What do you think about turkeys?
Do you think they're strange-looking birds?
Do you eat turkey?
Is turkey eaten in your country?
Is the turkey sacred in your country?
Do you prefer it to chicken?
Please feel free to discuss anything about turkeys, or post any interesting pictures of them here......................

Please note that this thread has nothing whatsoever to do with the country of Turkey. Thank you.:)

I met a turkey once. I was living down in New England at the time. A wild one ran onto the front lawn and started gobbling and running around in circles and bobbing its head up and down at about 5 in the morning. I have seen few things that annoying or stupid in my life.

Needless to say, I've never had a problem eating turkey ever since.

I don't know... it might have been. It happened in the mid-spring. All I know was that it was 5 in the morning and the stupid thing was really loud. The obvious doesn't usually occur to you at the hour.

:P Wolves more like it... :dozey:

ETA: I looked it up, and couldn't find anything about wild turkeys living in Nova Scotia, but that kind of makes sense since the terrain is so different. Down in the states they live in the big hardwood forrests. Up here, it's mainly softwood like pines, so different veggitation to eat.

Turkeys live in my backyard, they come and eat the bird seeds that fall from the feeders on my porch. Then they shit all over my lawn and my dog runs out and tries to kill them. And they try to kill my dog. Which would be easy, because my dogs probably the size of a turkey beak.

I dont think this is enough though, we need a forum to discuss such a topic.

It branches out to so many levels.

While the vast majority or your threads are self-centred.;)

Plus you must be extremely bored if you have nothing better to do than go around counting "posts".

Yeah, I bet you chuckled "Self centred git" when you say that topic title above, but you'll see it had nothing to do with me but seeing how other people feel about this topic at the time. I went into how much it hurt me, as an example for others to follow in responding. Kinda like a gauge-ing response.

And as for my threads like 'Awkward' or 'I think I've found a girl...', those are seeking help and guidance in my real life which lots of people have made in the past, if you cant respect that, fuck off.

He must be very poor if he did that....I don't think he would put any effort in creating a thread only to get attention.....
if I want to get attention I make a thread with a dumb smiley in the first post....that's it!
And I wouldn't "waste" my time to write very long posts..if I searched for attention..no....

I think that's pretty self centered.

This thread isn't self centered. Asking a question and relating that general question into your own life (while GASP using first person!) isn't self centered. It's thoughtful and reflective.

hm, well it just sounds like you're calling it stupid. not really saying you enjoy it but maybe you're thankful that stupid threads are out there. I don't see why you say that. If you want to talk about what's stupid or ridiculous that's exactly what a funny statement is. "laughter is madness" and I don't see people's threads as self centered. I see people as self centered when they won't talk to someone else. I don't see the point in making fun of threads.

That's fair comment and a good point. I've said all along that it's all about opinions.
Some people will like this thread, and others won't, but what Reilly did was unnecessarily confrontational (it appears to be part of his make-up).
I personally find most of Reilly's threads a waste of time and therefore won't waste my time on them.
There's a difference between that and just going and slagging off a thread because you don't like it.
Either contribute (without slagging off the thread itself) or leave it be.
End of story.
This thread was going along quite nicely until "Pingu" came along.
