What is the most random or original instument you can think of? Mine would probably be the digery- doo because the name is random, the sound is original and ralph harris plays it!

A few days ago, i saw a man playing a saw like a violin. Except he didnt put it on his neck, (4 obvious reasons)...okay then, actually he played it like a cello. But hey, same thing...right? :stunned:

To me, maybe the most original instrument is one used in Africa, can't recall where, that is like something like a leave that u put in ur mouth and allows u to do polyphonic sounds... would somehow b similar to a doromb.

I am a dorombist! *jk* I do have a doromb, but just to joke around.

Another original instrument to me is Qena.. it's somehow like a pipe that has some tubes like the tubes in a Pan flute.. It's from the South East of Asia, Malaysia, I'd say.

Hehe.. that made me think of steel drums, they sound funny to me.

I was up in the mountains of Arkansas today... They sure are obsessed with Dulcimers... They're everywhere... they had posters for Dulcimer lessons and we saw a total of four people walk around carrying A Dulcimer case...

Ithink its northern africa (morocco and algeria) that use those, i know what you mean tho...they're cool..like a blit of metal you chomp on, then pluck a metal bar that vibrates and u move your mouth to make notes :)

ohhh how can we forget the comb and tissue paper :)

its called a Jaw harp, I got one. The make a strange sound, and they're really easy to play because to change notes you just move your mouth like when you're talking. lol the most random instrument has to be the one on Futurama when fry gets worms that make him smart. I forgot what it was called but it made the sounds of an entire orchestra. "Only a few people in the universe can play it, and they're not even very good."
