These are the timings/dates we will follow for the awards this year.

15th September - Ian/Jen creates the 2008 awards sub-section so people can get campaigning.
15th October - Voting starts.
15th November - Voting ends.
Towards the end of November awards shall be handed out.

Now in order to nominate who you want to win a award(s).

1. Copy and paste the above template, and Pick 1 forum member for each section.

2. Please then send your forms of too Awards2008 via the PM option.

3. Your not allowed to vote for yourself.

4. Your not allowed to create a new member in order to fix the votes either.

5. It is not compulsory to vote for every section, but it would be more fun if you did.

6. Voting will end on the 15th of November,and the winners will be announced late november If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me, but please send your questions to 'Awards2008'. Otherwise they may not be answered.

7. Reasons don't have to be given, however I am sure if you wish too you can say who you voted for on this thread and also run your own campaigns for whom you want to win.

They are not broken so they dont need fixing...

The only thing I could suggest is the presentation of them needs to be a little more orgainised... and Ideas of counting the votes... needs to be improved..

I have done this myself and it is a challange...

I am sure some would have the brains to set up a microsite, in order to make voting easier.

I know also the logistics of dealing with different times zones to get people to present the awards is a challange it self..

I had to go to sleep, and leave it in the hands of a few trusted members... when I woke up it was all over but a overwhelming success for coldplaying of which yours has been as well..

Every december is the time for coldplaying awards.
There are maany categories for example "The Biggest Coldplay Fan", "The Friendlist User" etc. And the coldplayers vote for someone they think should win that award. After everyone who wants has voted, someone (=usually Rick) counts the votes and then he or a volunteer tells who the winner is.

The winner gets all the glory (for the next 2 days at least :lol:) and losers are sad.

One other point, I think there are alot of people who are overlooked and don't have much of a chance for an award!, alot of it is a popularity contest, I know it sort of is but we can limit it by saying.... THAT YOU CAN ONLY WIN ONE AWARD, NOONE CAN WIN MORE THAN ONE!, I think that is fair, and If we do end up having about 60 awards, why not 60 smiley faces?...Some of them, I know are not won by people, but books and films and albums, so, yeah, there won't be 60 smiley faces, but near that!

And another thing, alot of the awards had F**king in the title- WE DON'T NEED THAT!, WE DON'T NEED SWEARING, OK, it's not cool, it doesn't make it better!, lol, so yeah, no swearing!

I have also looked through the the Awards threads for previous years and there's a few people who have helped alot!, like Rick and some of the others (sorry, I don't know all your names!)... I think everyone who helps with it, I mean...REALLY HELPS (Like I'm doing now, HINT, HINT lol), Should all choose a COMPLETELY RANDOM one which will make people laugh, and so we can have fun, I like the sound of the Scarborough Ambassador, lol...So yeah, MAYBE?

(or nominate you!), For a better chance of getting voted for a particular award, you should start a Campaign, go around the forum pleading your case and BEGGING for people's votes!, OK, does that seem OK?....There are a few awards that I am looking at soo maybe I might go on a campaign!... I suggest you start your campaign around September, because if you start now, noone will remember and people may laugh at you (Lol, just joking!)...no, but there is just no point of starting sooo early, unless you really like doing it!
