With all due respect to Chris, he doesn't seem quite as confident in the public eye as Bono and Paul McCartney. There's no doubt that Chris is a clever guy with very clear views, but he's not quite as clear and charismatic in his public speaking as others are.

Well, when I first met Chris, he was hanging out with Bono in the mall at the time, and I suppose great artists draw inspiration off one another.. Dylan did pretty much the same earlier in his career, so it's not all that uncommon. They both have similar interests in improving life for those in need in Africa - finding real solutions to problems of global poverty, injustice, and fighting disease epidemics. I suppose, it's only natural!

Yeah that's the most important aspect of it, that they, and the bands they represented, stick out for something, and believe that it is actually possible to improve human race. It must be very heavy sometimes for Chris and Coldplay to feel the pressure that you have to leave up to that standard, but so far so good.

haha!
dunno about that tbh - bono wore a pair exactly like that during the All That You Can't Leave Behind era. we could just say they're unisex ...
i think chris is a great guy, but he's no frontman. he's easily embarrassed in public and he seems pretty uncomfortable about being a rock star - he shouldn't have got uncomfortable when people started asking him about his private jet and all that, he should've just said that nothing disallows him from having one and not taken shit from the reporters. i think the public/tabloids bully him a bit cos he's not seen as the most manly of men, and bono and paul at least have the respect to back up their big gestures.
i honestly don't think coldplay will ever be u2 or the beatles - they're just too nice.

Codlplay is starting to get darker and more ironic with every album, and it will reach a peak of darkness until the wil be nice again. I mean, go through this journey (http://www.theetherealconnection.com)
