well all I can tell you is that influential political figures such as Machiavelli beleived in Realpolitik, which was the beleif that you need to lead for the greater good of the country, weather morally right or wrong, or how your decisions will be received. For a great read on realpolitik: Machiavelli's THE PRINCE.

I have a book called "Look At The Stars" an unofficial but accepted biography from pre-parachutes to AROBTTH. Along with amazing pictures, and a track-by-track review of AROBTTH by Chris himself, it is very detailed. However the writer kept spelling it Politix! Really bothered me!

Ahhhh me too! And he kept spelling Will's name "Wil" with one L, it was so annoying. I mean who writes a book and then messes up on the basics?

"politik" just another word (or the way I feel Chris utilizes it) is the state of the world today... disease, famine, civil rights... etc.. politics in genral... sometimes when people get together to talk about life in general.. they say ' we sat for a few and politik' just the friendly exchange of 'the happenings'.. at least thats the way i see it. Again, Chris likes us to take away from the music what we want. He doesnt want us to try and guess what he's saying... the music he (Coldplay) makes is for us.. we should enjoy it .... while it lasts.. :embarrased:

how hard is it for a band to get out of a contract? i thought the band was contractually obligated to do two more albums

heh i've been reading machiavelli's the prince for my english class, my professor never mentioned anything about realpolitik, though it is a very cool term. all she's been doing is ripping apart machiavelli's inductive reasoning, but i guess that's part of what makes him machiavellian.

i think they are only contracted to do one more album
1= parachutes
2= AROBTTH
3=Live 2003 Album
4= X+Y

that means they're only contracted to do one more album

5= Best Of?!?!?!?!?!

Hehehe just thought i'd stir things up a bit there!

I wouldn't count Live 2003 as an album :/

kimberlina

hmmm i reckon it might do, i think when robbie williams did live at knebworth it counted towards his....i guess it just depends- was the album a bonus or was the dvd the bonus thing on live 2003 or were they a package? that might be how they get round it?

The 'bang-bang-bang-bang' is supposed to be the sound of the World Trade Center floors collapsing... :stunned:

now listen to it again :stunned:

who knows?! i reckon it might do coz they still had to do promo etc for it and they still made money out of it just like a normal album....but then most of the reviews were for the dvd not the album, so maybe it wont count...?

yes i have the look at the stars book and it really bugged me too...but its a great book

keep in mind its not an official Coldplay authorized book.. I mean there are two out there.. same title.. diff authors.. but Coldplay didnt contribute to either one...

as for the Live 2003 counting as an album, I doubt it.. i was a bonus cd.. but then again.. record companies are shady that way.. maybe Chris was right.. this is their last album.. #5 just might be the best of.. plus bsides never released??? :cry:
