Hello!
Im keen to hear what people think of the toronto footage which has surfaced online after it being shown on tv. For those who havent seen it yet, its in the multimedia section..go there!
for those who have seen it..share your thoughts!..
do you think a reason the dvd wasnt released is because the show wasnt captured well..could have been better in places?
i think its good but still a bit to go to match u2's production in the arena and on film...its who they compare themselves with and they used the same director.. i think coldplays 'screen' they used on the tour didnt really work on the film, no real impact than it did when being there. chris's banter was fine but mentioned ashcroft too much. another random point..being from uk we always get standing section in the gigs here and so used to that...gives it way much more atmos down at the front and chris really plays off it but why film the ones with the silly seats in the crowd. it looks daft them all speparated out nice and evenly and arms length at the front..
rant over
ok..your thoughts!

I think that the performance and crowd was amazing, but I think, like you said, that the filming was not very creative. There was nothing that really set it apart from a show that had been recorded for TV, which could be exactly why they decided not to officially release it. The 2003 DVD was shot much more creatively and artistically and really set itslef apart. It was much more like a film.
And I think North America has seated area on the floor because of a Who concert back in the 70s, where several people died because they were trampled by people trying to get to the front. They banned General Admission seating in floors/venues larger than a certain size since then.

I was at the show, so I'm biased...I want to say it was f**king perfect, lol. But the 2003 DVD was better put together.
I've been to other shows at the ACC where the floor was openned up for standing room...it was cordonned of for this show to allow the film crew to move about freely in front of the stage.
As a film to remember an amazing show by, it's brilliant, but maybe it doesn't capture their live vibe as well as the first one.

I thought the show was awful, they didn't even play Chasing Cars, which is my favourite by them. I also shouted at Chris to 'F##k my ar##hole!!' several times and he didn't even look at me. I could tell he heard me, but he decides to blank one of his fans. Won't be wasting anymore money on Coldplay now.
Girls Aloud have my undivided attention from now on!!!

^um, they don't sing "Chasing Cars...."
Whatever, I'm not wasting anymore energy on you.
I haven't seen the performance yet-waiting for it to shown on t.v here and plus I'm too lazy to sit here and download. But I'm still sure it was an awesome performance. :)

It was actually better than I thought it would be. But they should have let me shoot it! hehe I'd be all over that stage. In their faces and stuff. They'd hate me lol
And what about the fancams? Was that not the toronto gig?

I thought that it was absolutley amazingly perfect.
The crowd was perfect, Coldplay was perfect.
Everything I thought was well put together.
I think it really captured the feeling of a live Coldplay gig.

I liked that there was more crowd focus. I think that's what was missing a bit from the 2003 DVD. You really got a sense of how big the crowd (and the stadium) was. goosebumps! hehe

Just ignore him. He's obviously just lacking attention in his life and the only way he can get it is by spamming on websites. Feel sorry for him

yeah.. i do to.. waas a good show.. but the Vancouver concert was better.. lol .. no it was a good show...... they changed alot of the concert production for the toronto gig.. i think stage and lights and stuff diffrently then the one i was at.. i also thought it was interesting how chris said "thanks for putting up with being a coldplay fan" or something like that.. anyways i hope we get some kind of documentry next...
oh and btw, that much music trainsmits that concert in really good quailtiy.. i have a media center computer and will record it on the 15.. .. if i could get the commercials out of the video, i could maybe upload it as a torrent .. cause its DVD quality almost.. well i thnk also that we may still actually get this dvd, but im not certain yet

I watched it on internet, it was a streaming vid...
Omfg, during 1 hour 32 mins, I couldn't stop shivering, I screamed so much, like if I was there... It was absolutely great...
Fortunately, I was alone at home, I wasn't annoyed by anyone...

It's awesome!
Though, IMO - Chris used far too many times "So far..." kind of sentences.
