About the standing issue / how much did you pay for standing tickets? because I was thinking that maybe I could trade with someone that does not want to be on his/her feet all concert long!!

After three days of stress and litteraly losing my hair, I finally managed to sort that trip out ! :dance:
got my Coldplay tix, my train tickets, hotel's booked and Coldplaying meetup all planned ! :D
it's in more than a month, but Chicago got me all excited ! :dance:

Btw. Do you know why so many concerts are sold out, but for this one are still tickets available?? I mean, that's crazy how some concerts are sold out within minutes... and Strasbourg, not.

I know it's weird... I guess people dont want to travel to Strasbourg to see them live.. it's a shame! Paris had to sell for a few days to be sold out.. French people arent as much enthusiast about concerts as in other parts of the world ! :(

Hm well, our luck then :D I first thought about going to Mannheim (Germany) or Zürich (Switzerland), but both was sold out, but actually for me Strasbourg is anyway the best place to go.

I will probably go to the back door after the concert as well. So if there aren't too many crazy Coldplay fans... who knows, maybe they'll sign autographs.
Well, I hope it's a cool backdoor and not one of those where you have no chance (tunel thing). Oh and it's the first concert after Japan, so they should be relaxed :) One thing that worries me, they have already a concert the next day again, dammit :(

Do you know when the venue opens the doors? And when will you arrive there?

I dont know when the doors will be open. but we'll be there till about 11am and try to see them when they come for soundcheck.
when are you planning on coming to the venue ? and what's your seat number ? are you going by yourself ?

We also decided to go to the back door once the show's over but I highly doubt we'll get to see them. As you said they have another show the next day and have to go to Germany. So I think it will be one of those "runner nights".

Do you know how long such a soundcheck takes? Do they leave the venue after the soundcheck again, or do they stay the whole time in there till the concert begins?

edit: Okay tht was a dumb question, I bet they leave again, but that means you could meet them after the soundcheck too... ?

It's amazing another Coldplayer is coming to the concert! I didn't know this concert wasn't sold out! I wouldn't mind if they give the concert for the three of us! Better if there are not a lot of fans...that way we would get with our way easier!

I think they'll come for soundcheck in the afternoon actually. But we just decided to be there as early as we can, and 11am is just after our train arrives so here we are!
I dont know how long soundcheck goes, an hour maybe, Im not sure. But I think they stay in the venue till the show begins.. huuh I really have no idea, so i might very well be wrong.
but YEAH WE ARE GOING TO HUNT THEM DOWN.. and beat a security guy down if needed :D

the venue is a small one (not more than 10 000 people) so it will already feel cozy, if we compare with other shows they did so far (about 15 000/20 000 attendees). But I'm scared that if it's not sold out, the audience might not be as good .. well, the three of us will have to do the job for the ones that didnt come, right ? :smug:

I read the Zenith is quite new, and I think standing standings are sold out now (at least where I bought mine), but there are still seats.

Yes...I am coming all the way from Venezuela - but not just for the concert...I am actually doing a trip around Europe with some friends and one of my stops is Strasbourg for the concert...I scheduled with Chavi to arrive to Strasbourg in the same train, since she's also going to there from Paris...

The downside is that I have a seating ticket! and an extra ticket because I made a mistake while buying my ticket! But I will try to get a seating ticket or maybe an upgrade from Roadie 42 himself...

I guess 3pm is alright.. I dont know how Coldplay fans are in France. So it should be okay. And the doors will only open around 6 or 7pm so you shouldnt worry if you only get there in the afternoon.

I googled a bit, and I think around 6:30 pm they will open the doors.

If I come, I'm not sure, just depends how my grandma's health is, loooong story, well yeah...if I can come, I'll come alone and will arrive in Strasbourg around 9am. I used to study there so I know the area pretty well. Not sure I'll go and wait in line straight away tho, I'll see.

