrid's Sport Palace the second concert of the Coldplay band in Spain, after Barcelona who was the day before. I took long time waiting for this concert, but per end he arrived the day in which to be able to see to Coldplay in straight.

We arrive to the pavilion, a fright glue, that yes, in all the doors opened advanced one very fast because there were a lot of doors to enter. There was food place crowd in the enclosure: Pizzas; doggies; hamburgers; and so on, and my stomach roared, by what we had to stop to catch forces, a doggie stops water chest, botellita and stops in front. When us we manage to place not estabamos far and centraditos, inspired asique.

The not much of entering, Albert Hammond Jr, main guitarist from the independent pop rock, newyorkina, The Strokes, band wait made enjoyable as telonero. After finishing and when 20 minutes remained he stops the beginning of the concert, a girl us entertained with some that other one faint, fan round here and to that place, raised and at the 2 minutes... I come other I falter, until her got of allií his boyfriend out little.

A tune had attention paid to the public, The Danube was Blue of Johann Strauss (son), the instrumental 'Live in Technicolour' raised the curtain later, with Frida Khalo mythical picture at the back, work that entitles the first single of the band, 'Lives Life.' 'Violet Hill' took step to 'Clocks' subsequently. The hairs running off of his orbit, to more than one the lagrimilla he was about overflowing. Each song was a clamour. The big classics mixed with the new topics, many I eat 'Japan in,' with the flooded pavilion with butterflies 'Lovers' paper of colors, or 'Lost.' All the classics were represented almost; 'Yellow;' 'Politik;' 'my In' 'Fix you,' 'The Hardest Part,' 'Talk' 'pleases,' and so on. One of the biggest moments of the night went when one switched all the lights absolutely off and they appeared the four component of the band between the public with his instruments and they touched the mythical 'The Scientist' suddenly. Made enjoyable with funny small comments of Chris Martin in Spanish everything.

In short, him who could say who a weekend in Madrid 100? entry, in the resale 80?, seeing to Coldplay in straight does not have price now. The emotion that I felt was such, that I have experienced that feeling, a few times, he can seem exajerado, but one does not know if he does not live one so that Live Life!
