I would, but the nearest swimming pool is 10 miles away and at this time of day would be fulled up with chav kids

Hehe, it's always the same... :\ That why I prefer going to the beach than to the open-air swimming pool. But in Andover you don't have a beach I guess... :\

I'm off now! See you later! Bye!

Black Rose

Nope, nearest beach is an hour's drive away.

Although the main swimming pool in andover is undercover

We have a couple nice lakes which they allow swimming in, but even now the water is cold.

Just came back from the veterinary...

God, it was such a torture for my lovely cat! :( He had to sit in his little box for at least 30 minutes, because the woman before us was talking all the time. :veryangry: He was so afraid and got so many injections. Now he's so angry about my brother and me.

I think it's more difficult for me to go to the veterinary surgeon than for my cat. :\

And I bet you hate us for managing not to go into the Euro money-wise :D

Hehe, not really... ;)

We had so many trouble in our country after the €uro replaced our DM (Deutsche Mark) in 2002. 1 € = 1.95583 DM, so it was really easy for us Germans to convert it. But life became very expensive, especially in the catering trade. In that case I want to have my DM back, but it's great to have the same currency in a lot of European countries. :) When are you voting for or against the €uro in UK again?

I can't stand Angela Merkel! :P

Yeah, but my camera sucks so they're all just dark and shitty. My friend got some really good ones so I'm waiting for her to send me her pics:)
Hum..well, there was this girl at the front that had 'Snog me, I'm a doctor' written on her breasts so he started talking with her and then he dedicated 'Make me pure to her'. But the funniest thing was when he had spotted the hotairbaloon (the show was outdoors btw) and he started screaming at them telling them to pay to see the show and then on the count of 3 everyone shouted: fuck off. I was really roflmao :laugh3:

The Sounds were also at the Hurricane Festival one week ago but I've missed them. :( I really like "Much Too Long". It's a great song!

Btw, Mando Diao is touring through Germany in autumn. Can't wait to see them in Hamburg again!

__therese

Iris, what exactly happened in Valencia??? :shocked2: :stunned: I just saw the news on TV, it looks horrible! The tube derailed and at least 30 people died...

ops, I didn't read it before...
They said the underground derailed and 34 persons died until now :embarassed: and they think it was a fortuitous accident and but not a deliberated one. Anyway, this is really weird... 'cos as far as I know it has never happened here before. :uhoh:

Larry
03-07-2006, 09:38 PM
Yes Iris, very terrible! The pictures reminded me of the attacks in Madrid... :(

Yeah Therese, Swedish music is incredible! It began with Abba, over Roxette and Ace Of Base to The Hives, Mando Diao and The Sounds. :)

__therese
03-07-2006, 09:41 PM
Take away Ace Of Base from that list and it's pretty good. Although I don't like Abba to much either.
And btw, so is German music!

Oenona
03-07-2006, 09:45 PM
gosh! Don't worry Therese... I'm sure he is fine! Nevertheless that was a bad coincidence!

Lars: true... but the attacks in Madrid were intentionally and that was what scared me the most!

Larry
03-07-2006, 09:45 PM
You don't like Ace Of Base? I grew up listening to Roxette and Ace Of Base! :D Especially Roxette is wonderful! "Listen To Your Heart" and "Fading Like A Flower" are so sad and in the same way amazing! :( ;)

Hm, German music never had a big success in other nations, except Rammstein. I remember that Nena had a number 1 song in the US during the 80's but that's it! ;) But since 2000 German music completely changed. So many new bands (Juli, Silbermond, Wir sind Helden, Tomte, Kettcar, Madsen) were singing in German again! It wasn't cool during the 90's. :)

burningmonk
03-07-2006, 09:49 PM

__therese
03-07-2006, 09:49 PM
I think he is, his family probablly would have called otherwise. Guess I'll see on Thursday, he usually calls then.

No, I hate Ace Of Base :laugh3: It's kinda funny how everybody knows Sweden for Abba and Roxette. And yeah, 'Listen to your heart' is just beautiful :)
Yeah, I really like Silbermond (thanks to flo ;)) and Wir sind helden, and Kraftwerk off course. And Einstürzende Neubauten :)

Larry
03-07-2006, 09:58 PM
Hey burningmonk, I like your avi and your signature! :) Why are you supporting Germany? Scorpions are coming from Hannover. Their music is good and I especially like "Wind Of Change". But they've only English songs I guess. ;)

Sure, I forgot Kraftwerk who are very successful outside Germany. :) At the moment I really like Wir sind Helden, Beatsteaks, die Ärzte and Tomte.

burningmonk
03-07-2006, 10:03 PM

Larry
03-07-2006, 10:09 PM
Thanks for the words Mo! :) It's nice to hear that somebody is loving my country! That's not very often! :D

Hehe Tomte means Santa Claus??? Hm maybe it was their intention. It's an indie band, coming from Hamburg. You can listen to the new album here...

I especially adore "Ich sang die ganze Zeit von Dr", "New York", "Walter & Gail" and "Norden der Welt". :nice:

We had a thunderstorm last night. Knocked out the power, so my back-up batteries had to be used to safety shut down the pc to avoid damage from the sudden power lost.

Hmmm I love tons of names...

Lena, Effie, Elsa, Rachel, Candice and Isaure (the 3 last ones are part of my long names : I have 6 first names  !)

James, John, Martin (it's way cuter pronounced in French !) and Mathias

and I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot !

I'd call a boy Luka (croatian for Luke) or Krešimir.
A girl'd be Katarina (Catherine; Kate)

Wow,bibou...I have only one (middle name). One that can't be translated...Šimun. I hate it. But, what am I to do? Nothing....
