Do you know if they are going to have a pre sale for the TO show. I got tickets for their last show when they went on sale to the general public and the seats weren't what I wanted.

I've been wondering too about a pre-sale for TO's show. Also, is Ticketmaster selling the tickets? If I go to Livenation and click on another show (to see where it leads to), they either lead to ticketmaster or the arena's website. Plus, they don't have Coldplay listed as coming soon...and I don't think it's because the sales is in June because they have other bands listed with sales in June. >___<

I noticed the same thing.
When I looked on ticketmaster it's not even listed. When you search Coldplay they only have a few shows listed.

I know! I just hope they show Toronto's date soon, since the sales are on the 14th! Where else should we look for tickets? I'm skeptic of using other websites then ticketmaster.
Do you think the Best Buy membership card applies to Canadian shows? I hope not.

Is anyone willing to spare a presale password to a hardcore fan of Coldplay's...that hasn't been to a concert yet because I'm super slow on getting tickets on ticketmaster!? (they came on my birthday, the 23rd on their 2006 tour...never got tickets) :D

I think you can still sign up. Codes aren't being given away untill the 5th at 8 am.
Go to bestbuy.ca and click on rewards zone and there's a thing there about coldplay presale passwords.

Does anyone know of a good site to buy these tickets off of since I live in the US? I noticed they don't have the date listed on ticketmaster, and I thought that maybe that was because I'm in the US. Also I checked the page that is linked to the Coldplay homepage and it had a different date for Toronto (July, I think). Good thing we still have over a week until they go on sale! (I can't use the BestBuy thing because I'm buying more than 2 tickets... :( )

I would be SO very grateful!!!!

It looks like there is a Livenation presale tomorrow for this show - but I have heard nothing about what the password will be. Usually Edge 102 handles the passwords and they let you know WHEN you can get it...but I've heard nothing.
I don't think it's the same one as the BestBuy presale...so if anyone knows that code please do share! I will let everyone know if I find out.
I have my fingers crossed.
Concert tickets are so difficult these days. I hate it. I never used to miss my favorite bands - but now if your browser messes up you get screwed. I had seen Coldplay every show since they first came stateside way back in like 01? Mostly in Toronto - one in Buffalo and once in Pittsburgh at a school. The show was literally the size of a high school gymnasium and that's basically what it was - at a college though! They pulled out bleachers and the floor was a basketball court. The last time they came I missed the show because tickets sold out so quickly - it's such a bummer. I don't want to miss them again.
Ticket prices are through the roof this time too. If you want to get on the floor - it's 97.50. Lower "bowl" area - 77.50. High up lame seats - 49.50. Plus ticketmaster surcharges. This is going to cost me more than Radiohead..which is suprising. Whatever though, they are so awesome live..I can't wait!

green eyes do you have tickets to toronto show?
Yeup, a rather unfortunate situation though... I bought a 30-something floor ticket, I clearly know this... and when Ticketmaster sent me my confirmation email it some how turned into a section 310 ticket... Which they refuse to refund... I don't understand how that happens! ... I managed to snag a row 26 centre floor ticket after that... So now I'm stuck with two single tickets, lol... Seriously hoping I can get rid of the 310 one, though it's a really decent seat.

My friend actually got 2nd row for their show at the ACC in '06... Don't ask me how he managed that... He's a total idiot so I suppose anything is possible! lol
I wish you the best of luck, kavehnight, especially since you're doing it for your girl! Maybe you should consider going to a cyber cafe and hording an entire row of comps to search, lol... While calling to order at the same time....

There's someone on Ebay selling two 5th row floor seats for the ACC show already... For $1000...

2) It makes me sick.

i signed up just to say that house of blues sucks.
first off it took about 20 seconds to refresh to their presale site. then i couldn't read their code. then i put a space in the code and their box could only fit 6 characters including my space
and finally i got the code right and it loaded for 11 minutes before telling me teh tickets were sold out.

House of Blues was slow, but I ended up grabbing 2 seats in section 120 row 1, which isnt too bad I guess. Im tryin to see what else is available, but it wont let me through :(, it just loads forever

The House of Blues site was very slow to load, once you got to the screen where it was searching for tickets it could take several minutes or longer.
At first it offered me some tickets in the 120 section but far back, I released those and tried again only to find I couldn't get anything. I thought damm I screwed up and got greedy I should have just taken those tickets.
But then I kept trying a few more times and managed to get another pair 120 section again but Row 2 so I grabbed those.
I surprised the site was that slow, I ordered Radiohead tickets off of HOB earlier this year and it was super fast.

