As many on the board know, some of us have compiled a CD of music by members of the forum to raise money for the Coldplaying Charity Club. The CD should be available for sale in mid-March or early April.

I'm looking for volunteers who are going to the Mexico City shows, who would be willing to print and hand out fliers announcing the CD's upcoming release.

Here are 6 Flyers, which you can print either in colour or black & white (In the case of the FLag, I recommend colour only).(Thanks so much to Victaniac for the lovely designs!:D ) Feel free to hand out as many or as few as you like!

This could be the last cp show for a while, and it's a great opportunity for us to promote the CD, as well as to introduce new people to this great forum!!

Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated - Thanks in advance!!:D

(Could someone be so kind as to translate this post into Spanish? I'll add it to the post if someone can.)

EDIT: The show will be the day after Chris's birthday...what a great gift!!

I almost forgot. When I post the fliers, if someone could also translate the text into Spanish, I'll post Spanish versions too.

Sorry. I'm one of those Anglo-centric North Americans, lol.:embarassed:

ok i'll do it

The CD is called How We See The World, and it features songs written and recorded by people from this forum. All the money raised from the sale of the CD will go to the Coldplaying Charity Club. There are some threads about it in the CCC forum, and the Mods and Ian all know about it and support it.

Thanks for volunteering. If you have any more questions, Let me know.:)

THat's exactyly what I'm hoping for. But the next shows won't be for a while, so there will be different 'available now' fliers instead of 'coming soon'. The cool thing is we might see a bunch of new members as a result of this too. :)

Victaniac's done a gorgeous flyer which I'll post as soon as she sends me the final drafts!!:)

And here's the 'unofficial' press release, if anyone needs to know more:

"Open Hearts, Open-Source"

The internet, often a source of controversy with its predators, porn and other questionable content, has often proved also to be a great resource, helping you find your old high-school classmates, Educating your children and providing a wealth of other tools and information. Musicians looking to expand their audience have found a host of new fans on the web. Charity Organizations hoping to increase revenues have also found it to be invaluable in reaching the masses.

Now, in a one-of-a-kind venture, musicians and artists from around the globe are joining forces to use this powerful tool in a whole new way!

The members of www.coldplaying.com, the largest unofficial site on the net devoted to the band Coldplay, are proud to present 'How We See The World', a collection of tracks offerred to raise money the the Coldplaying Charity Club, a sub-group of the forum which helps spread the word about Fair Trade, sponsors Third World Children and supports numerous other causes.

What makes this disc unique is not only the quality independant talent it showcases, but the fact that it is the first completely 'open-source' benefit album. The music, artwork and even the title were entirely designed or chosen by forum members from around the world.

It is our hope that this project will reach far beyond the members of one on-line forum, and find its way into the hearts and minds of music lovers and the Globally concsious everywhere.

I only mean the CCC forum...the rest of the board is fair game. I don't mind good-humoured spam, but some people on here avoid it, and I don't want them avoiding the CCC because of it.

If anyone in Mexico City is blessed enough to meet the band, feel free to give them a flyer. I'd love for them to know what they've inspired us to do.:D

BUT: Because they have a tight schedule, and value their privacy highly, please don't try to push it on them. I don't want anything to reflect badly on the project, and I don't want them to have a negative feeling about it.;)

I know I probably don't have to say this, and I hope it doesn't offend anyone, but better safe than sorry.:)

SPREAD THE WORD!!!

I don't know how well it went yet, but 3 people agreed to pass them around. Zip replies from the Mexican forum, but at least the thread got 30+ views! :cheesy: Haha. So here's hoping we gain some new interest in the coming days!
