Hello! hope everyone is good. My computer is being fixed so I cant get on here much!!! anyway, really pleased for the fans in South America, hooww good is that?!!?!
and yeah, met Lars in Oxford Street in Friday, really cool! Then we went and met Steph in Camden, went to a good ol' pub heh.
See ya's when my computer gets fixed!! haha.:)

Sorry your puter died Kara, hope it gets well soon.

I'm back in good old Germany! :D
Thanks so much Kara and Steph! It was very nice to meet you both. It's always exciting to see people you only knew from the internet before. I had a brilliant time in London and the weather was absolutely incredible, except Friday when we met. It was definitely not the last time I've been to London. ;)

Oh Lars, you're already back? How surprsing! haha ^^
But welcome back in good ole Germany, nonetheless :cheesy:
Larry
04-12-2006, 05:05 PM
Hey reg, yeah thanks Felix!
God, my flight back to Bremen was so annoying! You had to wait at least one hour at the airport, because the controls in UK are more serious than in Germany. But some people didn't know it (although it was written on the ticket!!!), so the pilot had to wait 45 minutes for 25 people who didn't enter the plane in the destined time. Later they were even angry, because they didn't get a good seat and had special requests! :veryangry2:
Well, did YOU have a nice weekend together with Sarah?
winnie
04-12-2006, 05:14 PM
It was ryanair you got to london with, wasn't it?
I wonder how it's going to be when we go to Ireland with ryanair
Well yeah, I had a very nice one! We visited the christmas fairs of Einbeck and Göttingen - was very cool :)
Larry
04-12-2006, 05:25 PM
No, it was Easyjet. Luckily next year Ryanair will build up a new line from Bremen to London. :nice: So, I can choose the cheaper one next time. ;) You chose Ryanair for your journey with Sarah to Dublin in February?
Hehe, well a Christmas market was one thing I missed in London, definitely. :) I'm going to Bremen's Christmas market in a few days together with some friends.
winnie
04-12-2006, 05:35 PM
Yeah - Ryanair's the only airline in Lübeck ;D But all in all it costs 120 for Sarah and me :D that's quite cheap!
Is it nice in Bremen? I like the one in Hamburg very much - it's huge! :stunned:
Larry
04-12-2006, 05:42 PM
I have to fly from Lübeck as well, if I would like to fly to Dublin. ;) It's the nearest one.
That's really cheap... I paid ca. 60 Euro (with travel insurance) for both flights, but only because I ordered them 2 months ago.
Yeah, I like the one in Bremen. Here's a picture...
http://www.bremer-weihnachtsmarkt.de/galery/2006/5.jpg
I've never been to Hamburg's Christmas market, but one of the best one I've ever seen was in Braunschweig. :)
winnie
04-12-2006, 05:48 PM
that one looks kinda exactly the same like the one in Hamburg! hehe... pretty ordinary, isn't it? ^^
Braunschweig... hmm... never heard of it - what was so special about it?
I'm gonna visit the one in Goslar next weekend with Sarah and her parents - I've no idea, how that one is like! *g*
*Sarah*
04-12-2006, 06:02 PM
I can't imagine goslar to be really special when you've seen hamburg or bremen for example. but I believe for my parents it's gonna be special anyway, since they hardly know any other ones than in our kaff lol ^^

So where are the photos??
Larry
04-12-2006, 06:05 PM
Oh, so you discover more and more cities in Germany... :nice: Hannover, Einbeck, Göttingen, Goslar... :D
That one in Braunschweig is very big and it looked a bit better than the one in Bremen.
I really like the atmosphere in these markets. It's really a special thing. The only thing I need now is a cold temperature but I just saw the weather forecast and it looked fine. ;)
Mark, I took a lot of pictures but I haven't got the USB cable yet. My father is still in Hannover and he needs it there.

