Vegemite......although I'm not from Australia.I had australian guest last year....man they rocked:cool4:
they also brought vegemite...for breakfast:stunned:
this was a bit too spicy after I just got up..
Wally
27-10-2006, 05:33 PM

Wally
27-10-2006, 05:58 PM
Im seeing U2 the night after you vertigo caz. Are you GA or seated?
vertigo caz
27-10-2006, 05:59 PM
GA of course! ;) ...you?
Wally
27-10-2006, 06:01 PM
Same. Its getting really exciting now. I am flying to Melbourne on the day, so just hope there aint a delay.
vertigo caz
27-10-2006, 06:03 PM
I'm so excited!!!! What time does your plane come into Melbourne so you can line up?
Wally
27-10-2006, 06:07 PM
Well, the plane leaves here at 6am and gets into Melbourne at 1230 local time. Then we have to go check in at Crown, then go down to Telstra Dome. Thing is, as much as I want to get a good spot, A) im going with my ol man who wont want to stand for longer than he really has to, B) to go to the dunny or whatever we will lose our spots anyway if we go into the venue at 5.30. So, im going to risk it, and try and tackle it when we get there!
vertigo caz
27-10-2006, 06:09 PM
I wish I could do that, but I cant (I wanna get close)....so its gonna be a long day for me! And hey good luck...we're at different concerts so push in as much as you please:lol:
Wally

Its good how Pearl Jam are going to Perth...you guys seem to miss out quite a bit
Wally
27-10-2006, 06:25 PM
Yes and no. Most of the acts that I have wanted to see (apart from U2 this time) have come to Perth. Coldplay was looking risky their for awhile, but it came together very nicely. I saw U2 last time they came on the Popmart tour.
vertigo caz
27-10-2006, 06:35 PM
Nice!!! This is my first U2 concert lol....how old were you when you went to popmart if you dont mind me asking?
Gitta Rensolo

Anyone catch the ARIA awards? Highlight for me obviously was when Bono was talking about Midnight Oil....what a beautiful man..I could listen to him speak all day...its like whatvever comes out of his mouth is pure poetry
Anyway I missed the Silverchair performance!!!! Was it good...I prob have to wait to see it on youtube
anniep_93
29-10-2006, 01:08 PM
I missed the second half of the arias. I thought that after Wolfmother performed it was at its peak so I left. Their performance was effing awesome!!!
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 01:10 PM
Yeah I caught that, they missed out on album of the year though...lucky I was getting bored and was about to turn it over...and Bono came on hahaha that was the highlight for me.
StarsKay
29-10-2006, 02:15 PM
vegemite to me tastes ugh, sooo wrong. my taste buds just don't agree with the stuff. tastes like soy sauce, extremely salty. everytime i diss vegemite, my dad says "what kind of aussie are you if you don't like vegemite?" lol my reply is always the same "remember, i'm only half aussie" LOL
and on australian idol, jess was great and damien was....woOh, beautiful voices :nice:
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 02:53 PM
good to know I'm not the only Aussie that doesnt like vegemite haha
StarsKay
29-10-2006, 02:59 PM
it's true. the only vegemite related thing i enjoy were the old school commercials. the jingle was so catchy
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 03:00 PM
and yes Damien was good on idol :)
StarsKay
29-10-2006, 03:06 PM
yeah go damien! but last week's big band theme was unbelieveably boring. idol should really scrap it. (no offence to those who really enjoyed it, though i hardly think i'd be offending many if any) lol
this isn't anything aussie related besides the fact it is showing on aussie tv right now, but when harry met sally is such a good movie!
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 03:09 PM
Is it just me....or is Ricky really irritating!!! arghhh he has to go next
StarsKay
29-10-2006, 03:10 PM
it's not you carole lol ricky definitely has to go next
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 03:12 PM
thank god!! why is he still there???? I really don't get it...i dont wanna see his scary eyes anymore hahaha
StarsKay
29-10-2006, 03:20 PM
LOL those eyes can do some real damage if he's not careful. he's definitely got the crazy-eye-stalker-thing happening. chris, right from the start reminds me of the lion from the wizard of oz. an unusual comparison but it's trueeeee lol
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 03:22 PM
hahaha chris is the paddlepop lion...i just realised that!!!!
StarsKay
29-10-2006, 03:27 PM
:laugh3: well a lion nonetheless.
elimination line-up:
5. ricky
4&3.chris/dean
2&1. damien/jessica
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 03:29 PM
Oh wait they call Chad Kroeger the paddle pop lion....is there a resemblance then?
Yep I agree with that...Damien and Jessica in the final! who would you pick to win out of those 2
StarsKay
29-10-2006, 03:37 PM
let that be the only connection lol however we have a new contestant to claim the title.
i want damien to win, but going by past idol winners, the public will vote against me and have jess win. it doesn't matter all that much i suppose, just as long as they make the final 2 since the runner-up and winner always get signed.
vertigo caz
29-10-2006, 03:41 PM
Well thats it...and it seems runner-ups do better than the winners down the track
Yep Ricky goes next:sneaky:
then chris

