Only my opinion of course, but I remember first hearing Yellow however many years ago and getting goose bumps because of 1. what a lovely song it was and 2. Chris' voice just makes me go all funny and weak at the knees  It has always been the same for me but I think his voice has just got better and stronger over the years :D Anyway, enough of my waffling.................

it is amazing - i think it sounds fantastic on the stuff he did with faultline. let's just hope he doesn't lose it again while they're touring - especially not before they come to manchester.

talking of manchester - last time i went there (shopping) there was a man dancing round with no trousers on but i seemed to be the only one who noticed - is this a regular occurence round those parts? it sort of put me off my marks and spencer's chicken tikka sandwich anyway

... he's the very best right behind Mr T Yorke as far as im concerned - id say on "quiet" songs he surpasses Thom but doesnt quite do him on range when the volume cranks up

It was Ian guys... :D See, sometimes I'll be listening to Thom, then Chris, then I'm like...fuck, I gotta choose?! Chris will always be number one, but there are some tracks from RH that defo give Chris competition with Thom (more older stuff like "OK Computer"). Is it just me, or do both boys make other people besides me cry? It's insane.

Same with Everything's Not Lost - my fave song ever, it's so beautiful  and he puts so much into it....*sigh* my hero

As far as I'm concerned Chris has the most fascinating voice ever! Even if it breaks a bit from time to time it still sounds so passionate and tender at the same time. Every time I listen to "A Rush of Blood to the Head" and he starts singing the chorus ("Honey, all the movements...") my hearts skips a beat... I can't wait to hear him live in November... :)
yeah that happened to me a couple of times.......but its usually when i see guy...but oh yeah this is chris martins voice i'm suppose to be talking about...like i mentioned before its just the best....well i dont think i said that but thats what i ment
Katharina

Hey, don't apologize for that! It is such a good thing not everybody here is talking about how gorgeous Chris is 24/7... Guy is a sweetheart, too. It is not always about Chris! Not always...
the reason why i said i shouldnt be talking about guy is because this is not his thread......hehe i just want to be fair.....if you go by guys thread you can talk about him as much as you want....the more you read you'll find out who my fav member is.....or maybe you can just figure that out now.
Katharina
20-10-2002, 10:15 AM
I can! :D That wasn't a tough one to find out... And I can understand your choice as I said before.
yeah hehe its not hard to figure out..........well i would love to see him........seeing him in a video would be fine......they could of had the other band members walking the streets or something...or walking by chris in the video.....
Katharina
20-10-2002, 02:05 PM
If I weren't that much into Chris (I admit it! Guilty on that... ) I'd say it's a shame you can't see the other band members (Guy...) more often in the videos. Sometimes it almost feels like Coldplay is just Chris Martin. And of course that wouldn't work. As he said the band wouldn't be able to exist without all four of them. But every article and every video is always focused on Chris... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that Guy appears more often in the future!! At least you see them a bit more in the "In my Place" clip... And I have a live video (recorded from tv) of them performing at the Bizarre festival in Germany two years ago. You can see all of them there - Guy with short hair. Nice one considering almost NOBODY here knew them back then (hard to imagine now...) and they played as the opening act. Chris was joking about that a couple of times. There was only one girl in the crowd who had "Parachutes"... Unbelievable!

ooh i know what u mean. my favourite lyric (so far) in AROBTTH is when chris sings "...blame it all upon a rush of blood to the head....Honey...." ooo i get goosebumps every time his voice rises and ....oo...(sunset_scientist drifts off into dreamy chris land... )

Christ voice "ain't ?" that good. I love the band, is great and I haven't see then "LIVE" but the 1st song I download from them was In my Place (Live Sydney ) and he was ....... terrible, he couldn't get the "right" tone. Then I download the some song and it was better. I think Freddy Mercury's voice was better than Chris' I mean he's not the best singer in the world, but he's talented. I guess I "adore?" Queen because I grow up listening them, and Coldplay is a new band to me.................. anyway I love the lyrics Christ does and the atmosphere the band had, has , have , etc.... ( I'm not sure wich one you use)..... He's British acent is so lovely.................. By the way what is 24/7 or 7/24?

Hmm, OK, that is YOUR opinion! That is exactly what I love about Chris' voice - that it breaks from time to time... SO cute! 8)
As for "24/7" - that means 'all the time' - 24 hours, 7 days a week. Always... ;)

:) First of all I love Coldplay and way before I knew how the guys looked like, CP's music and Chris's voice won my heart. Now, you can not compare Mercury's voice with Martin's, I think that's out of the question and we all know who has a stronger voice ;) And yes, once in a while Chris's voice seems to crack when his live and you can see it in his facial expression. I saw him in concert and his voice was GREAT! but a few days later I saw him on Jay Lenno and he didn't do very well when he sang In My Place, his voice was too low, but everyone has their ups and downs
i think his voice got better since parachutes.

Ok a few things here to add. Im from the States and what the heck is a "knicker"? that is definetly not slang from the US. Also, dave's girl said I just hope Chris Martin doesnt "lose it" again? What are you refering too? Just curious! I love Coldplay and would have to agree his voice is very sexy. I told one of my friends that he is like a male Sade. What do you guys think? Powerful, sultry, romantic... makes you wanna fall in love...
I saw sparks...

No can't relate to the 'Sade' thing she's a pain..sorry as for our darlin-chrissy-baby-boy his voice is unique or as one of my best mate says (who is a vocal coach & loathes Mr Martin with a passion)..............................'he must have a very loose lower lip!'
That always makes me laugh so much ...aahhh but those lips!

Oh God, Sades' voice makes you wanna smash your head against something. A knicker is an underwear.
If I gave my complete explanation of my opinon on Chris' voice, I'd probably go off subject! :P
Honestly, I agree with those who believe that his voice is very soothing and unique. It's like nothing I've ever heard before. It's so melodic and even my friends say, "Woooooooow", when they hear him sing. The affect that he brings on me is amazing. This sounds silly but, it's like a high, almost...or a sort of high. One word to sum it up: AMAZING.
