Hello! :D

Im pretty freaked out today...you know these terror attacks that were foiled today? Well one of the men involved lived in my town, about 2miles down the road from me :wreck:

There's been helicopters and armed police everywhere.

Also poor Kara is flying to NY today...I think her flight went ok, as I haven't heard from her, but it have been quiet scary for her. :(OMG Steph. When I heard High Wycombe I thought "Hey I think that's by where Steph lives" :stunned:

As for Kara flying today, it's the best day to fly. Delays yes, but they're searching
EVERYTHING. I mean 6 months from now, will they be searching people's toothpaste?

coldplay_97

its getting stupid. why must they keep attacking planes and innocent people.

You can bring all that, just not in your carry-on stuff. OK so the US gov "foiled a simular plot" in 1995 so why the fuck have people been able to bring liquids on planes for the last 11 fucking years. I mean is it so tough to just pack it in your claimed bags? Did they want to wait until a whole plane full of people got killed before they "inconvienced" people. ****s! :veryangry:

Well if this continues, the airlines will have to start offering free bottles of water to all passengers - then it wouldn't be necessary for anyone to take drinks on board with them.
At present the budget airlines always charge for drinks on their planes - and the prices are a pretty extortionate!

And yes - as soon as High Wycombe was mentioned, I thought of Steph. I bet we all did!

:P I'm sure you know that I meant POTC2. In Germany the fim has got another title that's why I was a bit confused. Here it's called "Fluch der Karibik 2". ;)

Yes - it's annoying and unnecessary how all the film titles get changed in Germany. It shouldn't be allowed!!
For example - calling "Bridget Jones's Diary" "Chocolate For Breakfast". How lame is that??:P

Ah a bit German... :nice:

I'm ok... but I got a cold today... in summer!!! :dozey: It's so cold here. I feel like we already have autumn and I hate it.

Whereas I LOVE it!! Everything feels normal again!! The heatwave was terrible.;)

yeah, me too.
it's just the typical german weather in my opinion...
the sky is grey and it's pretty cold.

but winter is even better... i love the fact that it's dark all day... haha

and yes, the german titles of movies are ALWAYS very stupid...

Saiqa I know how you feel. I find it so frustrating. So many people I worked with today didn't seem bothered by it....I don't understand how you can sit and watch this awful stuff on the TV and not feel any emotion.

Peace will never come. I don't believe it will anyway, which is pretty sad. :\

But I myself know that I am living a peaceful life...and I refuse to live in fear of these evil people. All I know is that's the best that I indivudually can do.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm not suggesting I love winter, but I'll take that every time over what we experienced last month, as it was just awful.
I have no problem with sunny days in the mid-20s, but unfortunately there's no way to stop the temperature rising above that!!
All I know is that at the moment I feel comfortable, which wasn't the case in July.

And putting German voices on the films is extremely stupid!!;)

Also i've heard from Kara today and she got to NY fine. Luckily her flight wasn't cancelled.

How is everyone? Hey Mark :)

I think it's better... I hate it on Dutch television where you can only hear the English voices and see the Dutch subtitles. Ok, this is another good way to learn English, but I can't imagine to watch f.e. POTC2 with subtitles. I will watch it in German! Some German voices are sometimes better than the original. Especially at the Simpsons... God, the English voice of Marge is horrible! :P

A lot of German TV stations (for example "Premiere") are showing films in German and English, so you can switch between both languages. It's also at Champions League matches or at international football coverages.

Ah Steph! :) Thanks for the information about Kara! I'm so happy that her flight wasn't cancelled.

Yeah that's true, but shows like "Pimp my whatever" etc. on MTV are only with subtitles. I think it's ok there...

Ahhh, today the Bundesliga will start in a new season! Can't wait...

This time it's so great... Today, you can watch Bayern-Dortmund on ARD (Free-TV) and tomorrow all 6 games will be simulcasted Free-To-Air on Sat.1. It's a present for all German fans, because we were so fantastic during World Cup. :) So you can watch 7 of 9 games without Pay-TV. I also like the fact that there are Friday night games again. ;) I'm exicited about the new Arena channel. They studio is the best sport studio I've ever seen and I really like the new Bundesliga design.

But Grace, you don't like Eintracht Frankfurt, or? :P

and no, i'm not fan of eintracht.
but in my class is a freakin eintracht MANIAC. he's always walking around with his scarf and his jersey and he also has a season ticket. :D
haha.. i remember him writing SGE on his school desk in HUGE letters (yeah, you could barely see the rest of the desk!) with an edding.
our teacher freaked out. :)

It's so cheap regarding the price of Premiere last year (35€). Now, Premiere only show the English Premier League, games of the Scottish, French, Dutch and Austrian leagues, all Champions League games and the UEFA-Cup for 10€ per month. ;)

Yeah on Wednesday we'll bet Sweden again! :D Did you hear about the new English coach? He didn't nominate Beckham and Rooney for the next match.

That's only because you don't know the voices of the actors concerned. It sounds horrible when Johnny Depp or someone like that has another voice coming out of their mouth - and the dialogue never matches the lips, either!
I admit that it doesn't matter so much with cartoons, though - but I can't stand most animated films anyway!!;)

I know a lot of original voices. ;) It's so funny when f.e. an American actor is coming to Germany. I remember Bruce Willis (who was actually born in Germany)... He was a guest in a TV show and met the man who gave him the German voice.

