Ella, well i think Radiohead and Mando Diao will come to Finland as well or to some neighbour countries ;)

Nicko84, yes Sziget is a great opportunity for some young, talented, unknown artists. i think they do this contest everywhere, not only in Italy ;)

azért remélem az a dátum, mert az egyik ismerősem már megvette a jegyeket és pont szombatra... szóval nagyon nagy szívás lenne, ha nem akkor lépnének fel :worried:

so, i'm back from Budapest/Sziget :D it was amazing, though if the crowd wasn't pushing during Radiohead's set it could be even more amazing lmao :wacky:

i've seen 4 bands that day (Saturday, 12th), some short reviews lol :

Sons and Daugthers: a very interesting band with the female singer. i liked them, although they were the "weakest" of those 4 i've seen that evening, but still a good, full of energy performance

dEUS: WOW! one of the best non-UK bands in Europe. dEUS was made for festivals. the lead singer Tom Barman is a real showman: he sings, dances, jumps etc. (once he fall down during one of his jumps lol haha). great band! you should check them out!!!

Heaven Street Seven: a hungarian, alternative rock-britpop band with meaningful lyrics. they are like the only hungarian artist that i really liked during 6 years that i was living in Budapest. great great band, although live they are not as good as in studio (the 2nd part of their set was a bit boring). not comparable to dEUS or Radiohead

Radiohead: a band because of which i went to Budapest this year and missed 2 days of the school too. Thom's voice was great (i was a bit afraid, because during the US tour his voice was creepy sometimes, but now it's as good as 3-4 years ago during the HTTT (pre-)tour), Colin's pink-yellow a bit "slinky" t-shirt at the beginning was awesome , Ed was rocking during songs like Just, 2+2=5 or Paranoid Android :cool3:, Jonny was Jonny like always: modest and humble, but at the same time perfect for this evening (i couldn't stop control myself and shouted "Jonny Greenwood!!!!!" after Paranoid Android  - consequence: i lost my voice after the concert lol), Phil's drumming was rhythmic and dynamic :nice:
Radiohead played "their greatest hits" mixed with some live favourites like The Gloaming or Bones
best evening of my life!

i was dancing, singing, drinking and etc :nice: Radiohead is da best  especially live!

only if everyone was a RH fan there. some people were standing and listening without singing. some of them weren't even dancing during Idioteque, 15 Step and The Gloaming

by the way during the The National Anthem some security guys helped me to sneak out of that "crazy" sector :o... though my great places in the middle 7th-8th row were lost and i watched the rest of the gig from the left side of the 1st-2nd row (i didn't see Colin and Phil during the most of songs  )

Let's go all togrther next time :idea2:

By the way, Nik, how much did you pay for the ticket?

6,000 Hungarian Forint = 21.91116 Euro

and there were many russians by the way i've even seen a russian flag :o

Gitta Rensolo

Haha Russians rule the world

And I actually thought it's more expensive, huh.

Ondes Martenot
16-08-2006, 03:55 PM
^ @ Jules why don't you come then, let's say next year? :P
it's a great festival and people are happy and very friendly after some liters of alcohol :wacky: so it's worth to go there for a week.

a non-camping weekly ticket was less than 100 Euros this year
a camping weekly ticket was around 110-115 Euros. i think it's not that expensive

Gitta Rensolo
16-08-2006, 03:58 PM
Next year?
that's a good year....I've finished school then...and maybe enough time....haha....:D

a time when i will be independent....hehe...

maybe I'm lucky and they'll come to Rock am Ring next year...that's only 15 km away from me...:nice:

Lera
16-08-2006, 03:58 PM
We should make a Coldplaying invasion next year, though we need to get really drunk for that.

By the way, my school is over next year too so why not.

Gitta Rensolo
16-08-2006, 04:04 PM
Why do we have to get drunk for that?

Lera
16-08-2006, 04:06 PM
Because... I don't know, I suppose all people are drunk on such festivals :uhoh:

Ok, you can be sober and I'll be drunk :crown:

Gitta Rensolo
16-08-2006, 04:08 PM
Oh...yeah now i get what you mean...noo if you are drunk I also want to be drunk:...:P

Lera
16-08-2006, 04:09 PM
If we really do that Nik will have to go to the festival with two drunk girls :whip:

I think he'll be scared.

Ondes Martenot
16-08-2006, 04:11 PM
there were 50000 people on Radiohead set. what is a record during Sziget's 14 years' history. all the reviews that i read today describe Radiohead's set as "the best and the most important music event of the last 10-20 years in Hungary"

it was amazing, really. can't describe it. 2 hours seemed 2 minutes for me. i've seen Radiohead, so now i can die and rest in peace. and i'm serious. there's really not too many things which could be better than a Radiohead gig. i'm glad that i was a part of that "moment in history"

Gitta Rensolo

oooh..lucky you Nik....being a prt in Radiohead music history...this must be cool...
this pic is great...did you take it?
