Just been listening to their new single 'st Petersburg' sounds good.

Love supergrass they've got a great back catalogue of music.

I like their songs 'Moving', 'Caught By The Fuzz', 'Grace', 'Rush Hour Soul'

They were mega at crystal palace on 27th june :D

Their new album 'Road to rouen' is out on the 15th August, can't wait!

when i saw them supporting coldplay at Crystal Palace, there were loads of people around me, asking who they were. It was a total crime...i couldn't believe they didn't know who they were. Supergrass are totally excellent, i have the new album...it's taking a few listens, but the first track is excellent

I like Supergrass and they are one of my favourite bands. It's a shame that they are underrated. The new single's good but not as good as their past songs.

Has anybody heard the new album?
I't getting mixed reviews. NME gave it 7/10 while Channel 4 gave it 3/10. Zane Lowe says that it is a really strong album.

yeah i've heard the new album. I think its really good. I like the single 'st petersburg' too

the only problem with it is that there are only 9 songs on it, but they're 9 quality songs! :)

what a great great band! really got back into this band after seeing them at the coldplay crystal palace show on 27th june. bought the best of album yesterday, its brilliant.

Supergrass is working on a new album

Britpop legends Supergrass have been lined up to play a special one-off show in their home town.

The band, fresh from playing at Guilfest last weekend, will perform at Carling Academy Oxford on September 23rd.

The new venue in Oxford is not yet open, but the event organisers are happy to have secured the services of Supergrass for its opening week.

Alan Day, from TCT Music, said: "As it's the opening week of Carling Academy Oxford, we thought it was only right to invite one of Oxford's biggest bands to play.

"Last time we did a hometown show with Supergrass, it sold out in 24 hours, so we're delighted to announce another one."

Supergrass will be bringing their classic hits such as Caught By the Fuzz, Moving, Alright and Pumping on Your Stereo to the new venue as well as their new material.

The band are currently in the middle of recording their new album which has seen them take a break from the live scene and only make occasional appearances.

In recent years they have toured with Coldplay, played for Comic Relief and promoted their last studio album Road to Rouen.

The group formed in 1994 and have had massive commercial success.

Supergrass have cancelled their 'homecoming' gig at Oxford's Carling Academy due to an injury.

Bassist Mick Quinn suffered an accident which left him with a broken back, forcing the cancellation of the gig on September 23.

Quinn sleepwalked out of a first floor window of the villa he was staying at in the South of France.

He was rushed to a specialist spinal unit in Toulouse where surgeons operated to repair two broken vertebrae, and are also treating a smashed heel.

He is expected to make a full recovery.

Frontman Gaz Coombes said: "We hope the crazy fool gets back on his feet as soon as possible. I'm sure he'll make a full recovery; he's a tough cookie."

The Oxford show will be rescheduled, although there is no date set. Ticket holders can apply to the vendor for a refund and will be given first refusal on tickets for the rescheduled show.

I got the best news today that Ive got in a long time. As I never win anything, I figured why not try to win free tix to a private show with Supergrass. And I got a phone call about an hour ago from the woman at the radio station saying I won tix to see Supergrass for me and a guest. There will be 50 of us in total and we'll be seeing a private set with Gaz, Rob, Danny and Mick. Woohoo!!!!

I cant wait, especially because a few hours later Ill be seeing them perform again at the same venue. Oh how I love 101.9 RXP and they even played Coldplay this morning. There is a God and Matt Pinfield is his name!

If Gaz signs my "Sun Hits the Sky" single I will be most happy!
