I'd like to hear about your band, or other local bands from your area. What kind of music to they make (links please) and how did you get to know them/their music?

Example:
Fled, a small band from Utrecht, rock.

they're getting big now- in the top 20 of this australian music tv show.
They're called True Live.
I went to see a band i liked at a free festival and they played before them. They just blew me away. They have a string section (violin, cello, double bass) and they sing hip hop/jazz!
check them out :) http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34016&highlight=TRUE+LIVE

also i'm going to see this band soon - form of audio- i really like the second song (such a beautiful voice!)

KISS tribute bands get a little testy

http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2006/Apr-16-Sun-2006/photos/bands1.jpg (http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2006/Apr-16-Sun-2006/photos/bands.jpg)

The heavy metal band KISS has spawned a small army of tribute bands.
A battle of bantam-sized KISS tribute bands has turned into an international verbal smackdown.
Mini-KISS, an all-dwarf band out of New York, has filed a cease-and-desist order against Las Vegas-based Tiny KISS over who owns the tribute band concept.
If that's the case, it's been a colossal coup. The story made headlines in New York and the Los Angeles Times and has been mentioned on the British Broadcasting Co. and national TV, including a Tiny KISS appearance Wednesday on MSNBC.
Fatale, in his cease-and-desist warning, said he owns the rights to Mini-KISS and Little KISS.
Tiny KISS has a right to exist, Beacher said, just as other satirical cover bands do.

Well, if anyone here in the States has heard of a group called Saving Jane...they got their start in my hometown of Columbus. I saw them a few times, they're quite cool (and the lead singer, Marti... is gorgeous!).

And here in Western Kentucky, there's a group called The Muckrakers, they are awesome, both musically and personally. I wish them the very best!
