Just think of bands this way, the lesser known they are, the better they are.

Although that leads to the conclusion that the world's best band can't exist because no-body would have heard of them.

They were brilliant last night in Aldershot

There was no barrier between crowd and stage, so I managed to grab the set-list, and they played:
Light The Way
Half Light
Shake Those Windows
The Awkward Goodbye
The Getaway
Beautiful
Vehicles and Animals
Hurricane
Don't Hold Your Breath
Westside
The Outsiders
*Song introduced as no title, but on set-list as "Granda's Symphony"*
Wires
Summer Sun
24 Hours

what?
I dont know but when the last album was out they were EVERYWHERE in London. I mean, they were in the charts, on tV, their posters were all over the fuckin places.

and then I was back in berlin and saw them in this tiny club and we talked about how strange it is how big they are in the uk and how they totally arent over here.

what exactly do you mean, pretty small? Well, compared to Coldplay and radiohead, maybe.

Nah, its just that following the 3rd album nobody seemed to care. The singles all flopped badly, and the album went into the bargain bin almost immediatly.

They deserve more recognition than they're getting basically

how do you get from peek position to bargain bin so quickly, thats really strange

Interesting, here it just didnt change at all. Noone cared in the first place, noone still cares. Except for Wires of course.
Which is a shame because I think their third album was tons times better than the second one. And live the songs were a lot more intense, too

They deserve more recognition than they're getting basically
its always this or the other way round, isnt it?

They released their 3rd album at the wrong time, and the radio stations couldn't be bothered playing the new songs instead they played crap

Ahh you're so luck you got to see them! I missed their last show when they played near me :( They definitely deserve more recognition as a quality band!

New album, which has slipped under the radar in terms of any news of it:

http://images.play.com/covers/10713289x.jpg
Black Swam, released 24th August

I think the tracklisting contains the following 10 songs:
'Superhuman Touch', 'The Getaway', 'Black Swan Song', 'Don't Hold Your Breath', 'Love Come Rescue', 'Light the Way', 'The Unknown', 'The Awkward Goodbye', 'Magical Mistakes', 'Rubik's Cube'

But like I said nothing has come though on the new newsletter

I saw them live, I walked on on them, only time I've ever done that

So bad and boring

I'd never heard of them until the day I read that they'd be the support act of Keane at their show in Winterthur last Sunday...! :)
That's why I actually thought I might have a listen to them and immediately fell in love with their music! I only had to listen to their album "Tourist" one time and it was love at first "listen" - which actually doesn't happen to me that often as it usually takes me some time to grow fond of a whole album... ;)
So I was pretty much looking forward to seeing them live and well, what should I say? They were totally awesome! Their performance was great and they seem to be very sympathetic guys, too! :) Joel actually talked quite a lot as well. He also told us that one of their new songs (Black Swan Song) was about his grandpa... I think that was quite moving and so are the lyrics! :) Here's the video to it which I made on Sunday: Black Swan Song

I just got round to getting the new album, Black Swan.

Don't like it. At all.

The fact that I hate it really depresses me, because I love all their previous albums, and I love the band and I think I might even be a bit in love with Joel (his voice makes me melt!). So listening to this very mediocre 'generic' kinda alt-rock (think Snow Patrol's latest effort) after brilliant songs like You Got the Style, The Outsiders, Wires and pretty much 90% of the songs from their other albums, I just feel like I want to pretend this album never happened.

:(

I have just gotten my hands on some Athlete, the youtube stuff I've seen seems quite good, so maybe they're another group I can begin to like! :)