Beckham's been dropped (deservedly), but Rooney's only been left out because he will be banned for the next competitive matches. He'll be back after his ban.

Of course - for one thing, he's ENGLISH, and for another, he's PASSIONATE about the team.
Taking on Terry Venables as his assistant was also a good move.

In two weeks I'll be going over to London to watch Charlton play Man U, by the way (first home match of the season).:D

God what a fantastic weekend! Yesterday I drove to Bremen and my mate and I went to a uni party! It was amazing! Then this morning my mate and I were jogging through the park, because the weather was very nice and suddenly we got tickets for the Bundesliga match between Hannover and my favourite Werder Bremen so we took the train to Hannover at lunchtime. God, it was an incredible game! One of the best I've ever seen! After 1:2 we won 4:2! :)

Here, you can download the highlights if you want. ;)

Hehe, the best thing is... I have holidays! :D :) But I still don't know where I will spend some days. A few minutes ago my mum told me that I could get the car to drive to Copenhagen. Maybe I will do it, because my parents would pay the gas, so I only have to pay for a hotel.

Lol Mark, I think you can't get enough of watching football as well, or? :P

Yeah, I saw the weather forecast for the next days and they said summer is coming back next week. I hope it's true! :D

I know how you feel. When you have nothing to do during the holidays you will go back to school as soon as possible but then, 1 or 2 days later, you will have holidays again. :D

:) Yeah waking up lately is the best! I enjoy it at the moment.

Well, there is just a good reportage on TV about a district in London with a lot of immigrants. Very interesting! Didn't know before that so many Moslems are living in East London.

julimp92
14-08-2006, 09:08 PM
Well i just have this week left and them on tuesday im back ! haha .. gonna mis the late mornings thought :( .Yes they're lots of them ... u cant tell when there lots of imigrants from one country coz they start to open lots of restaurants :laugh4:

Larry
14-08-2006, 09:14 PM
:) Most of them who live in Great Britain are coming from India and Pakistan. In Germany the majority of immigrants is coming from Turkey. ;)

Where have you lived in the UK before you went to Mexico? In London?

julimp92
14-08-2006, 09:17 PM
Liverpool :D but we didt had lots of immigrants .. at least not that i remeber :laugh4: , when i was learing german i used to speak with a turckish haha accent ... eveyone lookd at me funny .. them my sister told me that germans normaly dont like Turks is it true ?

Larry
14-08-2006, 09:27 PM
Oh you learnt German? I always don't understand why so many people are learning (or had to learn) this unimportant language in school. :)

Hm, yeah a lot of Germans don't like them, because some of them don't want to learn our language and don't want to work. I think it's a social problem. But you have to be careful here about what you say... Personally I don't have a problem and I've got two Turkish friends. We were in the same football club. :)

Do you know that after Istanbul the biggest city with Turkish inhabitants is Berlin?! ;)

julimp92
14-08-2006, 09:29 PM

Larry
14-08-2006, 09:49 PM
It's going normal here, a bit boring but ok... what's going on in Austria?

Hey Angie! Would you like to change the weather? ;)

It was raining all day long, it's very windy and cold. I feel like we already have autumn. :dozey:

Ladybug
14-08-2006, 09:52 PM
Uh well..nothing, as usual. :dozey:
Thanks for asking, though. LOL

Oh man, are you serious?
Yeah, it's not as hot here now...it's been raining pretty much every day since I got home from the UK (), which was, like, a week ago...and I think it's cooled down even a week before that already. So it's ok now. Though I think they're saying it'll get warmer again 'til the end of the week...

Texasluvsjonny
14-08-2006, 09:55 PM
Lars, I can do without the rain, but cold, yes please!

Larry
14-08-2006, 09:58 PM
Yeah, summer is coming back at weekend, they said on the weather forecast! :) But I still don't know where to go during my holidays.

I wanted to fly to London but it's getting to expensive, especially after the trouble last week at Heathrow. So, I will use the car... At the moment, I can't decide between Amsterdam (Netherlands), Copenhagen (Denmark), Prague (Czech Republic) and Vienna (Austria) or I would spend some days in Germany (Cologne, Hannover, Leipzig, Sylt (North Sea)). We'll see but I will definitely not stay all my holidays at home.

Where have you been in the UK? :)

Hehe Angie! What do you say about Southampton's start in the season?

Texasluvsjonny
14-08-2006, 09:59 PM
I would vote for Prague on that list.

Larry

Yes? :o Why would you vote for Prague? Have you even been there? I only heard that's an amazing city, very historical. The best thing is that it would be the city where it isn't expensive. Czech beer is also very good!

Do I have to say Vienna now? :p

Wow that sounds interesting! Where have you all been in the UK? And how expensive was it? 300 - 400€?

I've never been in Vienna but I always hear that's a great city. But I don't think I will drive to it next week. It's too far away and the toll on Austrian's motorways is very expensive. Either I will drive by myself or together with my twin brother or a friend. It's not quite sure! ;)
