Yeah, she's got a great voice. I saw Broken Social Scene live during the summer (it was a free 2 hour gig down at Harbourfront :D) but she wasn't there :(.
Oh the one on August 27th right? Yeah, I saw them very partially when they were performing on Olympic Island during the summer, but since my friend was late (god damn hangovers!), we missed most of their act, except for one song, which I don't know what it was. BSS rocks though, especially "I Slept With Bonhomme at the CBC" and "Guilty Cubicles" (yeah I'm a Feel Good Lost guy).
Anyways, the only thing I know from Leslie is "Mushaboom". A friend of mine recommended it to me, and then Snow Patrol has that song listed as their ending song for some CD compilation thing which they did. I'm liking it...too bad she's playing in Toronto tonight and I won't be seeing her. :(

She's in Montreal today. Wasn't she in Montreal last night as well??? I'm confused. She had 2 dates in Montreal...the last one being tonight. And I'm not going because I have a shitload of work to do. Shame.

A friend of mine went, and her MSN name is like "Feistyfeistfeist" and this is like two days later, so I'm guessing the concert was really good!
Hey, you're from Waterloo....do you go to university there? I'm at UW. :)

I forgot about this thread. I am sporting a feist avatar (for those that don't know), she just put out her US release of "Let it Die", so for those americans that have not heard her yet, check it out.
In Feist news, she will be back in Toronto for Canada Day for a show at the Harbourfront Centre with Apostle of Hustle, Spooky Reuben and Taima. All evidence points to this being a free show,
And yes, timeo, I am at UW.

yeah. BSS is one thing, and Feist is another. And I know 'Monarch' mostly sucked. Just two or three good ones. But if I ever ever had my wish of seeing her play live i would want to hear "The Mast" off of that album. . . I would run upstage. Even if it was just that song. Loves it. God, I love that song. And if she could just, give me a private performance of 'Mushaboom', 'Let it Die', and 'Tout Doucement' ...I would die a very happy lady.

http://assets1.pitchforkmedia.com/images/original/149545.feisttweed.jpgWhile the greatest-hits-worthy Wilco (http://www.wilcoworld.net/) song "Impossible Germany" (http://wilcoworld.net/acl/index.php) is on their last album, 2007's Sky Blue Sky (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/42878-sky-blue-sky), the record also features a lot of songs that didn't quite live up to their lofty legacy. So there's a little more pressure on the band to come through with goods on the still-untitled follow-up, due this June (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/149409-new-wilco-album-coming-in-june). To help guarantee a world-class effort, Jeff Tweedy and Co. invited Feist (http://www.listentofeist.com/) up to their Chicago studio to record vocals for a new Wilco song called "You and I", Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com/blogs/smokingsection/2009/03/wilco-update.php)'s Smoking Section (http://www.rollingstone.com/blogs/smokingsection/2009/03/wilco-update.php) blog reports. "Feist and the dudes in Wilco met at the Grammys last year, and she hit it off with everyone," Smoking Section says. "She's a Wilco fan, and the guys love her music, so they've kept in touch over the past year. Mr. Tweedy is a huge fan of duets, and wanted to work a duet into the new album. Feist was their first call. Everyone who's heard the song has been 'blown away.'"
While we wait for the Feist/Wilco collaboration to get hyped up even further, there's the new Wilco DVD, Ashes of American Flags (http://ashesofamericanmovie.com/video/trailer/) (out on Record Store Day (http://www.recordstoreday.com/), April 18), and a world tour starting March 26 to look forward to.