Well there are no such problems with RyanAir, because they wouldn't wait for anybody, and there are no reserved seats!!
When I flew back from Stansted last week I had no delays at all, either through security or with the flight itself. In fact, it landed EARLY!!:smug:
winnie
04-12-2006, 06:12 PM
@Sarah: I don't know - smaller markets can be even nicer than the big ones :)
@Lars: hm... I don't like it, when the atmosphere gets too rude and drunk there... that's not christmassy anymore ;D (christmessy maybe  ), I particularly see that in Hamburg... for example last sunday I had to share my carriage from hamburg to lübeck with about 30 pretty drunk retirees... :dozey: Those lads can get quite annyoing when they had too much punch ;D
Larry
04-12-2006, 06:29 PM
I don't know why UK and Ireland are not part of the Schengener agreement. You always have to show your identity card at airports. It's a bit annoying...
But I like travelling with Easyjet. I never had any problems with them and it wasn't their fault that the flight back to Bremen was delayed.
Ok, in that case you're right Felix! But sometimes is also great to meet new people on these markets. I remember last December when Werder Bremen played against Panathinaikos Athens we met some Greek guys before the game and it was very funny. :D

I also have a project for next Thursday that Im really anxious about.
Larry
10-12-2006, 06:17 PM
Oh what have you done in London? Did you buy something for Christmas?
What is your project about? Do you have to talk about it in front of your course again?
Lol questions over questions I just noticed... :D
Well, my weekend was ok. On Friday I first had a poker evening with my friends and later we went to a club which was good, although the music was totally rubbish!
Yesterday I didn't do anything special. I was a bit exhausted about the week before. But the weather was great the whole weekend, so today I did a tour with my bicycle. I drove more than 25 km. :)

10-12-2006, 06:26 PM
Wednesday I visited London to meet one of my best friends Kaz, who has been at uni in Portsmouth....it was so good to meet her, and cool to meet 2 of her new friends....
On Thursday I went to London again, with a small group of people from my course, we were carrying out a project brief which, if we're successful in, could get a trip to Milan.... we had to get random strangers to learn a new handshake, it was hard!! and embarrassing but fun as well.
I attempted to buy Christmas presents but didnt get any...oh dear.
My dad is always going for really long bike rides....heh. I miss my bike a bit! Is it flat or hilly where you live?

Wow, that thing with the handshake sounds funny but weird as well. How did people react? Oh, it would be so great if you could have a chance to visit Milan. It's a really nice city! :)
I will buy all presents a few days before Christmas Eve. By the way, did you get any presents on December 6th in UK? I got a lot of chocolate and a lot of euro notes. :D
Not, it isn't very hilly here, because I'm living near the North Sea. The dike is the highest "hill" here... :D On my way back to the airport I was surprised again, that London is very hilly.

Nope we didnt get any presents on the 6th...a normal day, lol! Lucky for you! :nice:

Magda, I heard more people in Prague do speak German than English. Do you learn both languages at school in the Czech Republic?
Ah, what a list! 4 gigs for next year! ;)
Hm, in Europe I would like to visit Ireland and Sweden! But I guess Iceland is very nice as well. Last June my work-mate went to Iceland with his girlfriend for 3 weeks and the pictures he took were fabulous. :)
Why do you have an urge to visit Iceland?

well, german is spread here pretty much. cause we were occupated by germans :P so everyone had to speak german.. and - at basic school you have to take either german or english, but at high school you must have 2 languages, and it's your decision whether you choose german or not ;) but a lot of people here speak german..

Yep! And my bank balance has been battered, lol. Its worth it, theyre all my favourite bands!
I dont know why I have the urge, but whenever I've been on a trans-atlantic flight, I always look at the little map on the tv screens and see Iceland. It's quite close to the UK, but noone ever talks about it...plus I had a teacher who visited and said it was good. lol!

I hate crowds in general and avoid them at all costs.
I also have no desire at all to go into town just for shopping, and therefore don't.
Generally I'll only go into a shop if I happen to be "passing", and even then won't bother to look around if the shop is full of people.
I also can't stand "cramped" shops. The more space the better, IMO.;)

nah i dont think so. i might realise them things more often but its always annoyed me. its not like i heard it for the first time. me ma's half-italian and she only spoke italian before she went to school. she was often discriminated as a kid and i heard loads of things about me nan as well (who never learnt german). so i've realised them things since i was a kid even though it never happened to me personally.

I see what you mean, 'cos even though you haven't experienced that discrimination in yourself (thanks to god or whoever), if she has lived it, then surely she has told you her experience! That's unbelievable, though... discrimination 'cos you talk a different language! I thought in Switzerland Italian was also one of its official languages!

it is but that in a different part of the country. italians and spaniards were the first group of immigrants in switzerland, therefore they were discriminated.
i think that changed now... thankfully. but other groups are targeted now.

We could have done with that snow in the French Alps!! I just got back from skiing and the conditions there were pretty bad. Enough snow for skiing, but only just, with lots of rocks, grass and bare earth showing through.
I still had a great time though, and made some new German friends, three of them from Lars' neck of the woods............................................. .
