yesteray, in my bed... i was listening to my MP3.. as usual.. & then "Untitled 1" played.... & i just couldn't stop crying.. i was kind sad to begin with, but just whenlistened to this song i don't know wat happened to me......i just ADORE it.. it's the most amazing song i've heard .. & just listening to the tune at the begining of it.. it takes me to whole other place.......i LOVE it.....:nice:

finally an update!

iceland tour photos19 October 2006

we’ve compiled the photos we received from the iceland summer tour onto this page (http://sigur-ros.co.uk/tour/2006/iceland.php). the pictures are quite nice as the venue locations were a bit unusual: a field outside a farmer’s house (háls í öxnadal), surrounded by fog in front of a church (seyðisfjörður), inside a huge canyon formed by a glacial flooding (ásbyrgi), etc. all the concerts were filmed and will be released on an upcoming dvd featuring footage from the concerts as well as of the icelandic countryside and people. a live cd is also being planned, with some of the band’s rare songs expected to be included (e.g. lagið í gær, gítardjamm, von revamped). we’ll let you know as soon as we have confirmed release dates for these.

a field surrounded by fog... god i love Sigur Ros, they choose the most perfect locations to perfom. wish i was there :(

hmmm.. well my first album for them was Takk... i absoloutly fell in love with it and with Sigur Ros, from there i moved to Agaetis Byrjun which is also amazing and finally ( ) which is by far the most perfect album ive heard in my entire life.. so idd say start with Takk now, thats what i recommened to other people to start with. them move to the others ;)

in late september the members of sigur rós travelled to africa to visit HIV-positive orphans in swaziland. the trip was carried out in cooperation with UNICEF as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the 40% HIV infection rate in swaziland, which is the highest in the world. the band members took a number of striking photographs of the children they visited and a selection of these photos will be exhibited from november 30th to december 7th at liborius (mýrargata 3) in reykjavík. the photographs will be auctioned off between 4pm and 6pm on november 30th, with all proceeds going to UNICEF in swaziland.

everyone is talking about vaka instrumental so can someone please re-upload?

this is the first time posting in this thread because i really didn't know what the hell sigur ros was, what their sound was like and knowing they were from iceland, assumed i wouldn't get their music at all. so long story short, last night i felt inspired and finally heard hoppipola and was blown away, absolutely brilliant. today i bought the takk album and haven't stopped playing it.
*breathe* lol and this was meant to be the short story. anyway i'm thankful i'm no longer completely oblivious about this band :nice:
