Thanks to an email from our female sicilian friend, we identified for sure the landscapes and the bulding in which 'Violet Hill' video was shot (the video was spread by a dutch site and then by Coldplaying.com).
The first images show, as someone could think, the Etna volcano (these images are mixed with other ones, taken from Enna's hills, close to Nicoletti Lake mentioned in the past).
The building in which Coldplay are singing and moving as soldiers (when Chris shakes his hammer) is Palazzo Biscari, the most important private building in Catania (Sicily).
Its era of building is identified at the end of '600, when it was reorganized by Paterṇ Castello Principi di Biscari's family, after an eartquake happened in 1693 (in fact, some damages are notable even today).
The mansion house is enriched by paintings, frescos, marbles, prestigous rooms, canvases and it was an important museum and gallery of art in the past. The most famous visitor was Johann Wolfgang Goethe who was welcomed by Biscari Prince on May 3th 1787, during his Italian vacation.
Here two photos of the building (you can note that is the same mansion house shot in the video):

This is a 'choice' in line with the new trend of the band to reassess the art in all its forms, of course through their publication Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends.