Back in 2005 (or 2006? I'm losing my mind!), when I went to see them in Lyon, we arrived around 5pm and there was almost nobody waiting! Haha.

maybe they kept it for the European tour ! you know it's often that bands when they first start touring in America they use a sort of "random" setlist but when they come in Europe they change it a little bit with adding new songs and stuff ;)

Yes, I live in Germany. And no it isn't so far away. If there still had been tickets for a german concert I would have gone there, but now I'm glad there weren't tickets anymore, because otherwise I wouldn't had the idea to look where Strasbourg is located at all.... It turned out it's closer than any german city where Coldplay concerts take place :thumbsup:

Unfortunately I don't speak french at all, but since it seems that there are coming people from other nations too, we will speak in english. AND NOW I wanted to apologize for my english in advance. I've never done that before... I mean people have asked me for the next bus stop or so in english, but I never had longer conversations :thinking:

nice! I do actually live near Munich, but I wil combine going to the concert with staying in Strasbourg for a few days since it would be too long a distance otherwise, only to go to the concert. I actualy watched some videos which show the inside of the Zenith, which looks awesome! There are some on Youtube, which show James Blunt performing in the Zenith.. and it really looks nice, not too big and I guess that if you have a standing ticket for example it cannot really happen that you are really far away from the stage, even if you should be last row!!! :);):wink3::wink3:

hey D-2 ! now i start to be nervous x) i don't really know actually. In Jannuary i went to Metz to see Linkin Park in concert and all thoses stuffs weren't allowed so the people of the staff took it and gave it back at the end of the show ,but i don't know about the Zenith of Strasbourg...but i'll hide them just in case !

Hi people ! I just suscribed to Coldplaying forum in order to follow this thread :) I am from Strasbourg, and of course will be at the Zenith tomorrow evening !

I'll be there since around 12 o'clock (wanting to be as close to the scene as I can), so if you see a young girl reading a big book (well, I should have something to do until the show starts) on a bench in front of the building, that's me !

If you need anything to eat or whatever, there is a trade center just next to the Zenith (10 min by feet), so don't burden yourself with a huge journey bag ;)

And don't forget your raincoats, it may be raining tomorrow, and there's nowhere to shelter in front of the Zenith (same thing for the toilets, you'll have to go to the trade center I think, they don't open the building until late, maybe 18h30 I guess).

I was there to watch the Blue Man Group, and I don't remember any staff disturbing people because of cameras. But they may be more strict tomorrow, I don't really know. I won't take mine because I don't want to be encumbered, even if I would have loved taking pictures. Well, I hope you guys will =)

And, last but not least, they won't let you in with any bottle of water (as in many concerts I guess).

@ Chavi & G o A : Thank both of you for your welcome ;) Actually, I always found this "bottle of water interdiction" quite stupid, you could as well throw anything else at the band. And yeah, sure, I will bring my bottle without any cap, as I will be in the middle of an overexcited croud jumping around :rolleyes: Nice commercial action to make us pay overexpensive drinks inside the building... Well, there is only one thing to do, let's hide some caps in our underwear :lol:
For the cameras, I don't know whether the directives are given by the Zenith direction, or the band itself, so I guess we'll see tomorrow !

Reporting Live from the Zenith - We already saw Guy, Will and Jonnny getting out of the van when they arrived to the soundcheck...

Apparently there is a no photo policy in the Zenith - that really sucks...

I am with Chavi, who has been of great help considering I don't know french...

13.43 they're doing soundcheck right now, only playing Violet Hill, frustrating cause we can't get in

it's at least a 5 hour trip before she get's home, and she can't go straigh after the concert so the actual review will probably come later tomorrow

It's only a song or two longer than we all can expect, I think, and actually what they should be playing most nights, really (though they don't always). But they seem to have been trying to play the extra song or two this tour when Chris feels up to it (perhaps all the people who said we shouldn't say on here that we felt it was too short were wrong after all?! :cool:)

Anyway, awesome set, GREAT TO SEE POLITIK BACK IT SHOULD NEVER EVER NOT BE PLAYED :) And CoL - WOW! :cool:

Looks like they're really cranking up the tour now for Europe, home of Coldplay :dance:
