Looks like I may have to join you guys in Montreal, seems like Coldplay bailed on the Ottawa show for the first time :embarassed: I really hope thy add it back up because they have a huge gap between some shows. I remember for the Twisted Logic tour they quickly added Ottawa, and they were here for the AROBTTH tour, so I wouldn't make sense why they'd just bail.

We were on two computers and the phone yesterday- and the best tickets we could get where in sections 104, 304, 317, or 400 something?? Behind the stage or in back of the center- no thanks!! I don't understand why they released such horrible seats- did anyone get anything decent???

We decided to wait to purchase (thanks Montreal- I am taking your advice!!) and keep our eyes open for something to get realeased on Ticketmaster- or for someone to sell their tickets- although I saw someone selling there 104 (behind the stage) seats on craigslist for $190 EACH yesterday... Crazy!!!

Hope everyone else got decent seats- and best of luck to those that are waiting it out too!!

I was still pulling up seats in 304, 104 and the 400s around 3pm yesterday... Takes a few tries before it will actually give you anything- but I don't believe that the show is *truly* sold out.

Montreal- when I pull something up good I will definately post a message- and anyone else- please do the same!

I tried on ticket master yesterday and it gives the same price that people paid, the whole 100$+.

Plus on radio stations everywhere (or at least today on Mix 96) they were saying it was a sold out show and everything.

They are not the greatest seats and the sound quality wont be the same. In relation to the stage, think of sections 102/110 as if it was the blind spot of the car. You'll still be about to see the stage.

yeah..i had a feeling. ive been trying to find pictures from last show to determine how the view was for folks sitting there! really seems they cant see the screen at all..which is a significant part of the whole experience, i find. and now ur tellin me the sound quality too! ahh lol. im not likin it. but its much better than the section 433 tix im sitting on.

think will follow montreal's advice about waiting 2 weeks before and try again. so upsetting

i would like to know people's experiences there tho. cos it really is close to the stage..im 14 rows back.

So I got my tickets saturday at 12:05! Went to an Admission outlet and managed to have a pair in section 201. Not really far from the stage and not as expensive as the 100 level! Hopefully those seats will be great!

I doubt it... all major concert stages at the Bell Centre will start at the blue line (102, 112), unless it's a dome setup (360 degrees) which is at centre ice. I don't think there's enough room to go further back.

Best case scenario, win the auction or goto the Ottawa show in October.

I have to decide whether to go with Section 114, Row W tickets or Floor, Row GG. My friend is willing to switch tickets with me as she's not a huge fan (I know! The horror!)

Does anyone know which of the following two configurations is accurate for the Bell Centre (they are slightly different, see the stage placement)?

Which ticket would be better for me, bearing in mind that I am about 5 foot 5 inches with heels on.

Tough call. We had CCs (I think?) in Ottawa last year and we felt we were too far back from the stage. I'm short and the couple in front of us was making out the entire time- so we didn't get a great view. We thought after the concert that low level seats on the side would have been better... Guess it depends where in 114 your seats are?

Richard Ashcroft was pretty good though- we saw him open for Coldplay at Ottawa. I was hoping we would get Fiona Apple in Ottawa- but he turned out to be great.

My tickets are in Section 104 Row D. I have seen pics of the concerts so far on this tour and depending on the stadium, seats sometimes wrap around the stage/screen and sometimes not.

I am in the first few seats of the section (closer to 103 ...) Should I be able to see the screen ? I know it'll be like sitting front row on the side of a movie theatre, but as long as I see it i'll be happy....Or should I sell these and pay 100$ more for 103,102 type tickets ? Thanks !! Row A is 6 rows before the wall, on the balcony. So you will be able to see the entire stage, but the band might appear small to you.

Oh God it was CRAZY!!!My first concert with a Canadian audience and I'm used to French (from France) crowds (they don't sing...at least the concerts I went to)WAOW what a differences!!Fantastic atmosphere I found (as Chris said, especially for a Tuesday night).I have videos and stuff so I'll see what I can do.I really really enjoyed the show.They were really trying to get close to the audience so at one point they came to the back, not far away from where I was standing.That was probably one the best parts.It was for Scientist and Death will never Conquer.Chris spoke a little bit of French, which was pretty funny I must say.He messed up at one point, some piano stuff :D They also did Green Eyes at the end after Death and All is Friends.Anyway...I'm a little deaf right now.

hey guys! was an awesome show. still reeling from it! of course, felt too short. but guess thats just the massive coldplay fan in me that just cant get enuff :p

the energy of the crowd was great! and i thought *I* was pumped!! it was amazing concert. chris's french is beyond charming! i was also very happy about my seats. section 112, row B. and the side stages were def a cool addition this tour! it was so cool being able to get close to the band without having to be in the first five rows of the floor.

Drawing heavily on new material and feeling the love from a huge crowd, British rockers appear to be well on their way to new ground

Love-ins of this magnitude don't happen often. British rock band Coldplay held court last night, bringing its soaring, anthemic pop to an enraptured crowd of 19,000 fans at the Bell Centre.