^yeah he does.
also, if anyone caught temptation tonight, 'chris martin' was a 'guess who' question. as soon as the host said "born in 1977 in devon, england..." i was like CHRIS! :bulb:

i've got my own footage from the 2nd brissy concert that i've kept all to myself lol i always decide to show it then decide not to because i sing a bit during the performance and i was loosing my voice and i was off key nearly 100% of the time - everytime i watch it i can't help think "shut the hell up kathy!" lol i think as the year goes on and we are feeling extremely deprived of coldplay material, i'll show it :nice: there are 2 clips, one of trouble and another of 'till kingdom come + ring of fire.

we're in the same boat: depriving everyone of great footage at the sake of preventing others from hearing our attempt to sing with the pros LOL
but it's pretty good because there is like one person in front of me then the stage with full view of chris.
i'll screen cap it and show you what i mean, that way there is no possibility of hearing my off tune attempts LOL

lol hey Kathy!!, hope you had an awesome Australia day with much lazing around and many, many slippers :D
i love Australia Day. i just got home, me and my family drove to Newcastle (mainly coz i just got myself a new camera and wanted an excuse to start using it :D ) and everyone was so patriotic and cool. we went to a park in Newy and about six cars had the Hottest 100 blasting so everyone could hear!!
Augie March came in at number one, i was really surprised at that! but glad also coz they're good. i only tuned in from #9 onwards coz i'd just got home from work and just remembered, but if the top nine was anything to go on the whole countdown was awesome :D
ok well after that patriotic ramble i shall be off to post THREE MORE TIMES SO I CAN GET 300 today :nice:
goodnight Australia

Congrats Claire, you did it lol and the night is early yet! :gossip:
your day sounds like a movie-like aus day lol to be honest i caught the last 30 tracks on the countdown and it really was great! i don't even know who the hell augie march are but i know the song (don't i?) lol
today was a long day, i stayed up so late i saw the sunrise and around 7am i though, hm, maybe i should get some sleep before work at 10 lol oddly enough i'm not even tired, and i have tomorrow off - yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! beach, movie, beach and beach again! can't wait, hopefully i don't sleep through it!

*Bump* C'mon fellow Aussies! We must keep this thread alive!
I just found this and had a bit of a chuckle...
Australia
We, the people of a free nation of blokes, sheilas and the occasional ******.
We come from many lands (although a few too many of us come from New Zealand) and although we live in the best country in the world, we reserve the right to bitch and moan about it whenever we bloody like.
We are One Nation but divided into many States.
First, there's Victoria, named after a queen who didn't believe in lesbians.
Victoria is the realm of Mossimo turtlenecks, cafe latte, grand final day and big horse races. Its capital is Melbourne, whose chief marketing pitch is that "it's liveable". At least that's what they think.
The rest of us think it is too bloody cold and wet.
Next, there's NSW, the realm of pastel shorts, macchiato with sugar, thin books read quickly and millions of dancing queens.
Its capital, Sydney has more queens than any other city in the world and is proud of it.
Its mascots are Bondi lifesavers who pull their Speedos up their cracks to keep the left and right sides of their brains separate.
Down south we have Tasmania, a State based on the notion that the family that bonks together stays together.
In Tassie, everyone gets an extra chromosome at conception. Maps of the State bring smiles to the sternest faces. It holds the world record for a single mass shooting, which the Yanks can't seem to beat no matter how often they try.
South Australia is the province of half decent reds, a festival of
foreigners and bizarre axe murders.
SA is the state of innovation. Where else can you so effectively reuse country bank vaults and barrels as in Snowtown, just out of Adelaide (also named after a queen). They had the Grand Prix, but lost it when the views of Adelaide sent the Formula One drivers to sleep at the wheel.
Western Australia is too far from anywhere to be relevant. Its main claim to fame is that it doesn't have daylight saving because if it did, all the men would get erections on the bus on the way to work.
WA was the last State to stop importing convicts and many of them still work there in the government and business.
The Northern Territory is the red heart of our land.
Outback plains, sheep stations the size of Europe, Kangaroos, Jackaroos, Emus, Uluru and dusty kids with big smiles. It also has the highest beer consumption of anywhere on the planet and its creek beds have the highest aluminium content of anywhere too. Although the Territory is the centre piece of our national culture, few of us live there and the rest prefer to fly over it on our way to Bali.
And there's Queensland. While any mention of God seems silly in a document defining a nation of half arsed sceptics, it is worth noting that God probably made Queensland as its beautiful one day and perfect the next.
Why he filled it with dickheads remains a mystery.
Oh yes and there's Canberra. Oh well.....lets leave it at that.
We, the citizens of Oz, are united by Highways, whose reacherous twists and turns kill more of us each year than murderers.
We are united in our lust for international recognition, so desperate for praise we leap in joy when a rag tag gaggle of corrupt IOC officials tells us Sydney is better than Beijing.
We are united by a democracy so flawed that a political party, albeit a redneck gun toting one, can get a million votes and still not win one seat in Federal Parliament. Not that we're whingeing, we leave that to our Pommy immigrants.
We want to make "no worries mate" our national phrase, "she'll be right mate" our national attitude and "Waltzing Matilda" our national anthem (So......what if it's about a sheep-stealing crim who commits suicide).
We love sport so much our news readers can read the death toll from a sailing race and still tell us who's winning. And we're the best in the world at all the sports that count, like cricket, netball, rugby league and union, AFL, roo shooting, two up and horse racing.
We also have the biggest rock, the tastiest pies, the blackest aborigines and the worst dressed Olympians in the known universe.
Only in Australia can a pizza delivery get to your house faster than an ambulance. Only in Australia do we have bank doors wide open, no security guards or cameras but chain the pens to the desk....
Stand proud Aussies.
We shoot, we root, we vote.
We are girt by sea and pissed by lunchtime. Even though we might seem a racist, closed minded, sports obsessed little people, at least we feel better for it.
You are, I am, we are Australian