Noticed there will be a ticketmaster auction available.
So if they sell out at least we have that instead of scalpers/ebay.
The '06 shows I paid 180 each for floors seats through the auction. Could be worse I think my U2 tickets were 175 each and those were just lower level seats.

i've been floor about 40 rows back before.
its great if youre tall.
if not (like me), you just better hope the people in front of you aren't tall, or get a number to a good chiropractor for the next morning.
for visibility, the bowl is better but for the crowd, floor takes it.

ya, im not too concerned. i mean, once the music starts you cant/dont want to your friends anyways! I think if i went into it only looking for 1 ticket i would have gotten something a little better, but im pretty happy with my seat. wicked! You're like 7 rows in front of me haha I was in row 26 last time and it was (from what I remember) pretty sweet visibility. But I'm also 6'2 and am likely the person pissing off people behind me. I'm guessing 29 shouldn't really be too different!
I went on directly at 10 on Saturday and tried to see if I could get any closer but got row 49 or something. Tried again and they were sold out. Thank god for the presale!
For those wondering about parking, theres a few lots down on Lakeshore around the area where the big Loblaws is. It's a sketchy walk by itself, but after the concerts it's usually a walk filled with drunk Coldplay fans belting out some tracks.

I got floor seats, row 41. Kinda crappy since I'm 5'1" but way better than when I saw them in the 300's. Then again, everything's crappy after seeing them at the Much Music I & I all those years ago.
But still so happy I got tix! It was crazy that morning!

I know how you feel. I saw them at the Kool Haus and I was literally front and centre, less then 4 meters between Chris and I the whole show.:D Meaning I could take pictures with my disposable camera and they'd be good without a zoom.
Yeah I still have to decide who to go with. 3 people wanted to go with me, that would be 4 tickets. I got 2. But it should be okay, becase one of my friends isn't sure if she wants to pay that much anway, one didn't care that much, and one is my sister so although she loves them she'll be okay with not going if my other friend (who isnt sure about the money) wants to go.
Anyone ever been in the 104 section, or around there for any concert?

Go with the 310 one. You'll be looking over the stage and you're 8 rows in which is fairly decent too. Section 101 is a fair ways back and you'll have to squint to make out Chris and the gang.

Hi
I have two sets of tickets. A pair for me and a friend and another set for a friend and her boyfriend. I am trying to choose which one is the best for me. I have section 108 row 26 and section 101 row 23. Any idea from anyone? The last ACC concert seats I had was on the floor and people did not stand up for the artist. But I have been to see Coldplay at the Molson Amph and I know everyone stands and being a short person any help would be great with regards to which seats to take. I am so happy that I scored tix knowing what happened last time they were in town (sold out in what 7 minutes?). Thanks.

Stick with your 108 tickets, the view is much better than section 101. I've sat in 103 before and i was mad that i paid full price when realistically I was sitting on the opposite end of the venue.

I'm a lurker here but decided to come out of hiding since the Toronto shows are nearing. I'm going to both nights. I got the first night on BestBuy presale - floors, row 36 & the second night I have section 101, lower stands. I may be interested in swapping for floors if anyone is interested.. I do have one seat, row 41 for the second night as well. I HAD to grab it when it came up! After hearing the Brixton concert this afternoon on BBC 1, I'm SO psyched about the Toronto shows!!

Was anyone able to get the first few rows on the floor and if so hoooww did you get them?! I have Left Floors in Row 40. Ideally I'd like lower bowl seats in section 108, 109, 118 or 119. The only reason I'm willing to trade is because me and my friend are really short so it might be hard to see the stage.

I have an extra pair for sale - an outstanding pair in Section 110, Row 8, that is side by side, for the Toronto coldplay show on July 31, 2008.
This pair puts you 8 rows away from coldplay, literally.
I sat in these exact seats last time Coldplay was in Toronto and took some pictures (my camera is terrible and doesn't have image stabilization, so they are a little blurry, but you get an idea of how close you are to the band and how good your seats are).
PM if interested.

Hey everyone!
Due to an error on Ticketmaster's part, which they refuse to correct, I have an extra ticket for the first Toronto show on July 30th, which I can't use, as I already have another. It's section 310, which I've sat in before, and absolutly loved. The view is great. I'm selling the ticket at face value, however I'm willing to negotiate for less. I just really want to see this ticket used by a fan, and not just thrown out. Message me if you're interested :)

I'm in need of some advice. I've got two pairs of tickets. One pairs in Section 117 in Row 7 right next to the stage. The others are right floors in Row 25. Which ones better?
I'm leaning towards the 117 section, but I'm afraid I might be at too much of an angle at the side. The floors would be great... but I'm afraid I might be too short to enjoy the view to the stage.

Go for the row 25 floors. Coldplay drops a lot of pretty things ie: balls and butterflies... I know, personally I can't wait to be a part of that! You won't get that same experience in any other section... 25 rows really isn't that far back!

I understand your concern since on their webpage and other general media they only list the wednesday show for July. But I have tickets to the thursday show and hope Chris and all to be there. If anyone has any theories on why the thursday show (which is sold out) is not listed, please let me know. Thanks.

I wouldn't read too much into the show not being there. They added the show after the July 30th was sold out on the same day so my guess is that they're still in the process of updating it.
Plus, they've mailed out tickets for both shows so I'm fairly confident that they will be coming on both days.

It was on a first come first served basis... I think both my boyfriend and I each won a pair :)... Atleast I'm assuming... The message was rather vague:
"Congratulations your request was a success. You will receive an email in two days with instruction on how to access the exclusive sound check party"
So does that mean, yes? lol Anyone else get that same message? I'm seriously hoping it does.

Have you ever seen a show from either section? 105 is waaaaay at the back... It's super far away and shoved in the corner... Those tickets always sell last because no one wants them. 309 is actually really close... I've sat in 310 before and you honestly don't feel like your in upper seating at all. Regardless, Coldplay has a way of making every seat feel like an amazing one!

I think it means you got them! Congrats! Is it wrong that I'm a tad bit jealous? lol
We expect a full review with pictures hehe. Have a blast!

I am SO excited! SEVEN DAYS!
I was just watching some videos of Coldplay the last time they were in Toronto when they called us the best audience they ever had and how he couldn't wait to come back with new songs! It should be an amazing concert..

Hi guys! I'm going to the Toronto show. I'm really excited because I get to meet the band. It's a long story, but my cousin knows Chloe (who's engaged to Johnny but I'm sure all of you know that xD) and we (my mom & aunt and I) are seeing the show with her (and my cousin and his wife). So we're going to be able to go back stage. I also get to meet the baby and I'm very excited for that as well. =]
I'll tell everyone how it went if people are interested! Can't wait. Hope everyone has a great time. :D
ETA: Does anyone know the opening acts for the show?
You WHAT ??? :stunned:
you're so damn lucky !!!!
Im looking forward to read how it went and see your pics !

I have 2 tickets for the Wed. July 30th show in Toronto, at Air Canada Centre. I bought these originally but then ended up getting better seats. I'm only looking to get face value for them - $226 for the pair, or best offer. Please let me know if any interest.
The seats are in Sec. 321, first row!! Excellent view of the stage!!

ah yes, i've had them on craiglist for a couple weeks now and haven't had much luck. I should try ebay... I would totally just sell them for the price printed on the tickets, but I just don't want to lose money. :(

This may sound crazy but posting them on eBay days before the show is probably a good idea cause people are scrambling to buy tickets.
And worse comes to worse you can sell them to a scalper on the day of the show.. you didn't hear this from me hehe

Hahah :) There are actually people trying to sell them on Craigslist & Ebay... Makes me so mad... But they're stupid because it's a guest list... So you can't actually sell them! Real fans are losing out because of those idiots. Ya, I've actually been leaving my camera at home for most concerts these days, and I rather enjoy it! But I can't be that close to Coldplay and NOT take pictures, lol.

To anyone trying to sell tickets on here... It's probably the worst place to advertise as most people are big fans, and therefore have tickets already. Put 'em up on Craigslist for below face value or best offer and you'll get rid of them fairly quickly... You're taking a huge risk if you expect to sell them for more than they're worth though.

that's kind of in the back corner... i haven't sat there before... don't worry about the view though... coldplay has a way of making a large venue seem rather intimate... also, the ACC is pretty great at doing that too! :)
also, you're in row 1 which is absolutly awesome because there will be no one in front of you... so you'll have a perfect unobstructed view!
as for cameras... when i contacted the ACC late last week they said they still hadn't heard anything from the promoter on whether or not cameras were allowed... however, i'm going to the sound check party, and we're allowed to have cameras there so i think it's safe to assume they are allowed for the show, as well... as long as it's a point and shoot of course!

