KINGS OF LEON, JAY-Z and THE VERVE will headline this year’s Glastonbury festival.
The brothers FOLLOWILL will top the bill on the opening Friday night (June 27), hip hop heavyweight Jay follows a day later (June 28), while Wigan’s finest rock beasts will close the bash on the Sunday (June 29).
Co-organiser EMILY EAVIS said: “We are over the moon about these acts playing, all of which bring something completely different Glastonbury.
“Kings of Leon have played several times, from starting in the new bands tent a few years back. They are one of the most exciting live bands around, and this feels like their moment to finally headline the pyramid.
“We see the Kings as part of the great heritage of Friday night headliners RADIOHEAD, COLDPLAY and THE WHITE STRIPES.
“The Verve are an all-time classic Glastonbury band. I saw them recently at The Roundhouse and they were amazing.
“Jay-Z is gonna be historical, and we feel honoured that he is coming all the way over to play our show.”
