and there's also a fifth album by the way, which was realesed in 1998 after Von and its basically a remix album of Von and called Von Brigði (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Von_Brig%C3%B0i).
look at the track listing:
"Syndir Guðs (Recycled by Biogen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biogen))" – 6:55
"Syndir Guðs (Recycled by múm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BAm))" – 4:52
"Leit Að Lífi (Recycled by Plasmic)" – 5:26
"Myrkur (Recycled by Ilo (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ilo_%28artist%29&action=edit))" – 5:29
"Myrkur (Recycled by Dirty–Bix)" – 5:01
"180 Sekúndur Fyrir Sólarupprás (Recycled by Curver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curver))" – 3:00
"Hún Jörð (Recycled by Hassbræður)" – 5:19
"Leit Að Lífi (Recycled by Thor)" – 5:32
"Von (Recycled by GusGus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GusGus))" – 7:24
"Leit Að Lífi (Recycled by Sigur Rós (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigur_R%C3%B3s))" – 5:02 so its only 1 Sigur Ros song... wouldnt buy it :P
i hope you will upload it

i wouldnt call it a deep end :P its Sigur Ros so its still brilliant. but just weird.. some songs are a min long or shorter i think
StarsKay
11-01-2007, 02:22 PM
really?? i didn't know that. they must be short but sweet tracks to have made it on the album then lol.
today i was driving along the motorway and instead of listening to mew, i put in takk, turned it up and honestly, it made me experience the album in a completely new way. it made me even more inspired by sigur ros, if that's possible! :stunned:

haha well if the song is Hepolandic like Gong yeah i can sing that very good. because i listened to it so much now that i can sing along perfectly but if its normal Icelandic i just say the words that sound the same without having any clue what im saying :P

11 January 2007
on the 26th of february, the band will take part in a tibet house (http://www.tibethouse.org/) fund raiser in new york. other artists performing at the event include philip glass and patti smith. sigur rós will most likely perform just one song at this event in carnegie hall. ticket information is available on the carnegie hall website (http://www.carnegiehall.org/article/box_office/events/evt_9095.html?selecteddate=02262007).
also, as a reminder, the band play on the 25th of february in miami. they will perform their music to merce cunninghams “split sides” piece as part of the “merce in miami (http://www.merceinmiami.org/)” season.

it was all about coldplay last year...if that's an excuse lol i'm trying to make myself feel better.

StarsKay
12-01-2007, 02:19 PM
ok, after much deliberation and careful thinking, i would have to say sigur ros ONLY because i have already seen coldplay lol but it's difficult, in terms of concerts, i would like sigur ros to open for coldplay, that would be ideal!...one can dream!
you put it out there so now you answer lol sigur ros or coldplay!
Redundancy
12-01-2007, 02:26 PM
its not hard for me to answer that anymore :P
Sigur Ros :nice:
i was a hardcore fan of Coldplay before by the way :P i would choose them over everything then, even was gonna fly 12 hours to see them.. but Sigur Ros changed that :P and now looks like Mew is taking 2nd place and Coldplay going back to 3rd..

news (fréttir) http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/site_images/takk/nav_leaf.gif new album in the works
13 January 2007
sigur rós have begun recording their new album and expect to finish it later this year. according to georg, it remains to be seen whether the band will be taking a totally new direction on the album. “we have finished recording a few songs but some more things need to be done. we don’t know exactly where the album is heading yet. we are really just experimenting at this stage. some of the songs we recorded are old songs which we had written a while ago, unreleased material which we never got a chance to finish. we decided it was time they were recorded.” georg says there is a possibility the album will be released this year but nothing is confirmed at this point.

so i had a short but sweet dream last night. first dream with jonsi and it was quite perfect. i usually listen to takk as i fall asleep so it was fitting that in my dream i was in a glosoli-like scenery but with a waterfall where jonsi was sitting [there was someone else there but i couldn't tell you who] and all 3 of us were listening to takk while jonsi went through each song, adding his extra vocals and explaining how he felt.
it was quite surreal as though i was watching in on someone elses dream. all i did was listen the entire way through...!
to be honest i doubt i'll be having another like that any time soon. but yes, bump!

29 January 2007
in a recent musical project called ‘musiclab’, the bbc concert orchestra teamed up with secondary students to arrange and perform contemporary songs chosen by the students. one of the songs chosen was glósóli by sigur rós, which was performed in two different versions: one version arranged and performed by students, and an orchestral version accompanied by a student choir. you can watch a video of both versions on bbc.co.uk (http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/content/articles/2006/10/17/musiclab_feature.shtml) (the student version starts at around 15:00 mins; the orchestral version starts at around 18:30 mins).