Ah, I know what you mean! I'm going to be 16 rows away from my boyfriend, lol. But really, he didn't decide to go 'til the last minute, and like you said with you and your friends, neither of us would have gotten the seats we did if we had to find two seats together. I think the only way people would be willing to switch is if you were offering them a better seat, and they weren't sitting with anyone... Maybe you can find a way to stand together... Maybe... You'd have to be sneaky and creative about it though, lol.

I live in the East York area closer to The Beach, but my parents have decided on moving to a larger house right by Warden and Danforth Rd, for the sake of having a larger entertainment area (ie. more spaceous living room, kitchen..). I can't even bear to imagine it!

Toronto Radar: Coldplay Ready to Soft-Rock the Air Canada Centre
By Richard Trapunski
Toronto is a busy place. With restaurants and bars opening and closing everyday, concerts being performed nonstop, and news developing faster than it can be reported, it's hard to stay afloat. You need a guide. Martiniboys is here to help. Keeping our ears to the ground and our eyes to the blogs, we've collected all the hot buzz that you need to stay informed about your fair city. Whether it be a new store opening or a shocking political scandal, you'll find it here. There's no need to thank us, we're just doing our jobs. Okay, you can thank us.
http://www.martiniboys.com/files/mbo/coldplay-content.gif
This is a begrudging FYI. While I'll conceal my own personal feelings towards the band (I think you can guess), I have to grit my teeth and admit that Coldplay are still one of the biggest bands in the world right now. Enough so, that when they come to town, it's always newsworthy. So I couldn't in good conscience ignore it. For those who don't know, Coldplay play a non-offensive brand of arena-ready (good for the Air Canada Centre crowd) bombastic rock anthems that have been compared to Jeff Buckley and Echo and the Bunnymen, but in reality are more comparable to Rod Stewart and Peter Gabriel. Oh, and U2. It's impossible to forget U2, what with Chris Martin's Bono Complex. Yes, that's a thing. So get out your lighters (or these days cell phones) and get ready to soft rock!

Urban Planner: July 30, 2008
MUSIC: Coldplay's in town. If you're looking for tickets, look no further than the friendly scalpers who will undoubtedly swarm the ACC around 6 p.m. tonight. Make sure you've made a hefty cash withdrawal beforehand, though—even on Craigslist, it's hard to find a nosebleed ticket selling for less than $100. I guess some people still really like "Clocks." Air Canada Centre (40 Bay Street), 7:30 p.m., $49.50–$97.50.

So I just got back from the ACC right now.. this hotel is amazing.
Royal Plaza or something, but its just down the street.
I looked into the ACC and I could see the magic balls and the backgrounds..
I'm sooooo jealous of everyone who won the soundcheck party.
As we were walking towards the hotel I saw the signs for the soundcheck and went to check it out, I thought that guy would've been nice enough to give me a pass considering I'm young and obviously had an interest in Coldplay.. but no.
3 more hours until the doors open!!!!