Be warned in Sydney - very confusing place. When I went up there for Sound Relief there were NO SIGNS ANYWHERE. Hardly any street signs, got very fustrating trying to get somewhere (we lucked out on getting to Acer Arena on the eve of the 14th, a friendly taxi driver behind us at the petrol station kindly gave us simple and easy directions to get us there, helped us heaps).

I don't think you can get them actually, you can only really get posters of the more punk/whatever bands etc. They were selling them on tour but you can probably order them online. I got my purple X&Y shirt online very early 2008 because I am odd like that

I got a massive poster at the Easter Show today!!!! :D *jumps around like a crazy obsessed fan* well I suppose I am. I had to carry it around all day, I was practically hugging it the whole time :P. Its a reasonably early photo of them, but its great. And they had an awesome Coldplay T shirt that i haven't seen before but it was too small so i'm gonna try and get it in a medium. There were all these Coldplay things jumping out at me today, like Charles Moses Stadium, and then when we were trying to get seats to the car and motorbike show thingo, dad goes 'getting seats is always the hardest part' and I started laughing. Anyways, when I go to Sanity next I'll have a look their for the shirts, thanks Cobalt.
BAM_87
20-04-2009, 09:52 AM
I had a look at Sanity and some other stores and couldn't find any t-shirts, so I had a look on the net. All the ones on the internet cost more than the price of the shirt in postage and handling. Anyone know any Australian sites that sell Coldplay shirts, or cheap international sites?

HOLY CRAP I LOVE BUDGIES.
My uncle has one named Bulls-eye and it's so adorable. It sits on my shoulder and nibbles at my hair. Gah.
Only 3 more days of holidays for me. ;_;
People in NSW, excited about the laptops we're getting?!

My sister came up with Boris really, I named the girl Lyla (although she's the selfish one and screeches when she gets angry).

LOL Bulls-eye! Aw. Mine aren't that tame so they don't really sit on your shoulder or anything - Boris will if you're still and he doesn't get distracted by wanting to be with Lyla or in another room, Lyla is anti-humans.
Also, the broken laptop promise isn't anything new, Victorian high school students were all promised to get some a while ago and we haz none.

Lol... Lyla? Like the Oasis song? I know its not, but your description "selfish and angry" sounds exactly like Liam Gallagher....
We had a blue budgie like that once, called sammy. Had him for 7 years, bless his soul

Don't like being back at school  got 2 assignments toay, and another one due next week. And maths test :(
As to the laptops, our school isn't even on the list to get them, so no-one in our school will get them before end of term, maybe later, as far as I know.

It is like the Oasis song, indeed.
Except I didn't expect her to turn out selfish, angry, also GREEDY for food and destructive to our walls! She isn't all bad though, she's endearingly timid.