sigur rós will hold a concert in reykjavík on february 18th to protest the construction of a highway to be built next to their countryside studio in álafoss (http://sigur-ros.co.uk/images/alafoss.jpg), iceland. the highway, which has been approved by the local authorities, will cut through the pristine area of álafoss, cherished by the townspeople of mosfellsbær for its natural beauty and historical background. the highway will run alongside sigur rós’s converted swimming pool studio and numerous other artist workshops and homes. orri told morgunblaðið newspaper today: “the ministry for the environment has stated that an evaluation of environmental impact is not warranted, which is a decision we just don’t understand and have already appealed. the highway would also go through a grove of trees, which was planted by the children of the founders of álafoss wool mill built in 1896. half these trees have been already removed in the first place. it’s such a remarkable place and played a huge role in the establishment of the town of mosfellsbær.” the concert will be held at verið in héðinshúsið (seljavegur, reykjavík) and tickets will be available soon on midi.is (http://www.midi.is/). all proceeds will be used to appeal the proposed highway, and to encourage the city counsel to divert the highway through a less destructive route.

photostream by sigur rós
5 February 2007
in late september of last year the members of sigur rós travelled to swaziland to visit HIV-positive orphans. the band members all brought their cameras along and took photos everywhere they went. we have now put the photos together into this swaziland photostream (http://emichrysalis.co.uk/players/sigurros/unicef_photostream/) for all to see, with music by sigur rós accompanying the slideshow. we have also translated an interview (http://sigur-ros.co.uk/media/intervi/unicef.php) with the band about their journey.

random thing here: yesterday a bunch of us lay on the beach looking at stars. it was such a BEAUTIFUL night, i can't stress that, and since we were laying on a close-to-deserted island, the sky was crystal clear which allowed stars you didn't think were there, to appear. anyway, i got takk out and let a friend here it [her first time btw,; never heard of sigur ros]. she loves it, doesn't understand what the hell anything means but loves it! perfect night just laying under the stars on the beach listening to sigur ros. :D :nice:

yesterday i finally got Takk... !! i know, i am a bit behind the times. but i don't think it matters WHEN you get into a band, but WHY you get into them.
but that is a different rant for a different day :nice:
ok so yesterday, i walked into my favourite music shop (JB Hi Fi for the Aussies who'll know what i'm talking about :P) expecting to have to go search for Takk... and possibly pay a high price for it. BUT! as i walked in, there was a $10 rack near the door, and i had a look through (it was mostly either stuff i had or stuff i didn't want) and there was a whole ROW of Takk... for ten bucks!! i was so excited. :D
and then i went home and listened to it (i'd only heard two or three tracks before buying it) and WOW. :stunned: i lllloooovvveeee. :nice:
i noticed something weird as i was listening to it. a few different times, i SWORE i heard words in English. once i thought i heard him sing, "i don't feel alright" and like three other times i swore i heard "i love you". but i think that's just me being a spack.

[I]of course this is all personal opinion so yeah :P anyway either one would be great, it's sigur ros afterall :D
Claire ~ oh yes, i bought is from the same place for the same price too! dance for jb hi fi lol great place and much cheaper than anywhere else. and yeah i can hear a lot of english but it makes no sense, but that doesn't stop me from singing what i think are the words :nice:

The girls will be supported by Tom Brosseau on a lot of the East Coast dates (and he, by the way, is amazing). In Cincinnati they are performing both in their own right and as part of Sufjan Stevens band for his performance at Now Festival, which should be mother-of-god amazing!
Equally, if not more importantly, amiina’s debut album, ‘Kurr’, will be available through their website from March 21st. It can be preordered now here (http://javascript<b></b>:ol('http://shop.sandbag.uk.com/Amiina/Store/DisplayIndividualItem-506-2-0-kurr,preorder.html');) along with a new range of related merchandise and will also be available on the tour. Amiina are currently negotiating record deals to release the new album through traditional routes, but meantime, this is best and only the way to acquire this quiet gem of a debut. In addition, the existing EPs are now available as a download here (http://javascript<b></b>:ol('http://shop.sandbag.uk.com/Amiina/Store/DisplayIndividualItem-460-6-0-amiina,singles,bundle.html');).
That’s all. Over & out.

i've had more discussion about getting on today with my sister lol it's weird considering i would be the last person anyone would've thought would get one

oooo and what did she say about it?
StarsKay
03-03-2007, 02:51 PM
funny enough she was really interested in it. i thought she'd be pretty dismissive like "hm, ok well we'll see how things go, but anyway" yet instead she was like "where do you want it? what do you want tattooed? why?" really getting involved, which made me feel amazingly confident. when i told her i wanted the angel, she said "I KNEW IT! i knew it before you told me!" lol am i that predictable? oh well, for love of the music etc :nice:

03-03-2007, 02:52 PM
haha do it then :P the angel is fantastic :nice:

03-03-2007, 02:57 PM
i figured what i'll do is draw the angel on myself for around a week, and see if at the end whether i've gotten tired of it or whether i need to stop wasting time [and ink] lol and DO IT! lol it's insane that i'm actually considering getting one but :D

the tattoo looks even better now!
and it's so sharp and i like the lines... and everything.

yeah, beside the fact that i'm not 18 yet.

where would you like to have one?
Grace
03-03-2007, 11:55 PM
first of all i want a small heart on my left ringfinger...
and i'm still so amazed by your angel that i'd consider getting one on my neck..(dunno how to explain... well on the back below my head...)
of course a smaller version of yours.
and also the word "god" in hebrew letters ...
