But the rest of the songs are..... not good. I guess being part of Queens Of The Stoneage for awhile sort of rubbed off on Dave Grohl, in a bad way!

A320 is another excellent song by Foos.
It's on the Godzilla soundtrack, what the hell it's doing there, considering it wasn't featured once in the movie, and it has nothing to do with Godzilla, I don't know.

Whoever said Dave Grohl was a better drummer than frontman is a foo', the guys a great frontman and as a drummer, was nothing special. Sure he drummed hard, but its easy to do so when you have lots of time to hit the damn things (Meaning the songs werent hard to drum to, at all).
I quite like the foo's live but Dave Grohl needs to calm down, during faster songs. I got pissed off (Seen them twice) everytime he was meant to sing a part and instead squeeled "Oh yeah!" and turned around and started jamming to himself, its not entertaining, maybe the first time but not for every song. It gets old.

this is one solid band, they make great straight forward rock n roll tunes. I actually think they will be even more appreciated after they're gone, there's only so many Dave Grohl's in a musical generation, he's one of the greats. He'll be missed when he does retire. Everlong is a beautiful song. I just saw them at the V festival here and they were outstanding. Taylor could drill a hole to china w/ his drumming! They did this amazing riffing on the bridge in Stacked Actors...i literally haven't witnessed such guitar work in a long time and ive seen a lot of bands.
my fave foos recent songs: everlong, low, times like these..but i love them all.

He's down with QATSA & Jack Black and countless others, he's loved across the musical spectrum, he's so in demand it's crazy, i don't know how he finds the time! :) Plus I love him because he makes me laugh, he's a comedian at heart really, his vids are genius! esp Low!!

i think he is a genius, underapreciated even...future gens will hail to the Grohl no doubt ;) His lyrics are deceptively simple, they appear straight forward but there's more bubbling beneath their surface. I can't give him enough credit really, few rock musicians going right now can say they've accomplished so much in the industry and are so loved by their fans. He's managed to be fairly mainstream yet do what he wants to do, most musicians would kill to be where he's at.

i agree and to be a part of such good rock bands that will go down i history such as Nirvana and the foos. and he has written lkyrics that not only influence rock bands but a wide range of music. his vocals are awsome as well and not only can he really jam on a gutiar hes a really good drummer too. Dave is one of my favorite singers of all time.

I agree, I`m not a Foo fan, so I`m coming from the direction of a normal Joe puplic, and I love it, didn`t like their stuff from the last album as it was a bit too shouty loud for me (we`ll the singles were anyway), but this time, if you don`t like the elecytric stuff, you`ve got the acoustic disc, which is great, haven`t listened to the other disc yet so I can`t comment on that.

Listened to the whole album from AOL a month ago... ^^^ Just lovely (Disc 2), not one track to skip... mmmm :D

I also love Best of You! Such a cool song...Haven't listened to any of the other songs on the new album yet, but I liked most of the songs on the last album...I mean let's face it, you cannot like each and every one of the songs a band brings out. But I'm still a Foo Fighters fan! :D

The electric cd has some great tunes on it
The acoutic cd is kinda wanting imho
I think they should have stuck to what they were best at and made a bigger electric albums with a coupld of acoutstic tracks to end with ;)

The album is really god, but I like the first part more, not the acoustic part. To new for, except "Razor"... "DOA" is the best song ive heard so far.

Yeah i dont listen to disc 2 at all...DOA is a fucking brill tune, one of my favs...but i do love Best of you and Hell...just make you see why foos are incredible.
Also quite like The last song, Free me and Resolve...these are my favs at the mo, but the rest of the album is great. ;)
Youve just gotta adore Dave Grohl...the king of drums and rock!!!

The problem with foofighters is that their rock sound is too predictable. Once you here in your honour you have basically heard all the rock songs they have.

The show was freaking awesome. I was there primarily to see Foos but I knew about 3/4 of the Weezer songs played at the show so I enjoyed it and sang along as much as I could. Hot Hot Heat sounded awful because they had the amps and mics turned up way too loud for an arena show during their performance, you could hardly hear the guy sing. Weezer was really energetic, more than I expected. Rivers can sure rock for being such a nerdy looking guy, haha. When the Foos came on the place went crazy. Dave had a lot of stories to tell, mostly about when he used to live in Seattle. Before they did Up In Arms, he said there's something about Seattle that makes him miss it every time he leaves, which was nice to hear since the band started here. They mashed up on Stacked Actors for like 15 minutes, if you could have heard what I heard, your jaws would drop. Dave was making sounds on the guitar I didn't think were even possible. Then Dave got on one side of the arena and had a faceoff with Chris on the other side of the arena...they were going back and forth outdoing each other. Dave played drums when Taylor sang Cold Day In The Sun. The highlight of the night was when Dave was talking about how he used to buy long johns at Fred Meyer near Aurora Ave. and that Aurora is his fav song they've recorded and that transitioned into them playing Aurora as the first encore song...they rarely play that song (I heard on the Foo Fighters boards that last night was the first time they've played it in years supposedly). Dave also pointed up to my section and was like "What's it like sitting up there? Isn't it kinda weird? Was Ticket Master closed? You guys probably have the dial up connection huh?"....and it was funny to me cause I have dial up and ordered my tickets online from Ticket Master. All in all, the entire show was amazing. Dave screamed his balls off, but mellowed it out during Everlong when he did a solo before the band joined in for the final chorus.

Oh yeah, btw...I had class in Seattle that day from noon until 3:30, got home at 4, drove back to Seattle at 5:30...I got home from the show at 12:30 AM, crammed for a midterm until 2 AM, got up at 8 AM and took the test at 10 AM....and completely kicked the test's ass. That's called "music fan time management". :D

I'm a HUGE foo fighters fan!! They're my second favorite band right after Coldplay!! They're amazing, they have this completly unique style!! Dave Grohl is amazing, I've been a fan of his since ages!! One of the main reason I even listen to Nirvana is because of his drumming. I've collected all their albums, they're definatly a great band!

i saw them in toronto in august this year.......incredible!!!!! that was a few weeks after i saw coldplay in montreal.....man, this summer was amazing!!! the foos best song, in my opinion, is february stars......how was the concert btw?

I really like the Foo Fighters, but wouldnt call myself a big fan or anything.
My fave songs of theirs are 'Learn to Fly', 'Break Out', 'All my Life', and 'The Best of You', i dont know many others, but i'd love to get more of their stuff.
And nothing beats the 'Learn to Fly' video...it still has me rolling on the floor after all these years! :lol: Great band, and Dave Grohl is a LEGEND.

Foo Fighters are one of my favourite bands. I saw them four ago. It was one of the best concerts i've been to. I really like their videos. They are always so funny, especially Learn To Fly and Big Me.

The Foo Fighters are probably one of my all time favorite bands. They have made some amazing songs like Aurora, A320, Exhausted, My Hero, Stacked Actors, Razor, Friend Of a Friend. If you really like their self titled debut try to download daves Pocke****ch Demo. It's very similar to the foos first one especially becasue dave recorded it by himself just like he did with the debut album. And a lilttle history lesson, dave took the song Friend of a Friend from the pocke****ch demo and rerecorded it for In Your Honor.

The (early) Foo's Rock! been a fan since I got a freebie cassette off a mag promoting the 1st album "Foo Fighters" - The last album sucks! I was gutted when I heard it...

Oh and "Friend Of A Friend" recorded for the BBC Radio a few years ago and given away free on a UK mag cover cassette is better than both the "Pocket Watch" and "I.Y.H." versions.
They made up for lost time with the DVD of 5 concerts (OK 2 are concert clips, 1 is audio only and the other Bonus Hidden concert)

The should do what the Smashing Pumpkins did on some later tours, do an Acoustic set to warm up the crowd before they kick arse!