Drummer Will Champion, left, says Coldplay refrains from adding musicians on tour to replicate its studio sound.
Drummer says ACC shows tonight and tomorrow feature intimate atmosphere, `fantastic' supporting act
Leading up to their two Toronto dates at the Air Canada Centre, tonight and tomorrow, Coldplay fans should be delighted to know the band is gaining momentum on its current tour, at least according to Will Champion, the band's drummer.
The man should know. He's probably got the best seat in the house and has watched the show come together over the first few weeks of the latest world tour.
"It always takes a while to get up and running. ... It's not until you actually play in front of an audience that you realize what works and what doesn't. We're kind of really hitting our stride around now, which is great," he said on the line from last week's tour stop in Philadelphia.
"The stage show is something we've been working out the past few months. It's just really, again, you don't know what looks good until you have a full audience in order for you to see how the dynamic works with the visuals and the sound. It's gotten a lot better than what it was right before the tour started."
The band's latest album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, was created with renowned producers Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, and like the self-categorized "heavy soft rock" that the band has perfected over the course of its decade together, it's a very lush, big sounding record, with some new instrumentation and the noticeably lower vocal register of lead singer Chris Martin.
Unlike many other bands – for example, U2 – Champion says the group refrains from adding musicians on tour to replicate its studio sound. "No, it's just the four of us. We're always really adamant that we want just the four of us onstage; it's a very strong image and we'd like to keep it that way.
"We have little tricks and ways and means of doing some things when a song needs a bit of push or filling out, and we can do that.
"It all comes from our desire to have a very homemade feel to the record, so the visual side of it, the uniforms that we wear, we didn't want it to be an overly produced or techno-feeling stage show. We wanted it to feel a lot more intimate ... so it doesn't become dwarfed by these big arenas that we're playing. It's always a constant challenge, and we're always trying to break the line between us and the audience and make them feel like they're really part of the show."
To that end, in Chicago last week, Champion and Martin actually came out for an unscheduled second encore; it was so unexpected, group members Jonny Buckland and Guy Berryman were already in a cab on the way back to their hotel.
"It was a fantastic audience, they were still making so much noise we couldn't leave," Champion said.
In addition to the main event, Champion also urges fans to show up for the opening act – in this case, the very hotly tipped Santogold – as the band does take an active role in choosing supporting acts and likes to use its star power to reflect on smaller bands.
"We're very keen, and make sure that the support acts are young, fresh and original. If we can in any way provide a platform for these fantastic artists that we love – the (Santogold) record is fantastic – if anyone picks up on that, it's a great thing.
"Regardless of the ailing music industry, live music is still so important, it's the one thing that can't be copied, it can't be pirated, it's so unique and it's so important to us to have the whole show be the strongest thing. We want to give people memorable evenings, so it's crucially important that we get great support bands, and Santogold is just fantastic."

Robbed! Surely that was the cry of many Canadian Coldplay fans when the band cut several previously announced dates from its North American tour. Instead of a two-night stand in October, Coldplay’s local constituency will have to make do with this single-night appearance in July. Chances are the Brits will make up for this grave affront if newly released album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008) shapes up to be the global smash that all quarters are expecting.
The new music largely makes good on singer Chris Martin’s claim that “this album was fuelled by a desire to move from black and white into colour.” With the help of producer Brian Eno, the band has been able to tweak its formula and push into new terrain without sacrificing the swoony, atmospheric quality of its most memorable hits. Demand for Coldplay will likely be as high as ever, which, of course, is great news for scalpers.—
When: Jul. 30/08
Doors 7:30 p.m.
How Much: $49.50–$97.50 in advance from Ticketmaster.

Wow, absolutely killer setlist. Glad to see they're switching things up little by little. Would have loved some Green Eyes in there, but Don't Panic is even better.
Although, I'm hoping they go back to Life is for Living at SOME point on this tour. I'll hold out hope forever!

Absolutly AMAZING! I'm too speechless right now to type... Full review will come tomorrow... and pictures later tonight (that's if they're not all blurry... I was shaking sooo much!)....
They played WARNING SIGN for us at the Sound Check Party!!! It was absolutly unbelievable!! THEN... My heart sunk as I heard something I never thought I'd hear live... "When I counted up my demons..." unfortunately... it stopped there because Chris kept messing up the song! But we got one line of Everything's Not Lost and that's pretty darn cool!
After that... We got to meet the band!
And an amazing show followed...
Like I said, better review tomorrow... I'm too busy being ridiculous amounts of excited right now! I can barely type... I'm sure that all made totally no sense, lol

Do you know what was the last song? The Dubliners, I supposed.

as i posted earlier - opening act was Santogold (hip/hop with lots of electro sounds)... She started at about 7:45pm and finished about 8:15pm (quick 30min set). Then it was literally crazy waiting until 9pm when Coldplay took the stage. They wrapped up their encore at 10:41pm sharply. Short concert if you ask me but totally awesome nonetheless.

Wow, the show was sooo good. The guys sounded great!
I had great seats too - CFRL Row 33. My only problem was some of the annoying people in the audience, especially this couple in front of me who were drunk and didn't stop making out during the show. But other than that, amazing show! :)

wow crazy pics.
I wonder how the setlist will be different. I have this hope inside me that they'll play shiver. Even though it's very unlikely.
I was on the subway at about 11:30 and I saw this girl and her boyfriend come on...I was so jealous. I was like "how was the concert?" They just said good. Pfft. I'm expecting mindblowing fantastic amazing.
