i love red hot chili peppers,but dont have any of their cd`s. iknow,im wierd! but what can i say?? i like standing in line or what ever its called. that at the moment is my fav of them.

i've only got californication which i really like, but their earlier stuff that i've heard sounds brilliant to (albums on my "to buy" list). i wasn't that keen on by the way though (i think that's the track you mean).

how many albums have they actually got? i was gonna rob my cousin's copy of bloodsugarsexmagik (is that what it's called) but i'd already pissed her off that day so thought better of it - she sometimes lets me go on holiday with her for free, so i don't want to get in her bad books. :lol:

as far as I have read they have finished their recording sessions for the new album about 2 weeks ago - now there is post production and track mastering to be done for a March 2003 release!

i love all their stuff and i really mean that! they've recorded nearly 100 songs (inc early demos etc) and i think i can name one or two songs i dont think much of and could count the number of average songs on two hands - not bad for a band who have release 5 albums!

and dont even get me started on them live - they are exceptional

as you can see i like them a little bit :shock:

i think it's so nice when you can love a band as much as that. i mean, i can't wait until i'm 80 and coldplay have (with any luck) had 50 million albums out and i can sit there still telling my grandkids how great they are. but then, i'm swear i'm gonna do my best to be a really embarrassing "cutting edge"old person - no blue rinses for me. :lol:

Hmm, no-one ever mentioned that the chili peppers were crap live. I'm unsure whether 2 buy tickets or not for when they play in march................hmm. Usually when i deliberate over buying tickets, they sell out so my minds made up for me (except coldplay...woo! oct 8th - 11 days!)

I think the chilis have had 6-7 albums (i lose count) but the 3 best (in my opinion) are:

i say go on and get the tickets because have you seen them on tv they are great. plus they have tons of songs so you cant really go wrong buy the tickets and going to the show. i mean if your a fan and have fav songs of course your going to hear them. if you like the band then go see them while you have the chance and dont pass it up. thats what i tell myself because i felt stupid passing other shows up for other bands then thinking later that i should of gone

8) red hot chili peppers are absolutely excellent. i watched a documentary about them on VH1 this week and its amazing that after all they've been thru they can still come bouncing back with such excellent music!! :multi:

ive seen them live and that thing they do with the "take off ur shirt and wave it around ur head" it sooooooooooooooo much fun :mrgreen:

their californication album is one of my all time faves :321:

YEAAAAH!! they are excellent, I saw them three times, and I love them. Last year, they were the only band who had enough guts to come to my country when things were really difficult politically and economically and I will always be grateful for that... :)
But I think that after AAAAAAAALLL these years, they still don't know how to end a show... they just leave you there waiting for more... but they are actually gone... they don't even say goodbye... but I don't care, I love them anyway *hearts flowing all around the room and my eyes like this: x_x*

And, they are clean off drugs now, ever since Hilel overdossed and Irons quit the band cause of it. Well, John was killing himself with drugs :P If you ever see them live, and look at John's arms, you can see all the skin grafting from his operatings.

Oh, and the Chili's paid somethin like... 70 grand to fix his teeth aswell hehe.

One thing I don't ike about them is that they changed their style so much....if you compare Blood Sugar sex magic with By the way they are totally different....this is a pity because I think there are not many (famous) bands who make songs in the "Blood sugar sex magic" style!

Any other Chili Peppers fans here? I've always liked them, but I've been a really big fan since "Scar Tissue." Their last two albums have been great and I can't wait for the next one. Luckily, the wait won't be long. Their new album will be called Stadium Arcadium and will be out in late Spring/early Summer. We could have a new single as soon as next month!

Me too CaptainOats, I bought Californication when it came out and played it to death, i think its one of the best albums ever made, just incredible. So varied. Still love it as much as when i first bought it. And Scar Tissue is one of my fave songs of all time!
Cant wait for the new album, and im DEFINATELY getting tickets to see them in Reading!!! :)

Those are all my faves that you both mentioned! :) And By the Way too, great song. I love that album, but i much prefer Californication, i play it more often for some reason.
My other faves on Californication are Parallel Universe, Otherside, Californication and Road Trippin, Easily (what a tune!). Get on Top makes me laugh. :lol:
I also love a few old ones like Give it Away and Under the Bridge, classics.

I love all those songs everyone mentioned. "Parallel Universe" is awesome too... my Rock station here played it in high rotation even though it was never a single.

As far as their older songs go, my favorites are probably "Under The Birdge," "Soul To Squeeze," and "My Friends." I like so many more though!

How do you guys like the name Stadium Arcadium for their new album? I like it a lot. It reminds me a lot of Californication, you know, a play on words. :D

I was crazy for the Peppers...
Until I got to know the tour dates in Germany - only 3 gigs in 2 cities. They are all in the north of Germany, I'm living in the South and it's difficult to get there for me. I don't feel like fighting to get to Berlin anymore either. I'm really offended and not too keen on them anymore.

I can distinguish very clearly one track to the next on a Coldplay album .. But with the RHCP ... I play the album and say? " Didn't I just listen to this song?!" When in reality, I had gone from one track to the next one!

I listen to them alot, in fact. Many of my friends like em alot, and when with them, at times I catch an album or two.

And I completly understand that each band has it's own style. And it is a reaoccuring thing from album to album that their style shows through. But I truly dislike that one song to the next, i hear too close a resemblence for every song.

(everyone has their own opinion, you know...maybe your love of RHCP is blinding )

But I was listening to the album By the Way and I thought the songs all sounded different from one to the next haha, I just don't see how they all sound the same. RHCP has always been one of those bands where although i'm not their biggest fan, i've always really liked some of their songs. Anwyay, i was at work today (yes, some of us do work on bank holidays) and i had Radio 1 on all day only to discover it was RHCP Day! I really enjpyed listening to all the different Chilis tracks they played and i LOVE the new single Dani California, it's wicked, and the guitaring at the end is awesome! :D

I was listening to it today too! I finished work early today, and on my way home in the car I had Radio1 on and it was fab! Played a few old ones and everything! Did you hear Scar Tissue live? Wow, it was incredible! :cool:

If anyone on this board is already a fan of the chili peppers, you are going to love this new double album. And if you aren't really a fan, or haven't heard their music before, now would be a good time to start listening.

Stadium Arcadium is fantastic, and its being released on May 9th in America, May 8th in UK. There will be a leak on VH1 tomorrow. But, as is the case with all albums of the day, it has already leaked. Look for the torrent, and grab it while its still up.
The album is the band's first in 4 years, and its actually a double album. One of the discs is called Mars, and the other Jupiter.

Audio quality is pretty good. 128 i believe.