It's no secret that Coldplay wants to be the new U2. A lack of musical heft aside, the group appears to be well on its way. The standing ovation started the moment the lights dropped, and didn't let up until the end of the encore. Cheers were deafening and singalongs were omnipresent.

Leaning heavily on material from their new album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, Chris Martin and crew - guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion - made a point of not resting on their laurels. Rather, they showed a continued determination to perfect the art of the unifying, larger-than-life rock concert.

After setting the mood with the new disc's intro Life in Technicolour, they jumped right into its raunchiest track, the bluesy Violet Hill. The crowd didn't miss a beat, joining in from the first verse.

Old favourite Clocks followed, eliciting a roar from the opening piano notes. A laser light show provided visual enhancement. But it was nothing compared to the energy Martin brought to In My Place.

Calling for the house lights to be turned up, he went into showman mode - skipping, fist-pumping and bouncing from side to side - much to the crowd's delight. The chorus, "Yeaaaahhh ... How long must you wait for him?" was sung by virtually everyone in attendance.

But Martin was not done. Joining Buckland at the end of the catwalk, he draped his arm over his bandmate's shoulder and sang to the rafters, falling to the ground at song's end.

His schtick worked like a charm, as did pretty much everything last night. Martin's exuberant, goofball grace is contagious. And his band held its own, particularly Buckland, who seemed to delight in drawing new sonic textures out of his guitar.

"Sometimes we go to certain towns - in England, Wales, Germany or Australia - and people don't sing along, so we get depressed," Martin said. "So we come here, and everyone is going for it 100 per cent, and it makes us feel fantastic."

It was a savvy introduction to the next number, the band's ginormous, career-launching ballad Yellow. The room erupted. It was the only song of the night off the band's 2000 debut Parachutes. The message: Coldplay has moved on. And its fans have followed.

The group gave thanks, sprinting to the back of the arena to perform The Scientist from up in the stands. The encore brought confetti (during Politik), and fireworks (on the big screen); and, in closing, three more off the new album.

Handclaps and chants of "Olé olé-olé-olé!" continued well after the lights came up. The night, as they say, was won.

Brooklyn singer-rapper Santogold brought urban edge to the opening slot. An indie-rock-hip-hop version of M.I.A., she'll fare better when she returns to a more intimate venue.

The show was completely amazing. It's so nice to see a band that enjoys being onstage as much as we enjoy being in the audience! The only way I can describe it is that it was a complete party from beginning to end, with the highlight being Lovers in Japan.

And last night my friends- is why Montreal ROCKS for concerts- especially COLDPLAY concerts!!!!!!

Amazing show- amazing band- amazing crowd. FUN FUN FUN. Great energy- great show. LOVED Lovers in Japan with the butterflies!!! That was so neat. I was a little disappointed when we didn't get any balls or flying confetti for Yellow- but that totally made up for it!!!!!

Would have liked to hear one or two more tracks from album one- and I didn't love the Techno version of GPASUYF- but- still an awesome show. Scientist acoustic was beautiful. Yellow was beautiful. Chris was not as great on Yes live as on track- but I figured that would be a hard one for him Live.

Wish I could see them in Montreal again!!!

Forgot to mention- great seats. Row P- decently close to the stage- but- TWO ROWS behind the right side stage!!! Two songs- front and center- that was AWESOME!!!!

They have stages on both sides. We got two songs on our side- (right of stage when looking from audience)- the other side got part of one (but I don't remember them actually getting the full band set up singing two songs)? Chris ran up on our side a couple of other times as well during a few songs- every time I turned to my husband and was like CAMERA!!!! It was awesome!

i was pretty close!!! esp when they came to the right-side stage. defintely best coldplay show ive seen yet! the energy was awesome, crowd was great, and the boys brought their A-game. chris's french was hilarious! i got a clip of that too lol. so much fun. i want to see them again!! im considering ottawa now...

The show was completely amazing. It's so nice to see a band that enjoys being onstage as much as we enjoy being in the audience! The only way I can describe it is that it was a complete party from beginning to end, with the highlight being Lovers in Japan.

Does anyone remember at which point Chris played a small bit of Erik Satie's Six Gnossiennes 1? (it was maybe 30-45 seconds)

I was filming him when he played part of Satie's piece !!

I must say, this show was absolutely AMAZINGGG !!!! I never thought I'd have so much fun on the floor seeing my favourite band, and mann it was beautiful ! The butterflies falling from the ceiling during Lovers in Japan (which is ironic because my boyfriend was here with me and he's Japanese...anyways !) was so lovely ! I took handfuls and handfuls of them home...lol.

During the last song too, the guards let people stand in the alley/passageway between the rows, and my boyfriend and I started dancing in a circle square-dance style ! 'Twas quite funny :).

All in all, this show was so beautiful, and amazing, and everything positive ! Sooo lovely. I'm so glad I got to see Coldplay again ! Man I love these guys....
